  1. I'm subbing for the stretchy links and because *duh* swords and swordplay!
  2. so it officially begins WHEEE I'm excited! week zero went well... I got a few actual gym days in too yay me! some good handstand practice, and some really good on my own workout time. (have you guys ever done the NF body weight workout? it's a good one!) I think I'm gonna start aiming for the batman one next... Have a great day everyone!
  3. Thanks guys This is why this place is so awesome. it's all of you
  4. hm... i was wondering what those were too.. might have to try them out sounds fun
  5. SO I'm SOOOOO excited I just have to share this! I got to go to a gym for the first time in 2 weeks (YAY!) and we did deadlifts (YAY AGAIN) not for max weight, just working... and i did 205 (YAY!!!) I have been worried that because I haven't been able to get to a gym that I will lose power in some of these lifts.. but not so much. It didn't even feel that heavy... like I could have gone heavier, NEXT TIME! 250 isn't too far off (hehehe I see a new goal in my future) ALSO the BEST thing about today was the Toes to bar. Some of you might remember that these have been a nemesis of mine from day one. but I got all 9(!!) the first round, and at least 3 solid hits in all 4 rounds after that SO HAPPY I did a little happy dance right in the middle of the WOD anyway. today has proven to me that all my playground time has been helping... Yay for nerd fitness for showing me the light
  6. SO close. You WILL get that ps I love my calluses... they're proof that I'm a b@da$$ also LOOKING GOOD!!
  7. soooo exciting!!!! what an awesome journey you are starting! AND how cool that your physio gave you stuff to do that will continue to help! (That was a lot of exclamation points!) all the best keep us posted as you can about your new adventure!
  8. ooo nice! like the cold shower therapy stuff... wheeeee!
  9. And I will be following yours! (I moved from Wisconsin to Iowa)
  10. these aren't technically yoga poses... But still it was the first time I've had the courage to hang upside down since I was a kid (or I guess since I still am a kid... since I was younger)
  11. It's true! and it's still so much fun to learn to do new stuff
  12. HIIIII!!! I'm here again to watch the awesome coolness that is you Rock it!
  13. do it do it do it do it doitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoit! insane it is indeed. but so are we so.....
  14. *peaks in back door* "oh good no one is looking... I can slide back in and it'll be like I never left" Actually I really missed all you awesome people! I'm so glad to be back in a place I can hang out with you all again... In case you wondered where I went, my life exploded as I moved from WI to IA (read: the middle of nowhere) this fall... and while I love people, this move was completely out of my comfort zone. All new faces, new surroundings... (and new gyms to explore ) Unfortunately my beloved barbells and crossfit box are fairly inaccessible these days. (I can sometimes get there 1x per week but not even always that *sniff, sniff*) BUT instead of feeling sorry for myself and quitting I'm carrying on in true assassin fashion aka finding ALL the playgrounds of which there are many SO ONWARD HO! 1- I want to work towards better control of my body while upside down.... handstand walks, falling out of handstands safely and without panicking ... (working towards one handed handstand too down the road of course) needs to be 5-7 times a week for 5 minutes at least 2- Running ... I will sprint at least once a week. 3- Core- since this is vital for all gymnastic moves, gotta get it stronger... I'm doing a plank challenge with a workout buddy (long distance but that's ok) it's daily. side thing- I really need to stretch daily too... fell out of this habit and I can feel it! not so side thing - do SOMETHING everyday ... it doesn't have to be super intense every day.. but MOVE! In fact I'm making this one the "if-you-don't-do-it-you-don't-get-credit-for-anything-else goal" (shouldn't be a problem as the plank thing is also daily, but this is added incentive) Let's GO!! (having some fun at an awesome playground...)
  15. ooo I'm excited! I got tackled by life a month and a half ago, but now things have settled back into some semblance of a routine again. I haven't quit logging or working out... I just need to get more focused again. Yay for goals! I'm thinking some kind of consistency thing... something every day. Doesn't need to be super intense everyday though.... I may have to go back to the old stand by of daily burpees. Not sure yet. I am basically cut off from my beautiful barbells... boohoo!! (once in a while I can get to a gym, but not with any kind of consistency) So I need to make sure I keep building my assassin skills and strength....so maybe a 3-4X weekly or maybe even daily skill work too. oh this is going to be good! can't wait to see what all you awesome people come up with too! Allons-y!
  16. helloooooo fellow assassins! I've MISSED you all SO MUCH!! but I'm hoping to be back for the next challenge. Can anyone tell me when it will begin? Looking forward to joining in the awesomeness around here again!
  17. The one where she does ALL the burpees. That's what this one will be known as the burpee challenge.... Kinda because if I wasn't doing burpees I was thinking about when and where I would be doing them. I'm more than a little proud that I did all 4200 that I planned on doing too. Yay me! Heh but I don't feel like I did much else... I did get meditation in most days but not as consistently as I would have liked Gets a B I did run some too but only really sprinted 2or 3 times... Not what I had in mind... Gets a C I did pretty well stretching... Coulda been a better effort though Gets a B So over all a B grade I even still kinda like burpees... Which surprises me I usually hate them at the end of a challenge. Might even do some more... Also I like the new format too. Keeps a person with "chasing the shiny" syndrome on task and looking forward

  19. Nice work on the planche!! And solid progress on your push-ups too. Thanks for the motivation you (probably unwittingly) provided me with I wouldn't have finished the burpees thing without it!
  20. Now that you mention it.. Elastigirl... It really has. I can get through more of them before I really have to quit or spit my lung out on the floor... but really I know you're right. the gradual approach to awesome... who knew it would be with BURPEES? ha
  21. here's my X and also the little m (if we're doing capital and lower case?)
