  1. The Changed Life 11/12/2014November 12, 2014If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. —2 Corinthians 5:17 What understanding do you have of the salvation of your soul? The work of salvation means that in your real life things are dramatically changed. You no longer look at things in the same way. Your desires are new and the old things have lost their power to attract you. One of the tests for determining if the work of salvation in your life is genuine is— has God changed the things that really matter to you? If you still yearn for the old things, it is absurd to talk about being born from above— you are deceiving yourself. If you are born again, the Spirit of God makes the change very evident in your real life and thought. And when a crisis comes, you are the most amazed person on earth at the wonderful difference there is in you. There is no possibility of imagining that you did it. It is this complete and amazing change that is the very evidence that you are saved. What difference has my salvation and sanctification made? For instance, can I stand in the light of 1 Corinthians 13 , or do I squirm and evade the issue? True salvation, worked out in me by the Holy Spirit, frees me completely. And as long as I “walk in the light as He is in the light†(1 John 1:7), God sees nothing to rebuke because His life is working itself into every detailed part of my being, not on the conscious level, but even deeper than my consciousness.
  2. OORAH!! There are 700 zombies on the course, they form packs and you have to dodge them otherwise they'll grab your flags. It's like a better version of flag football. Thanks Bard! I will not only give a report but I'll post as many photos as I can! Aaaaaw! And I'm looking forward to yours Day 1: Went well, no workout and I spent almost all day on NF getting this all done. And I say success! Day 2: Ran and walked with my dog 4 miles, the hills were the killers. My dog was really tired when we got back. 250 pushups, 100 squats, and 106 crunches in 2 min. I also did 50 Hanging Leg Raises in the mare motel. 5 things done: Dishes, Laundry, Helped with dinner, Babysat the nephews, and dumped then cleaned the horses water troughs. Prayers were done, but this habit will take some getting used to. After just a spoonful of food in my mouth I remembered I'm to pray before I eat lol. But I did it and all three. Tomorrow I will be studying, cleaning, and adding weight training because I want to get stronger for my race. Also after 45 min. studying I'll take a few min. to workout and do some chores in order to give my brain a break.
  3. Welcome and I'm so glad to have you I'm doing a fast myself with food. I've given up TV because it took my focus away from God, and the way sex is portrayed as just an act and nothing special also gave me impure thoughts. And I gave up certain foods and am only eating good foods. I have abused the blessing of having food by emotionally eating to sooth myself, and I need to go to God for help instead of relying on food. I have to say it's really freeing lol. Awesome motivation, tell your husband thank you for serving and defending this country. And may God bless you and your family greatly.
  4. Subb'd! And welcome to the Heroes and Warriors in Training, I love your goals. I'll be praying for you.
  5. Still looking for members :) :http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/56422-heroes-and-warriors-in-training/

