  1. WOW!! Thanks everyone for the messages. I have been down and out with pneumonia and was in hospital for a bit. Doing much better now..just ticked that it interfered with my 1st challenge. On a positive note I haven't wanted to touch a cig and thanks to I.V. diet I am down a few pounds as well.LOL.
  2. Well for whatever reason it appears that my thread is a day behind. Day 4 is fantastic!!! I woke up this morning and noticed for the 1st time in a very long time that even though it was 4a.m. I didn't need the snooze button. Don't know if it's because of the lack of cigarettes or a steady exercise schedule but it was a very welcome change. Hope everyone is doing well.
  3. Thank you for the encouragement. I am clueless about how to "grade" myself. I have been trying to come up with a system but am drawing a complete blank. I was thinking maybe I would just grade myself on a day to day basis but I am not sure if that is really what you guys have in mind. Any advice you can offer would be most welcome.lol
  4. WOW!!! Can't believe that i have made it to day 3!!!!!!! Absolutely the toughest battle of my life but so far all is well. Exercise sessions are going really well. I have gotten in the habit of everytime I think about lighting up I start doing jumping jacks.....what can I say i am VERY tired.lol Thank you all so much for the words of encouragement it has meant the world to me:) Paleo eating is a lot tougher than it sounds in a busy world so this week has been a little blahh....lots of salads and I dedfinaely can't do that everyday. I am going to do a better job this weekend of planning out my meals for the week. I am very happy with my body weight challenge progress and feel like my goal of 3 reps in a 20 minute session will be no trouble to conquer....in fact I probably didn't challenge myself enough on that one but I figured I had extreme enough goals to tackle with the no smoking. Looking forward to week 2 of my new life:)!!!!
  5. day 1 down......hardest day ever. would rather give birth over and over again. Patches are a joke. wish i could smoke my laptop. staying strong and going to bed. Tomorrow is a new day. It will all be worth it.....right??:/ Hoping everyones day went better than mine:) Today i get an A for not smoking and for not killing anyone
  6. All right guys. Thanks for the help. I have tried to be more specific with the goals so here goes my revised plan. Challenge on!!!! Current Stats: 5'4" 161 lbs. My goals: 1. quit smoking....I have quit once a whole bunch of times...its gonna stick this time .....will be grading myself really strict here only option is to pass. I am terrified of what my 10 year old drama queen will do if I don't make it work this time....if I fail she gets a cell phone for her birthday in May. 2. lose 15 lbs. by the end of this 6 week challenge. 3. be able to complete 3 intervals of the bodyweight circuit at a time. I will be doing this workout 3 times a week(Mon., Wed., Fri.) 1st 2 weeks of challenge 1 interval, 2nd two weeks of challenge 2 intervals last two weeks of challenge 3 intervals 4. be able to do 10 real push-ups(not my usually girl style) by the end of the 6 weeks. Bonus Goal....Save $200.00 by end of the challenge to go towards Nerdfitness Camp Will have to do more research on the grading myself aspect on all of this so I will add that in later. Thanks again everybody for all the input
  7. Thats right Athena...relief!! thanks for the encouragement.
  8. Last cig just smoked...pause, sigh, tear,..alarm set for early a.m. workout. Game On folks. And may the odds be ever in our favour. TFDI:)
  9. Thanks a lot guys. I so got this;)....right?lol
  10. Got room for a newbie? Honestly just trying to get started here and need all the inner demon slayin help I can get.
  11. how do I find an accountability group to join?

  12. Thanks!! I will take any/all help I can get. So to revise how about: I am quitting cold turkey with a patch crutch starting on Monday morning(I have my current stash of cigs rationed out to last until bedtime Sunday night) and I plan to be patch free by the end of the 6 weeks challenge. I can do 100 girlstyle push-ups at a time now and about 8 regular push-ups....any more than that at a time and my form gets really bad. I plan on starting with 8 the first week and going up 2-3 push-ups a week so that by the end of the challenge I hit my goal.
  13. New to NF....hell pretty new to fitness period. Not really sure if I am doing this right but here goes nothing: I have about 40 lbs. to lose so for this challenge my goals are to embrace this Paleo diet, give up the cigs....that'll be the the hardest part.., and to up my exercise to include more bodyweight training. Anybody out there in the NF world that wants to help me out with encouragement and tips I would really appreciate it. I don't really have much of a support system. Current Stats: 5'4" 161 lbs.
