  1. Hi, I'm Rymmare and I'm a WoW addict. Unfortunately I gave it up for a while so I can focus on leveling up my real life because if it came down to the choice between WoW and studying...well, there was no choice really. I'd always pick WoW lol. Sooooo...I guess I'm a recovering WoW addict
  2. I always bring a large bottle of water to the theater with me. I have been sneaking in a baggie of almonds lately and even threw in a banana once LOL! I also grab a pack of gum just in case I get hit with the munchies, the act of chewing is usually enough to calm them. In general I try to avoid going to the snack counter because I know whatever I order will just make me feel sick but I wont have the will power to say no. I haven't gone with my kids lately, but when they are with it's more of the same, but I let them get popcorn. That's part of the fun and I don't think they need to be on as strict of an eating plan as I am.
  3. Woot!! Grats! I think getting the hubby on board is more difficult than the process of losing weight LOL!!!
  4. After a long night of howling dogs and being up late practicing for her warrior trials, Rymmare spent the day groggy and contemplating the need for going to sleep closer to night fall. Even so she managed to eat balanced meals of fish, egg and fowl with heaping sides of leafy greens and tuberous orange vegetables. She even managed to pull a mixture of berries off the bushes near her. Early in the day she spent some time lifting the boulders in her clearing in an attempt to build build up her strength and then went for a walk after her nightly meal to help her relax. As she prepares for sleep, Rymmare plans on more studies for her trials.
  5. Updated my challenge stuff. It's now all role playey and stuffs... From here on out I'm going to *try to* do my daily updates in role play form. Gotta keep it fun, right?
  6. This is an interesting idea. Thanks for sharing!
  7. I don't have any one thing that motivates me. I look at pictures of what I used to look like, I imagine what I want people to be saying this summer when I put on a bikini and have a very defined six-pack tummy, I hop on my fitness page on Facebook and post motivation for other people because if I don't get up and workout after telling someone else to I feel guilty. I look at pictures of figure competitors and super fit women and remind myself to get to that goal, I will have to put the work in. My husband tells me to do it. I talk myself into getting up and putting my workout clothes on. And then my shoes. And then I do just my warm-up and promise myself if I don't feel it by the end of the warm-up I can sit back down. But by the time the warm up is over i think 'well, I've already come this far' and finish it out. Most importantly: I don't give myself the option of not working out. It can be a struggle to get started but the actual act of doing it is non-negotiable.
  8. Why do people feel that we have to decide which one is better for it? Shouldn't we encourage a mixture of both weight training and aerobics? The type of each would vary greatly depending on the person and the goals but everyone should be doing at least a little of both. I also think it depends a lot upon the individual as well, I hope that 'they' eventually figure out there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to weight loss, health and fitness. What works for one, probably wont work for the other. Even more, depending on your goals you'll be focusing on different things, someone training for a marathon is going to have a different workout plan than someone who wants to do a figure competition. I think it's time 'they' just agree that a mix between a healthy diet- cardio and weights is the best way to get in better shape and stop trying to give people an easy weight loss cure!
  9. I <3 plyometrics! I usually describe it to others as just workouts involving a lot of jumping, just seems easier to me haha.
  10. I'm the same way. I hated jogging at a steady state but I always loved my interval days. I love just letting go and running as fast I can for as long as I can, which isn't very long. A minute at best lol. Which is probably why I've always had great success with programs like Insanity and TurboFire since they both have high intervals in them.
  11. I like this idea!! Please don't make me do anymore squats. My poor tushy will go on strike if I put it through anymore squats!!!!!
  12. Another pretty good day. I have been craving sugar and junk all day, but I KNOW it's related to stress. I haven't been sleeping as much as I should and have been spending every waking moment trying to keep up with the house, kids, new puppy, studying and working out while getting my fitness page up and growing as well as my blog. It's been crazy for me mentally but I know it'll be worth it in the end. Ate Paleo all day (well, except for my nightly 85% chocolate bar...which I will be giving up next week I have decided. Kill me now!!!) Did my scheduled Fire45 workout plus a core workout. Didn't get my daily mile in :-/ Woke up too late to do any workouts this morning, had my usual extra Wednesday kid all afternoon so didn't want to work out while she was here and then only made time for TurboFire. I know the mile is only another 20 minutes but I wanted to spend every minute that the kids were asleep for study time, so I chose that over my mile I'll try to make up for it tomorrow with walking 2 LOL! Did the 16 burpees as part of the burpee challenge. Don't know if I updated yesterday or not but I did all 120 burpees yesterday in order to catch up to the challenge. Thought I was going to die. I did them in sets counting backwards so 15-short break-14-short break-13-short break and so on until the end. I have to say though, I'm pretty proud of myself. I did all of them in 10 minutes, maybe 15 minutes at most. A year ago I couldn't have done that, I'd have collapsed onto the floor and given up haha. Yay progress! Here's to tomorrow being better than today was, I really need to get out of this funk before I lose my will power and start eating junk food again! It's all completely mental and it all has to do with getting certified, giving up Beachbody and trying to figure out where to go from there. I know I want to help people lose weight but I just don't have enough faith in my social skills to believe I would make a good trainer. Hell, I tried that once and it was terrible for me, I don't want to do that again! It's hard to push through studying and work towards a goal when you're not sure what achieving that goal will even accomplish. I would love to learn Parkour and then start teaching that around the area, maybe open a gym dedicated to it someday but I just don't know if I have the right personality to. Bah. I'm going to bed before I bring myself down further..
