  2. I feel for y’all - that Saharan dust is no joke. Yep. It’s a frequent occurrence and we called the “professionals”. I suspect they just swapped the insulation wrapped around the air con ducts - this is our cuckoobananas air con situation - instead of investigating further. This should work for a couple weeks? Maybe longer? Maybe they don’t have to replace the metal tank thingies in the ceiling the last dude that came to fix things didn’t have the English to explain. I doubt the issue is permanently fixed. It never seems to be. Me too! I’m excited. Saturday Attended my last yoga class of the week and did semi-ok. It was a bit quick and my mat was absolute garbage, so I spent the whole time trying not to slip (again). Fun times. Lunch with the yogi friends was had after and we spent time talking about the types of classes I want to create. Both friends are beyond on board. Our community needs something like that, and since that’s all I want to focus on - I’m not interested in teaching vinyasa or purely flow-style classes - hopefully I’ll find additional courses to support where I want to grow. Went to the mall after and got everything else I needed (siren song of new school supplies, anyone?) for class but my medication, which I’ll pick up Monday. Today has been most of a wash - maintenance came, waiting on friends’ small children to let them make the drive to this side of town so we can go to lunch. Have been beading and may finish the latest brooch tomorrow - I actually don’t hate this one. And, I have the wire to make legs and stuff so I can actually finish it.
  3. Today Attended my back-to-back yoga classes: slow flow + core flow and made it through mostly unscathed. Wrist is a bit tweaked from an Ill-advised slacker crow prep jump back but I’m mostly fine otherwise. Still sore from yesterday’s massage, but that’ll hopefully be better tomorrow. Had lunch with my yoga teacher friends, ran some Insta/business names past them & they both jumped one one + strongly encouraged me to snap that ish up on at least Instagram. So I did, but I’m nowhere near ready to promote - have zero posts. I also ran my first couple posts that I’ve written past them and they love the tone - conversational and 100% me; not going for bland corporate speak or even consummate professionalism. I don’t have the energy for all that bs. Snuggled the pups and worked on another bug brooch in the afternoon. Also scheduled some social time this weekend. Annoying in my space at the moment: the damn light fixture drip is back in the kitchen. Boooooooooooooooooo. Ooooooooooooo. Ooooooooooo. Also conducted an experiment this morning for breakfast - took the ingredients I’d prepped for a smoothie (cherries, banana, protein powder, peanut butter, almonds) and dropped them into quick-cook oatmeal instead of blending them. And despite this being what I would have had in a smoothie (minus the spinach), I was less bloated than I have been all week. I’ve felt out of control bloated and like I’ve gained 10 pounds since I’ve gotten back. Maybe it’s the smoothies? At least in part? I know my body must be having a hissy from the air crunchies - everyone else I know with asthma or allergies is also suf-fer-ing these past 3 weeks.
  4. I leave for my yoga teacher training in about a week. This course is 200 hours spread over 30 days in Canggu, Bali, Indonesia. I’m excited and anxious. I’ve done just about as much of the pre-reading I can handle - non-fiction self-helpy type books + my brain absolutely do not mesh. I’ve mostly figured out what I’m packing and have most of what I need for that. Visas are done, I’ve booked a hotel for the first 2 days I’m there before class, I’m working on getting airport transport from the hotel, and I think I know what I want to do about a SIM. DH has been briefed about all things I can brief him on - and he more or less has a plan for what he is going to do with the dogs. In the run-up, I still need to: Go to 6 yoga classes Hit the mall for a new notebook and pretty pens - + maybe stickers for my water bottle so it doesn’t get mixed up. Plus my medications, Prep some frozen foods for the pups. Finish setting my last couple recipe blog posts. Continue to work on what I want to work on - right now, that’s informational Instagrammy posts for my new teaching venture, picking a name to go under, etc. Ooh. And I want nice colored pencils so I can color my yoga anatomy book. Not sure exactly what I’m doing challenge-wise, but I’m sure it’ll be packing, prepping, going and doing related.
  5. It was Odin and he seems to now be fine - he did a day and a half of just rice and that knocked whatever it was out of his belly. We visited the vet yesterday for his psych meds checkup and all was well. I’m so proud of my love for only freaking out quietly when he saw another dog in the waiting room - instead of screaming his damn head off. pup pups for tax
  6. 😂😂😂😂 suitcase has still not been put up. Hand sewing crop top thing is complete. Yoga was had 5x this week. 2 recipes were made, typed & photographed. A sick pup was cradled and nursed back to health. And social time was had with my yoga peeps.
  7. I mean …. As well you should (feel like a princess, that is). I remember the ice cream place being great - glad you made it back to the second fav spot! No clue what’s going on with the philosophy stuff, but I’m excited to see where it goes and will patiently await videos of talks! 🙌🙌

