  4. I am 42 years old and have an active 6 year old boy. I wish I loved working out but I don't so I must set goals for myself. This is my second challenge...I still crave Diet Pepsi. I enjoyed the first challenge and surprised myself by finishing it. My biggest achievement was when I checked my cholesterol...That was the moment that I realized that I need to continue with this lifestyle.... Goal 1 Continue to develop and improve Paleo eating habits. Try 1 new recipe per week. Prepare and take lunch to work. Allow 1 cup of morning coffee. 3pts Goal 2 Get to gym 3x a week, This will be my greatest challenge...Support and motivation will be appreciated!!! Complete cardio and weight/strength training per session.....I get lazy and only complete cardio. 3pts Goal 3 Spend time with friends and family. Allow 1 hour with friends per week. I often forget the importance of spending time with friends and family. I often cancel lunch dates and planned activities. 3PTS Goal 4 Volunteer in my son's classroom...1 day within the next 6 weeks...Volunteer Time is Mandatory at this school. 3pt Goal 5 Play with my son..cars, army men, legos, transformers, outdoor play, just play and laugh more...I will not count weekday play. I spend lots of time with my son but I forget to play. I will track this goal by 2 hours of "play" on Sat-Sun. 3pt
  5. Had a cheat day today....I feel sick!!!
  6. Workout C I stayed good on Paleo diet A But my biggest accomplishment is my health...just received lab results.....Wow my lipid results have amazingly improved. Better Health A I lost 11 lbs I would rate my success as B
  7. I'm getting stronger...Love it!!! I read something that Inspired me. It's not how much your body weighs but what your body can do for you...l probably got that wrong, but I love the Idea.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. I now have my own stash for movies and sporting events. My favorites are dried fruit, Paleo trailmix and my homemade trailmix.
  9. Day 22 I have maintained Paleo diet. I have learned new recipes for the family. I have decreased stomach issues. I've discovered a great health food store with tasty Paleo snacks....these snacks have helped at sporting events. IM becoming a regular at the gym....IM down 8 lbs.
  10. I have stopped losing at 6 lbs. I am trying to stay movtivated. I Usually go up and down on other diets. I am staying steady at 6 lbs
  11. Yes I am in Need of a mentor...day 15 and I am struggling. I made myself go to the gym. 20 min on step climber?? The really high machine. situps 20 min Elliptical arms/ tri and curl machine Also I have a type of injury to arm shoulder area so I also did a little on the row machine for back, per physical therapist I am stuggling to stay movitated and I have been having a strong craving for sweets, ugh!
  12. Day 12 and I am down 6 lbs I am starting to believe that I will reach my goal weight. I had given up on ever losing the pregnancy weight since my son is now 6 So I am really excited about this. I completed my gym workout goal but did not complete my daily walks at work. I think I will change my workout goal and I will commit to 4 days of gym workouts instead of 3. I hope to reach 5x a week at the gym. I am dropping the daily walks at work but will walk when I am able to fit it in.
  13. Thanks for the ideas. I love the idea of almonds and trail mix. My son can have his own mini sweets. Im just learning that my son doesn't really eat his snacks. Hmmm must have been me.
  14. Help! I always order standard large diet, large popcorn and bring my candy...Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am also looking for children friendly snacks.
  15. Day 9 Continue to try new foods and combinations gym completed sun and tues on target Soda cravings have decreased
  16. Day 6 Woohoo completed day 6 and had 6 great days. I'm ready and movitivated to start working out tomorrow. I am down 4 lbs. Not such a big deal but I have not been this weight in awhile. I recently lost about 10 lbs over the last couple of months. I would like to share a new ingredient that I found, Organic no salt seasoning from Costco. Just had it and it's great on fish.
  17. Day Three I've decided to focus on diet this week and include workout next week. I have been a little overwhelmed with cooking and choosing foods to complete a meal, throw in kids homework and Yes I'm overwhelmed. I am slowing figuring this out. Thanks for the suggestions. 3 successful days of Paleo. I am also having stong Diet soda cravings, so I picked up Ginger root and oolong tea. The Ginger root tea is really good from Alvita.
  18. Day one has been successful. Yeah day one! I used the stairs instead of the elevator today. Only three floors but i would have used the elevator if not for this challenge. I also found a new tea to try, Numi, Coconut Pu erh, as in my attempt to stop the coffee. I only had 1 cup of coffee instead of 5.
  19. Thanks for the tips. I would like to attempt decaff coffee in a few weeks as a step down. I am not there yet.
  20. I plan to drink more water and Genmai-cha tea. My plan for coffee is to use a little of the almond milk. It doesn't really sound great but i'm sure that will only help decrease or end my coffee breaks. Also the genmai-cha tea is a good replacemnt for coffee. I'm searching for the loose tea. Oh, I just read the ingredients, it has brown rice. Wow, I see why I loved the tea. Ok then i will search for the tea without the brown rice, which is probably just green tea, LOL.
  21. Goal 1: Continue to learn more about the Paleo lifestyle Goal 2: Start this challenge and make it into a lifestyle. Goal 3: Stop drinking Soda and Coffee with all the yummy stuff. Goal 4: workkout 30 mins 3x a week, walk daily at work I am 42 years old and excited to start this challenge. My main goal is to increase my health and energy level so that I can play with with 6 year old son.