  6. The Supreme Climb 11/11/2014November 11, 2014He said, "Take now your son…" —Genesis 22:2 God’s command is, “Take now,†not later. It is incredible how we debate! We know something is right, but we try to find excuses for not doing it immediately. If we are to climb to the height God reveals, it can never be done later— it must be done now. And the sacrifice must be worked through our will before we actually perform it. “So Abraham rose early in the morning…and went to the place of which God had told him†(Genesis 22:3). Oh, the wonderful simplicity of Abraham! When God spoke, he did not “confer with flesh and blood†(Galatians 1:16). Beware when you want to “confer with flesh and blood†or even your own thoughts, insights, or understandings— anything that is not based on your personal relationship with God. These are all things that compete with and hinder obedience to God. Abraham did not choose what the sacrifice would be. Always guard against self-chosen service for God. Self-sacrifice may be a disease that impairs your service. If God has made your cup sweet, drink it with grace; or even if He has made it bitter, drink it in communion with Him. If the providential will of God means a hard and difficult time for you, go through it. But never decide the place of your own martyrdom, as if to say, “I will only go to there, but no farther.†God chose the test for Abraham, and Abraham neither delayed nor protested, but steadily obeyed. If you are not living in touch with God, it is easy to blame Him or pass judgment on Him. You must go through the trial before you have any right to pronounce a verdict, because by going through the trial you learn to know God better. God is working in us to reach His highest goals until His purpose and our purpose become one.
  7. Go for those pretty nails!! Subb'd and will be following with great interest.
  8. Woot!! Will be cheering you on! Glad your first day went well.
  9. Subb'd!! Woot you can do it Teri!! My challenge is up btw. And my bf is on NF his username is Fraidenfur, he'll be in this challenge.
  10. This Saturday the zombies arrive!! This Saturday I'll be running in the Black-ops. It's a obstacle course race which is done at night, 700 zombies on a 3 mile course, 15 or more obstacles, and if I finish without any life flags I get a medal that says "Infected". I want the medal with "Survivor" on it Also I've decided that February when I'll be ready to join the Marines. No more postponing it. Goal 1: Prayer: Prayer will save me against zombies. I will pray before every meal I have, and not a quick one, one that is full of thought. I really want this to turn into a habit. (Wis. +2) A: A prayer before every meal B: Miss one C: Missed two D: Missed every meal F: All week and no prayer Goal 2: Training: Workout at least 3x a week. More than just running, I need to work my entire body out if I want to make it in the Marines. (Str. +2, Dex. +2, Con. +1) A: More than 3x a week B: 3/3 C: 2/3 D: 1/3 F: No training Goal 3: Studying: On my days off of working out I'll spend the day studying. Math, Science, Philosophy, Zulu, Latin, Spanish, and the ASVAB. It's a lot, but when I have all day to do it, it will be worth it. (Con. +1, Wis +2) A: Study 4/4 B: 3/4 C: 2/4 D: 1/4 F: No studying at all Goal 4: Running the Ranch: As it is, I'm taking care of everything on the ranch and house. But I know there's more I could do. So I'll make a list of at least 4 big things that need to be done. I'm trying to prepare for real life, and life as a wife to my future husband. I am no good to anyone if I'm not giving 100% to my own home. (Cha. +3) A: 4/4 B: 3/4 C: 2/4 D: 1/4 F: Nothing done This will be most likely my toughest challenge. As it is, I'm also taking care of my Accountabilibuddy group Heroes and Warriors in Training, fasting TV and certain foods, and trying to raise money for Christmas gifts. Its a lot of stuff but I can take it with God's help. And I will make it.
  11. Today's Devotions: Fellowship in the Gospel11/10/2014November 10, 2014…fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ… —1 Thessalonians 3:2 After sanctification, it is difficult to state what your purpose in life is, because God has moved you into His purpose through the Holy Spirit. He is using you now for His purposes throughout the world as He used His Son for the purpose of our salvation. If you seek great things for yourself, thinking, “God has called me for this and for that,†you barricade God from using you. As long as you maintain your own personal interests and ambitions, you cannot be completely aligned or identified with God’s interests. This can only be accomplished by giving up all of your personal plans once and for all, and by allowing God to take you directly into His purpose for the world. Your understanding of your ways must also be surrendered, because they are now the ways of the Lord. I must learn that the purpose of my life belongs to God, not me. God is using me from His great personal perspective, and all He asks of me is that I trust Him. I should never say, “Lord, this causes me such heartache.†To talk that way makes me a stumbling block. When I stop telling God what I want, He can freely work His will in me without any hindrance. He can crush me, exalt me, or do anything else He chooses. He simply asks me to have absolute faith in Him and His goodness. Self-pity is of the devil, and if I wallow in it I cannot be used by God for His purpose in the world. Doing this creates for me my own cozy “world within the world,†and God will not be allowed to move me from it because of my fear of being “frost-bitten.†This fits our first day at the NF challenge to me.
  12. Welcome All Who Enter Here The 6-week challenge is upon us again, are you ready? Although the time of knights and dragons is over, until we turn on the consoles and PC , we still battle against our own personal demons, dragons, monsters, and sin. This group is dedicated to keeping God first, and helping each other battle those forces of evil. After all, "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." (James 5:16) Just because we are soldiers under God's command doesn't mean we are to do it alone. With Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year coming around the corner our goals, whatever they may be, will be tested. 1. You can sign up at the link, in the Cross Guilds section. 2. Put your goals up 3. I'll put your name down as a member! That easy! I'll put up daily devotions, and it's not mandatory but discussions about it are encouraged. Also a prayer list will be put up to, everyday. But the prayers don't have to have specifics, they can be simple and brief. New Members please read The devotions I'm using is not only online, but on the Youversion Bible app. So if you can't get on Nerd Fitness you can just pull it up on your phone! 13. Check out Batman of Shanghai and Black Lightning on YouTube. Why weren't these made into shows instead of Teen Titans Go??

  14. Heya! Welcome to NF! Battle Logs are where you log in your eating, and workouts for everyone to see. It keeps you more accountable and helps you to see what you're doing. Bands are also cheaper and good to, plus they don't take room. Your bodyweight is a great weight to, Calisthenics are amazing to use when losing weight. NF has free workouts on the blog, and I know a bunch of free workouts on YouTube. I love to run lol But I get if you don't want to (for now yuk yuk). American Parkour has workouts that range from beginner to expert to help you get in shape to. WOD drive has a lot of workouts to. And you can tweak them to fit you. Pilates are good for starting fitness to, POP pilates on YouTube has really good ones! If you're strapped for time HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is fast and a great workout. 12 minute Athlete, Zuzka Light, and Daily HIIT have short workouts lasting no longer than 12 minutes. Remember abs are made in the kitchen. A successful weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. If you have no clue Adventurers are where everyone starts. They're for beginners who are unsure, and some stay there even after figuring it out. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! PM me anytime and again, welcome.
  15. I just found out that Ebola has hit Nigeria close to where my friend lives. Please keep him and his family in prayer, he's my best friend :'(

    1. El Exorcisto

      El Exorcisto

Rest happy. Nigeria is going on 50+ days without a new case of ebola.

