  1. Definitely feeling awful today. I've been powering through it but I've been sick for three weeks now...going to take a couple rest days as far as workouts go and see if that helps kick this thing.

  3. Woke up this morning feeling sicker than I have in a while...sigh. Time to take some Sudafed, then I guess we'll see if today will be a rest day or not.
  4. Wow, so so sorry to hear about this Jonesy. Maybe getting back into your routine tomorrow will help you find some solace. Maybe you find that you need an extra day. Either way, you're totally supported. Prayers/good vibes/thoughts to you and your coworker's wife.
  5. I'M ALIVE. But I did (kind of) ditch the Paleo goal. See below or my thread for all the details. Sorry for being so scarce! This week should be better. Here's a long overdue update. I've lost another kilo, but my measurements are all over the place so who knows what is going on...I do know that I'm stronger, as I can do almost twice as many reps per set of most of the bodyweight exercises as I could at the beginning of the challenge! My friend had oral surgery, so I haven't been doing C25K with her as I can't bring myself to run alone in the cold and rain. Instead, I've been doing TurboFire HIIT workouts on my cardio days. Same length as C25K and definitely gets my heart rate up way more than running, so I still feel like I'm going strong on my biggest fitness goal. I'm 100% here. I've sort of ditched my Paleo goal for now...I've stopped counting by meals and am just allowing myself non-Paleo foods as a treat...still restricting them though. I'd say I'm probably eating 70/30 Paleo (though definitely 80/20 by weight), but it feels sooooo nice to not have to think about it anymore, and I'm really not splurging a ton. So that will be no points for that goal, but I still plan on eating mostly Paleo. Maybe I'll give myself a WIS bonus for learning I can't live without cheese. I want my diet to be something I can sustain in the long term...not something I hate in the day to day. I mean, a little bit of romano on tomato soup is hardly a sleeve of Oreos. Stretching goal is going well, I'd still say I'm 100% on that one. I haven't been reading for a half hour every day, but I have been reading at least 3.5 hours a week, so I'm calling that one 100% as well based on averages. The only thing is I'm still not feeling 100%. Got over the sore throat, then the runny nose, then the cough...now it's congestion and general achey-ness. Sigh. I just take my cocktail of psuedophedrine and ibuprofen in the morning and it gets me through til tea at night. Hoping this will be the week I kick this. Thanks for checking up on me! Here are my latest stats. Italics are adjustments from last week, not from the beginning. Measurements: Taken 1/23/2013 Height: 5’7†Weight: 128.6 lbs (-2.2 lbs) Bust: 33.5 inches (-.5 inches) Chest: 29.5 inches (+1 inches) Waist: 28 inches (+.25 inches) Hips: 37 inches (same) Thigh: 21.25 inches (-.75 inches) Calves: 14 inches (-.25 inches) Upper arms: 10.25 inches (same) Lower arms: 9.5 inches (same)
  6. Hey guys, Sorry I've been MIA...haven't fallen off the bandwagon yet, just haven't been in a posting mood I guess? Here's a long overdue update. 7. You guys, I am so ready to be DONE with 80/20 Paleo. I am meal planning right now and I am convinced that I need cheese and ciabatta bread. Argh! Give me a good reason to stick with it!

  9. Still going strong. Went to some friends' for dinner last night and they had made mac & cheese with aside of veggies. Ate in moderation, but had already expected that cheat meal so it didn't throw me off. In other news, I can do two real push ups now! Also started reading/working through an LSAT prep book for some of my reading after I got temporarily tired of reading about ecclesiastical courts in the Brothers K. I have no desire to be a lawyer, but I do feel like I'm getting smarter.

  11. I've been good all week, with the exception of two chocolate chip cookies today, and forgetting to stretch last night! Here's the numbers from this week: Measurements: Taken 1/13/2013 Height: 5’7†Weight: 130.8 lbs (-2.2 lbs) Bust: 34 inches (-.5 inches) Chest: 28.5 inches (same) Waist: 27.75 inches (-.25 inches) Hips: 37 inches (-.5 inches) Thigh: 22 inches (+1 inches) Calves: 14.25 inches (+.25 inches) Upper arms: 10.25 inches (+.25 inches) Lower arms: 9.5 inches (+.5 inches) Feeling good about everything! I think the increase in thigh measurement is the result of all those squats and burpees...other than that all my increase is from muscle and decrease is from weight loss! Woohoo!
  12. Feel like I've been gone forever even though it's only been a couple days. My week has been great, and I've managed to stay 100% on all my goals, with the exception of forgetting to stretch last night and eating two chocolate chip cookies in a weak moment today (but I guess even my goals allow for a bit of wiggle room there). Updated measurements are in detail on my personal thread, but I've lost two pounds! Already feeling noticeably stronger. Feeling great as far as workouts go...my 80/20 Paleo goal is by far the hardest! We have three dinners out this week, so my non-Paleo meals for the coming week are all accounted for in advance just in case...sigh. We'll see how I feel in a few weeks. I can do this for six weeks but don't know yet if I can make a lifestyle out of it.
  13. Whew, thanks guys, it's good to know I'm not alone. I've decided to allow myself to add legumes back in to my diet without counting against my three meals a week...I'll keep the dairy/grains at a minimum for now. Who knows, maybe I'll feel great in 5.5 more weeks!
  14. Been doing well so far...so far I'm 100% on on my goals, though my body has been constantly sore for the last few days. I've been doing some thinking, and I've decided to edit my Paleo diet goal to allow myself to have legumes without it counting against my 3 meals. This will allow me to add fiber and protein to my diet while still seeing how I feel with less bread/grains/dairy.
