  1. Hi Elennare. Yup, the Whole30 is just super-strict Paleo, a bit more so, for 30-days, to get rid of any of your food allergies. As for the book, all the information you need to get started with the Whole30 is one the website, but the book goes in to a bit more depth, regarding feelings, cravings, etc. The book isn't necessary, but if need be, I'd just pick up from your local library before buying it.
  2. Hi Jonesy. I've never made Ghee, but I do know of one excelent store-bought brands, that'll help with the Whole30.The brand is Pure Indian Foods. You can use the Store Locator to find it locally or you can order the ghee via Amazon.com. It's delicious and Whole30 approved! http://www.pureindianfoods.com/whole30-paleo-program-s/54.htm

  7. The Central Jersey Meetup today was fantastic. MrsWeasley and I met up in-person and a had a fantastic time hunting down geo-caches throughout Duke's Farm. I'm looking forward to meeting other Jersey NF Rebels in at future Meetups!
  8. I think one way to track foods without counting calories is to focus on a.) eating whole foods and b.) keeping a picture food blog. You can use a service like Tumblr or even Instagram, to take pictures of all the foods you eat on a daily basis and you'll have a visual record of what you ate for that week. That way, you can review your meals every Sunday and get an eye-opening picture of what you normally eat/don't eat and adjust accordingly.
  9. Just a reminder to everyone, that the Nerd Fitness Meetup is happening this Saturday, August 9th, starting at 8:30 AM in the morning. I hope to see some of you there! All the details are on the Facebook Events page, https://www.facebook.com/events/833859819957774/

  13. It's been several long months since I've written on this Daily Battle Log, but I've decided that I need to make some BIG changes in my life in the next several months and the catalyst for all those changes will start with sweating daily. There's nothing better than that exhilarating feeling post-workout, when you're breathing heavy, your muscle ache, your throat craves several ounces of cold water but you feel ALIVE. It's just AWESOME SAUCE. I MISS that feeling. I also realized I'm in better spirits on the days I work out, I feel less stressed out and I usually sleep quite well. In addition, everyday I work out, I feel like a SUPER HERO that can conquer the world and take on all the challenges in my life. That's more than enough reasons for a daily workout, don't you think?
  14. Hi MrsWeasley, I'm actually in the Central Jersey area, right next to Princeton and I was thinking of hosting a Meetup for the NerdFitness folks that might be local to the area. In fact, I was thinking we could all do something fun, like an geocaching expedition. Perhaps I could set this up in August, depending on my schedule and/or life events? Anyone up for it?
