  1. So...not so great finish to the challenge. I knew that the exercise portion was gonna be tough as I lost a week there due to whatever was wrong with me and it became quickly apparent that my push up goal was too lofty. The only goal that I completely met was the water goal and I'm quite proud of that one because it caused me to kick my mountain dew habit. So here is the final tally... Goal 1 - Fail since I did not do the workout 3 days a week. Goal 2 - D - that's 1 STR point. Can do 10 regular push ups at a time. Goal 3 - A - that's 3 CON points. Drank 60oz of water everyday. Goal 4 - Fail. Did not update three times a week (nearly though). Next challenge I will not be grading goals on Pass/Fail basis as it's kind of depressing. Still...all in all this has been a positive experience as I definitely feel a lot stronger than I was when I started. Also as I had stated previously I now actually have muscle where there was once only flab...lol. I still can't believe I have biceps!
  2. So, unbelievably, running outside did not really make me sore...but for some reason yesterday's Angry Birds Workout did...might have been because I kicked the squats up to 100! But I was able to get through them all! Yay! Also new development...apparently I do have tricep muscles! Double Yay!! Still drinking water...still posting... BTW...Mother Nature is starting to p*ss me off...where the heck is Spring?! Also...hope your knees feel better Telemon!
  3. So I ran outside today...cannot believe how much harder it is than using a treadmill. However it's also harder to control your pace without the belt. When I was running I think I was going much faster than I usually do on a treadmill. Running, however, was the only thing I did today...what with Easter and all (ie. an excuse to be lazy). However I'm going to rearrange my Angry Bird Workouts this next week to incorporate the missing day from this week. We'll see how that goes...
  4. Still going strong since last week with everything. Super excited...tomorrow is gonna be warm enough to actually attempt to run outside...yay! Spring may finally be here!
  5. And....I'm back! Angry Birds workout done...and I feel great! Won't be hitting either of my workout/strength goals this time around but I'm gonna continue to plug away at it and I definitely feel stronger so I don't feel too bad about it. Didn't run as far today as I usually do but Planet Fitness was about a million degrees today...wish it would get a little warmer so I can run outside. At least I will be hitting my water and posting goals(if posting twice in one day counts!).
  6. So took Telemon's advice and took a couple days off...today was the first day in a week that I've felt normal. It will be back to business as usual on Sunday and hopefully I can make some progress with my workout goals again...
  7. So I feel like I won't be making any real progress towards my push up goals...at least this week. I've felt totally rundown since Monday and I'm not sure why. I've been sleeping like I normally do and I don't really feel sick...maybe a little bit of a head cold. I just haven't been able to get into my workouts over the last few days. I'm wondering if maybe I'm doing too much or maybe not eating enough...I don't really know. I've been completely fine up until this point so I can't really believe I'm doing too much...just a handful more of reps and a few pounds more of weight. Even during Zumba I've had to rest during the routines...I really hope this passes because I've been feeling great, physically, up until now but if this continues I probably won't be meeting either of my workout goals. Telemon - thanks for the encouragement on my goals! I really appreciate it! Also love Rocky Horror and that is a great motivational quote!
  8. Well a little disappointed in myself...skipped a cardio workout yesterday (not that it was part of the challenge) and did not make up for it today. My excuse is that I actually went out and socialized with some people from work which does not happen often for me. I guess I could just make the excuse that I was working on my charisma though ;-). However my water goal is right on track for this week as are my strength goals. Saturday is usually my "day of rest" anyway so I guess one day is not anything to be too concerned about...until it turns into a week...
  9. So I've made the switch to regular push ups...wow I'm weak. On the bright side those planks I've been doing have helped keep me up...before it was a challenge just doing that. So that is definitely a victory in my eyes! Now I just have to work on my upper body strength. Today's workout wasn't great however...I think it's because I ate dinner first. I did wait a couple hours but I seem to do better on a slightly empty stomach. So I will not be making that mistake again. Otherwise still going strong on the water front...seems to have become a habit now. It also seems to have helped me kick my Diet Mountain Dew habit...so I won't have to make that one of my future goals!
  10. Week 2 Score Goal 1 - Pass. Still on track - I love filling in that spreadsheet. Goal 2 - A. Not that it really counts until week 6... Goal 3 - A. Still going strong. Goal 4 - Pass. That is...with this post. ;-)
  11. Second day of Angry Bird Workout in the books for the week. It was pretty brutal. Did up the weight I'm using for Rows to 20lbs however...so that's good. Push ups suck. I now remember why I hated them in high school...and back then I could do an actual one. However I want that Nerd Fitness shield shirt and I've told myself the only way I'm getting one is to do 50, so I'll keep plugging along. But today makes me think that 30 in a 6 week period was way too ambitious a goal for me to reach. But then aiming high is better than not aiming at all, right? Still good on the water front...drinking on average around 72oz a day. Then there's the posting...
  12. Should probably post an update on my week 1 score: Goal 1 = Pass. Right on track. Goal 2 = A. Right on track with this one as well. I still predict that week 3 to be the week that makes or breaks me... Goal 3 = A (at least that's what I'll call it unless I miss a day each week for the next 5 weeks). Goal 4 = Pass. Almost didn't however, I'm a bit of a procrastinator and didn't start posting until late in the week.
  13. My one hour Zumba class puts me at 4.8km?! It's so fun it almost seems like cheating! Fantastic workout however...
  14. I'm in! A good reason not to shirk my Sunday workout!
