Hi! I am back....again. Nerd Fitness helped me lose weight before, and I'm sure it will again. But right now I'm dealing with insomnia which I found out is a sign that my schizophrenia is worsening. I'm hoping to get through it before I have to see a doctorÂ
-
Trying to get back on Nerd Fitness but it's tough with a baby. Anyone have advice on losing weight while breastfeeding?
-
It's a delicate balance for sure. You will naturally need a slightly larger calorie intake to support your milk production. That being said - if you focus your diet on things that are healthy for you (fruit, veggies and the like) you may lose some weight from dropping the sugar & junk. You can exercise like normal - that won't affect your milk supply, just be sure to gain your calories from healthy options - a drop in calories will affect your milk supply.
-
My midwife said not to *try* to lose weight while breastfeeding, because that could lead to low milk supply and under-nourishing you, but just to eat plenty of healthy foods and exercise (that, of course, depending on your own care provider's advice). You can check out my recent challenges for the ways I've been trying to ease back.

Is Lululemon worth the hype?

I love the way Lululemon looks and fits, but I stick to the tops, shorts, and sports bras. I've had bad luck with their capris & pants pilling terribly, even without a wash.
-
Eh. I like Old Navy compression wear for half the price
-
Target and Champion do me ok and way cheaper. Except bras, those I buy at snooty running stores.

How is everyone's challenge going?
-
Going to join this challenge. Main goal this month is to be strong and stand with my husband and not allow my parents to push us apart

Thank you guys!
-
Hey LO. Common and challenge with us! Hugs!
-
I wasn't able to join the challenge. But I am still working out and eating right Need some help, I'm going to have a baby January 1st and although my parents promised to send me baby clothes, and stuff they had...they lied. Big time. My hubby and I are on a budget so what do we absolutely need before the baby arrives? We are doing cloth diapers and I'm breastfeeding.
-
Congratulations on your baby! Cloth diapers and breastfeeding, I survived 7 children in this fashion, nothing wrong with back to basics!
-
Thank you! It also saves a lot of money. What diapers did you use? We have 20 Gerber 6-ply, prefolds
-
you could ask at your shower for a diaper service (they take them away, wash them, and bring back clean ones). Also fill the freezer with casseroles. And ask your parents nicely about those baby clothes when due date gets closer, they may quit procrastinating when their grandchild is imminent.

Feeling depressed. I don't think I'm good enough to take care of a baby or be the wife my husband deserves. Trying to better myself, but it's not enough for me :-(

Please speak to your OB about your feelings of helplessness. They can help!
-
My wife says this kind of thing all the time. I guarantee that your husband disagrees with you completely on this.
-
Don't think that way you are awesome :-)
-
Hey guys! Morning sickness is over and I'm ready to get back to working out. Close to 5 months being pregnant, and I've lost over 35 pounds lol. Is it to late to start a challenge? Any advice on what I can do to prepare for the baby is wanted!
-
Know I said I wanted to start a new challenge but I was delayed by morning sickness. I'm pregnant with twins possibly!!

haha well congratulations. i think all of those are legitimate reasons to vanish for a bit
-
Congrats!! What state are you in now?
-
The challenge is in week 5 atm, but you could always give yourself a mini-challenge to get back into it.
-
I'm back on NF, so when does the next challenge start?

Awesome you're back. It should be in 3 weeks if I'm doing my math correct. Too lazy to check it
-
The 23rd is right unless they take a 2 week break which I haven't heard is happening, but you never know. Do you have a battle log you can post on until the next Challenge is up? How are you?
-
Woohoo welcome back!!!!
-
Is it possible to go down 3 sizes in 3 months?
-
Had a friend who (through extreme dieting and working out) lose 100 lbs. in three months, so, yeah, it's very doable.
-
Not sure if that would be the healthiest way though. You'd lose LBM as well, for sure.
-
Depends where you're starting at as well, I think. I've found each size to be a different % of my body weight. Your results may vary!

Posted my before pic, it aint pretty :-/
-
It ain't ugly, either.
-
Oh lord I hate my before pics! They are buried in old threads somewhere.. blaaah...
-
Many months and pounds from now, you will look at it and be thrilled. Just remember - it's your body, the only one you've got. Love it! It's wonderful as is, but you can always make improvements.
-

I almost gave up on my challenge, but I need to stick it out, it's a new year. And I want to look hot on my wedding day!!
-
Wedding day?! Holy Shite! I've been out of it, sorry.
So when is the day?
P.S. So glad you didn't throw any towels in.
-
You can fall, you can fail, but you just can't give up! Keep your eye on the prize, LostOne!
-
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I'm sure you'll look awesome. Just keep on track and remember that your spouse to be loved you just the way you were and will continue to love you whatever you become. That's what's important.

Haven't started out so great, I feel like a failure, and that I'm just going to fail this challenge

You've only just begun! You can improve! Life isn't a one-time failure - if you're learning and growing, even if it's not ideal, you're still doing something right!
-
Always remember life gets in the way sometimes and don't let hiccups ruin your whole outlook, you can do it.
-
You are NOT going to fail this challenge!
Have a truly rotten day if you need to, but then tomorrow is still an unknown. Don't write your history before it happens! If you end up failing in 6 weeks, fine, it happens to all of us. But if let yourself fail now, you won't feel any better. Please, I love you and don't want you to seal your fate before it evens get going. Have a tough, crappy challenge, but have one. K?
Big Hugs!