Back to yoga today - grabbed an ‘emergency project’ Incan hand see for something to do - thawed steaks for dinner & had ramen + egg for lunch because we have no fresh food in the house. forgot my credit cards when I went to yoga; luckily had just enough cash on hand for more coffee for tomorrow. laundry has been done, most things have been put away except the actual suitcase, and loves have been snuggled.
  9. I’m back home and taking a rest and recover day with a pup by my side. I think Odin needs it too. I’m too tired to long summary - suffice it to say: Athens was a comfortable city despite the heatwave, spending time with a Nerd friend was quite satisfying - DH concurs, and we are both back a bit tired but not drained. And now I need a nap.

  12. And it was delicious Cooked sushi is quite a big thing in the corner of the world I live in. In Japan, it’s a more modern thing and is called Nikusuzhi. This recipe looks close to what we had the other night ago: https://www.today.com/recipes/steak-sushi-recipe-t258103 I’ve more heard about wagyu strips on nigiri rice and have had a few blowtorched offerings locally. The plate we had at Birdman was excellent and I’m totally bummed we don’t have that exact dish here. I wants it!

  15. I’m in Athens. I finished my sewing, gentle itinerary-ing is going swimmingly, tattoos have been gotten, and this! Had a fantastic evening with @DarK_RaideR - in 3-D! 🙌🙌🙌🙌 more pics to come, I’m sure. I’m slow af this morning - we played young and fun and didn’t want to go “home” at - gasp! - 10. 😂
  16. Wednesday: Bailed on yoga because motivation to leave the house for the first time at 4:30pm is not my strong suit. Re-jiggered and fixed the dress I hated to the ‘good/better/best principle. Finished top 2 of 3. Worked on still more ruching prep for the last top. Damn this is taking forever. Should finish Friday if not tonight. Played more Disney Dreamlight Made the bulk of 2 smoothies & photographed for the blog. I’ll have 4 recipes to put up; 3 more to go when I get back. Discovered that I absolutely cannot even with reading the woo book I have to read for yoga school. DH was right: I should have just gotten the audiobook. I probably won’t be able to pay attention to that either, but my brain is allowing 2% attention paying to the book. Maybe if I’m bopping around the mall listening I can actually hear it. Food has been good - I’m about out of protein, but I’ve got a fridge full of veg. im in my contacts again today - vision on the scratched eye is fine; the other one is shit today. No idea why other than general body fuckery.
  17. SO EXCITE Coming soon! I have plans to pretend I care about Instagram and make a whole … thing .. about the mini capsule. Will keep you posted! Sun - Tues Sunday: DH and I adultiest of adulted during the morning/early afternoon, sinking into our respective Switch games. Met friends at the mall for a wander and helped my girlfriend pick out quite a few new wardrobe refresh items. Monday: DH left for a trip, I snuggled pups and did fuckall else. Tuesday: My loves decided to wake me up with joy … which was fantastic, until Odin accidentally booped my eyeball with his nose. And probably scratched my cornea. It’s still a bit blurry and making life difficult. I made it to yoga this morning - in my glasses & a baseball cap we had shoved in the back of the closet. Class was good and I was able to do it with my eyes closed. My eyes were thankful. Also hit up the grocery. Made 2 of the 7 recipes for the blog I need to make before August - a salmon fruity salad & a cucumber sesame salad. Had the salad for lunch & the cukes for dinner with a burger patty because: ‘Merica. Also finished one of my shirts today - 2 left + fix the dress I hate to go and have worked on the shirring prep for the 3rd top. Have also been diving into my Disney game because they finally fixed the bug with Mickey I had so I can now fully play the damn thing.
  18. This last week: Yoga was had: Mon, Tues, Friday x2, Saturday i finished the circle dress but h-a-T-e it. I’ve got to finish the ruched top and the 2 others before revisiting, but 999999999 other YouTube videos need to be watched to figure out how to fix it. I’m assuming chop 1/4 - 1/2 off of each side of the panel cut on the fold + re-cut the neck based on new measurements, but man is that a lot of seam ripping. we will leave that to last. im like 1/3 done with the ruched top and have the pieces at least cut for the other 2. I got a second bug brooch to mostly-complete. It’s … better than Take 1, and that’s the most generous I can say about it. On to V3. Also have plotted the next 7 recipes I need to do to post on the blog. Oops. Completely forgot to type todays to post on time; will hopefully remember to do tomorrow. And I got a cool anatomical coloring book for yoga poses in from Amazon. I’ve digitized the flash cards in the back and have imported them into Notability to be able to color them without destroying th book. Will also color the book, despite my strong desire for pristine pages.