  13. To anyone who has never done 120 burpees, not just in one day, but over the span of maybe 20-30 minutes and following decently intense 60 minute workout....bit of advice. DON'T DO IT!! My body hates me right now....I'm scared to go to bed because I am going to HURT in the morning!!! But hey, now I'll only need to do 16 tomorrow LOL!!
  14. I have to disagree with you. There was a time I ran 3-4 times a week and I did this for at least 6 months, probably longer. Some days I would enjoy it but 90% of the time I came back from a run physically and mentally drained half the time I came back in before the amount of time I had set in my head to run because I was just sick of running, just bored with it and was ready to move onto the next thing. But when I picked up heavy weights for the first time, yea I was sore the next day but I LOVED it. I don't think there was ever a lifting workout I have done that I've grumbled about or gotten bored with. After lifting I feel energized mentally, even if my body feels like jello. Some people are meant for certain activities that others aren't. If you don't enjoy what you are doing, chances are you aren't going to work as hard or see the results you'd get from something you do enjoy!
  15. 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 done!! I'm officially in the challenge! What a...brutal...way to end my cardio workout!!
  16. Playing catch- going backwards from today. I've done 15-14-13-12-11-10-9.....
  17. This is like the planking craze but a gazillion times more awesome. Even more of a reason for me to be able to hold the damn pose!!!! I'm on it!!!
  18. Week 1 went well for me!! I stayed on paleo the whole time, studied every day and got my workouts in. Lost 3 pounds (from Fri-Fri) and I am feeling awesome!! Bring on week 2!!!
  19. Thanks everyone. I keep randomly hanging from my pull-up bar. My 2 year old keeps clapping and shouting 'momma's a monkey! Go momma! Go momma!" LOL!!
  20. Wanted to read a little (currently reading It Starts With Food) and decided to hop on the treadmill while I did. Walked/jogged 2 miles and learned quite a bit about different foods! Pretty excited! Have a good system set up, I walk while reading the normal stuff and then kick it up to a jog while reading the highlighted boxes!! I'll hopefully add in a couple more miles tomorrow!
  21. Had a great day today! Woke up to breakfast in bed (love mondays!) which was an omelet with lots of veggies and some Tbacon. Lunch was tuna salad (made with olive oil and mustard instead of mayo) on cucumbers with olives and apples mixed in and kale chips on the side. For dinner we had chicken nuggets that I made using crushed up walnuts and sweet potato kettle chips that hubby made, which were delicious! I added a small spinach salad with bell peppers to mine! I also had a protein shake after my workout. I'm planning on making 'ice cream' again tonight using frozen mixed berries and almond milk and possibly throwing in 100%chocolate because I want a chocolate fix!! I Also I'm officially changing my eating cut off to 8. I know it's terrible but I do unwind using food, and I figure if I can stick to healthy foods it isn't horrible to have a small snack after the kids go to bed..... I'll keep telling myself that for now haha! For workouts I did pump, focused on my chest press form and my shoulder didn't hurt this time!! I also dropped the weights back down to 10 on each side. I'll do one more workout with it like that before bumping it back up to 15 per side. I added 15 pounds onto my squats though, so instead of doing the full 30, I was squatting 45. 5 minutes of continuous squat motions with 45 pounds sitting on your shoulders is no picnic, let me tell ya! But I'm proud that I did it!! After my pump workout I did HIIT15, I love HIIT workouts! It's the only way I can handle cardio, I need to go hard for a while and then drop back down. Have to. Steady state stuff sucks! Which ironically, I'm planning on hopping on the treadmill after I'm done typing this and working on getting a couple miles in before the kids go to bed. The assassins have an unofficial challenge going on and I decided I wanted to be a part of it, so I am I'm also happy because, while I haven't studied yet today, I've made significant process towards my whole fitness business I'd like to have going once I do get my CPT. Yay!! Now to study this evening so I can get certified lol!!
  22. I'm in! I'm working with the warriors this time around but I'll be joining you all in the next challenge or so :-) Better get used to me now!!
  23. Shiny!! I'm signing up as soon as I get on the computer =)
  24. I switched to gum when I quit smoking. I can still knock out a pack of gum in 2 days lol. I had the best reason to quit though, I was pregnant and wasn't about to risk my child's health over my selfish addiction. So I quit. I still slip up and smoke when out drinking with someone who smokes from time to time. Best of luck with your challenge!
  25. Figured out my other question. Grip/wrist strength, mine is lacking. Any tips? I have limited equipment available to me so the simpler the better!
