  1. 2 days of exercise is much better than 0! Sometimes life happens. Just make the next time better Keep rocking it!!
  2. Thanks! I've definitely kept the momentum going for walking and quilting. Running...not so much. I think it's just because I'm not really into running. But I want to have a good time at the 5K and the way to do that is to train. Thanks! I hope so. I can't seem to finish anything because I'm always working on 3-5 projects at the same time.
  3. I agree with Telemon. You can definitely get back on track. I find there are always ups and downs in the challenges...some weeks are just better than others. Way to go on cleaning!
  4. Thanks Jenni! ----- Week 3 Grades Still slacking on the forums. I have way too much going on and am being a crappy accountabilibuddy. I did kick some ass in week 3, however. Walking - A I walked to the metro 6 times. Running - A Ran 3 times and successfully completed week 4 of C25K. Woot! Quilting - A I spent 4.5 hours quilting. Still have lots to do and probably not enough time... ----- It's raining today and it's supposed to rain all week. Boo!! I hate rain. Well, actually I hate how it affects my mood.
  5. Great week 3! Keep it up and enjoy the weekend
  6. Sending good thoughts your way. I'm really impressed by your commitment to keeping up with your workouts and eating healthy. Way to go honeysuckle!
  7. Way to go on an awesome week 2!!
  8. Thanks! I definitely will post pictures. Thanks Muryanp! Agreed. That was one of the things I learned in the last challenge. Biking to work is a great idea!! ---------- Week 2 Grades Welp, I'm a massive slacker for posting my week 2 grades on Friday of week 3. My schedule got away from me a bit in week 2 and I was not very successful in meeting my running goal. However, I did great in meeting the other two goals. Walking - A I walked to the metro 6 times during the work week and another 2 times on the weekend. It was fantastic! Running - C I only ran once. Not so good. Quilting - A I spent almost 8 hours quilting this week. I made a lot progress finishing the baby quilt top and my mother's day gift (a laptop case). ----------- This week is going pretty well. I've walked 4 times and should be able to get the other two times in today. DH and I ran on Wednesday successfully completing one of the week 4 workouts in C25K. We'll run again tonight. Spent 1.5 hours quilting on Monday and will definitely do more this weekend (I have some deadlines coming up!!). We're also going to the Nat'l Zoo tomorrow.
  9. I had a similar week, although my symptoms showed up on Wednesday. Glad you're feeling better!
  10. Love your stretching goal! Great job on week 1
  11. I've met quite a few people that have said that they really like the carbonation part of pop. I've substituted sometimes with carbonated water, but mainly with unsweetened ice tea. Its only downside is loads of caffeine. Great thinking on not making weight loss an official goal, so you're not worrying about it. It will definitely come. Keep it up!
  12. Great goals! I think packing boxes definitely counts as exercise
  13. I use Google docs too. My set up is actually a bit like yours (you can see it here). Keep up the great work!!
  14. Way to go!! You're off to a great start this challenge
  15. This past week started off with a bang, but petered out quickly when I came down with a nasty cold. Week 1 Grades Walking - B I walked to the metro 5 times this week and really enjoyed each of the walks. I stayed home from work one day last week, so I think walking 5 out of 8 times is great! Running - C I ran once before I came down with my cold. Feeling better now and will get back on track this week. Quilting - A I spent 3 hours quilting this week. Completed another hand-pieced block and got halfway through machine-piecing a top for a baby quilt.
  16. I like your goals too. I'm discovering that I should focus more on simplicity. Thanks for the inspiration of simple goals! Hope this first week is going well
  17. Good to know. I tried it last fall and made it through the first 3 weeks, but each workout was definitely a struggle. I felt much better running yesterday, helped by the fact that I've improved my fitness level since then with other activities. Thanks!!
  18. Mini challenges are posted each week in the main Adventurer message board. You can find the first one HERE My new challenge thread is HERE
  19. So far goals 1, 3 & 4 are going great. I've already walked to/from the metro stop 4 times this week (soon to be 5 as I'm heading home). DH and I went running yesterday. We skipped week 1 of C25K and did the first session on week 2. It went really smoothly and we actually did a bit of extra running because I wasn't paying close enough attention to the stopwatch. Monday night I spent 1.5 hours quilting and finished hand-piecing a block. (I'll post some pics soon). I also took my measurements and discovered that I've lost 5.2 lbs since the start of the previous challenge. Now about goal 2...I think revamping this goal will be my mini challenge for this week. Ultimately it's where I want to be, but I have too many other things on my plate right to really put my best foot forward toward this goal (in this challenge). Since I don't want to set myself up for failure, I'm thinking of scaling this goal back. I'll update the top of my thread once I finalize a new goal, but at the moment I think my goal will be to have a piece of fruit or crudite as my afternoon snack at work.
  20. Hello fellow rebels! This is my second challenge and I'm looking forward to continuing the progress I made on the first challenge. I'm also looking forward to getting to know all of you and following your progress. Here's to a great first week!!
  21. Great goals! The liquid calories thing can make a big difference. That was one of the first diet changes I made a couple of years ago. I switched to nothing but water and tea (unsweetened cold or hot). I've relaxed more about it now, but I still tend toward those things with exceptions for beer & wine. Best of luck in this challenge!
  22. Awesome goals! You might want to pick some sort of training plan for the first one to work up to running a 5K by the end of the challenge. For the grading you could do some sort of weighting. Maybe 50% of the grade is pass/fail on whether or not you can successfully run a 5K without stopping and the other 50% is based on completing your training plan every week?
  23. I hear you on the expense of eating out. I've found that planning out my week in advance helps control the spending on food/activities. I also feel less guilty if the decision to spend money isn't as spontaneous. Good luck!!
  24. Great goals! I finished school about a year ago and it was definitely a process to get back into my hobbies (i.e., remembering that I actually enjoy reading). Looking forward to following you this challenge