    2. Terinatum

      Terinatum

I will send him a prayer right now.

  16. Goal 1: A: My ankles feel a lot stronger! I didn't do drills really but I noticed a difference when I run on hard surfaces. I want to try more weights since the race is coming up, I got some bands so I'll try it. Goal 2: B: Yeah I missed some days, this was the hardest because all I could think of was what I had to do. I have to remember to take a step back and enjoy the little things. Not only is it a Zombieland rule but it's a good rule for life. I really loved this goal because I got to enjoy my games again. Goal 3: C: Unfortunately using a borrowed laptop has it's drawbacks. But we've worked it out so I'll be better the next challenge. Life Goal: F: I can fit in them, just not sit down lol so it's a fail. Overall Grade: C: I'm gonna move up a level but I know I could've done way better. And next challenge my race is coming up so I need to push harder to get lighter and run faster. Next challenge will be a lot tougher. And I know I can do it, it's not impossible to achieve I just need discipline. And thanks to the fellow Nerds on here and trial and error I'm getting really good at planning it all out instead of just, flying by the seat of my pants. I'm going to start a Accountabilibuddies that focuses on encouraging not only in our goals, but in growth in God. There will be prayer lists but they don't have to be specific, and even Nerds who are not part of the group can leave prayer requests. And daily devotions that are simple and quick. Anyone is welcome!
  17. I had a big plan today to do so much stuff, but I think I'm sick. Or getting there. My entire body was sore, I had a headache, and nosebleeds. Felt better this evening so it was weird. I tried to take a nap but couldn't do it because I was to hot and had to get up. I didn't run but walked 3 miles and did 50 leg raises but that's it. Got the dishes done, room almost finished, horses got brushed, and I studied a bit. Tomorrow I'll be spending the whole day with my parents. We're going to a Swap meet, and then hitting the stores to finish our grocery shopping. Long day but I'm looking forward to it . I'm taking my books and sketch pad. Would you believe I almost have my sketch pad filled?? Will need a new one soon! So tonight I will set up a plan to get my training done, shower, and all set for when we have to leave. Which means I have to get up at 5: 30 am. Wish me luck and send your prayers please.
  18. End of the challenge Monday, how's everyone doing?

My best recommendation is to pick only one of those areas to work on to start with. Make it a 6-week challenge goal. then the next 6 weeks can be a different one.

I got a calender now in A5 with one page for one day, contains tasks, priority, check if done, daily goal, .. :)

  22. Wasn't able to workout yesterday due to me going with my parents shopping. I got some cool books on courting and studying the Bible, and watched my nephew Moses walk around Costco. I followed him of course haha and since he loves to push things he helped some nice strangers push their carts around. Strong little guy. Ran just 1-mile today but it was fun! 13: 54 my time was hindered by loads of hills, a lot of coyotes and my dad's dog that I take on runs with me ditched me again. So I was alone in the wilderness. Next time I'll take MY dog! I found some diet books I used to read, and then a runner's blog showed a diet she used to prepare for races, even obstacle races. There is no one diet for everyone, because we're all different internally as well as externally. For me, I am really sensitive to wheat, rice, sugar, some red meats, and also some vegetables. I cannot just have salad, it will hurt my stomach actually. But if I have eggs, and salad with ice water it's better. I have to have some protein with my veggies. Anyways, I will be doing a sort of Paleo diet. No more breads, sugar, etc. More fat and more veggies for sure, and also cut down on condiment use with my salads and other foods. As far as fruit, I really am loving dates, they're so sweet they fix my sugar crave easy. And my bf said I might be always tired from iron deficiency, dates have the fix and I'm gonna use the iron cookware to make my eggs now. Black tea every morning to because coffee doesn't sit well with me. This will not only help me lose weight but improve my running. Pray for me because this is big for me. I'm going to try and eat more, but in little bits and use the small plates we have for measurement. Also it's close to Halloween and my family has a lot of chips, candy, ice cream, and other junk food. Weight lifting everyday, and running of course around twice a day. Sunday will be rest. I also have studying to do, drawing to practice, house to clean, animals to care for, and work to do because I want to get some money for Christmas. I have some really good friends I want to send presents to, and this year my family are going to draw names for gifts. This has been my toughest, most rewarding year in my whole life. But I won't stop I want to succeed and nothing good comes easy. Will post my day tonight.
