  1. I may be late on posting my wrap-up, but I just got back from a 10-day vacation and I want to "complete" my first challenge (located HERE). I ended up doing fairly well. I planned to WORKOUT at least 4 times per week. I had a couple good weeks, but also a couple bad ones. I ended up averaging 3.5 times per week. According to my scoring criteria, I scored 75%. With this I earned 3 --> STR, 1.5 --> DEX. For my TRANSITION TO PALEO I think I did well overall. I had a couple slip ups along the road, but I didn't let them phase me. I ended my 6-week challenge fairly close to all paleo and plan to stick with it. For this, I earned 2 --> CON, 2 --> WIS. My third fitness goal was to RUN 5km on a treadmill. My best time over the course of the challenge was 26:15, better than the 27 min required to earn me an A. For this I earned 2 --> STA. My final goal was to STOP PROCRASTINATING ON SCHOOLWORK and get it turned in early. I was to take 5% of my "earnings" for every assignment that wasn't turned in early. According to this, I lost 10% (2 assignments). I has a total of 3 --> WIS set for this goal, but for simplicity's sake, and this being my first challenge, I will award myself 2 --> WIS. I look forward to the next challenge.
  2. Two great gym workouts so far this week. Most of the schoolwork is done already!
  3. Thank you for the motivation. I was due a day off anyways. Today I spent about 3 hours doing yard work so I think I made up for that "lost exercise" from yesterday.
  4. I made it to the gym again on Friday. That was 5 out of 5 days of working out. Pretty good!!! I had planned to do some sort of exercising today that would have consisted of lots of walking and playing with the kids in the park, but the weather was horrible.
  5. Another successful day! Plus, I have accomplished my 5km goal. I ran 3.2 miles on the treadmill (according to Google that equals 5.1499 km) in 26m15s. That is under the 27 min goal I started with. I am so happy!!!! My meals were also 100% Paleo approved, and delicious.
  6. Awesome legs workout today. Plus a good bit of core work. That's three days in a row that I've made it to the gym. My plan is to run tomorrow........as long as my legs are functioning Hopefully I can bag a good time in a 5k (on the treadmill). Food was good today, no slip up.
  7. So far this week I have had two excellent gym days, one that included a two-mile run on the treadmill. My diet hasn't been the best though. Breakfasts, dinners and snacks have been all Paleo all the time, but yesterday the little shop where I work was out of EVERYTHING that is even remotely healthy, so I had had to settle for a bowl of noodles and a tuna & crackers kit. I hope to do another test run at 5 km at some point this week. Hopefully I've made some progress so I can put in a good time next week.
  8. To recap this week...........I would say I did pretty good. I made it to the gym 4 days this week (including a couple runs on the treadmill), got all of my school work turned in early, and except for the hiccup on Thursday I have eaten very well. Hopefully I can carry this momentum into next week.
  9. Well, I did check out a lot of different challenge threads, but didn't comment on any, but I did reach out to a couple friend that I haven't spoken/written to in a while. I also went to an office get-together Friday evening. In the 2+ years that I have had this job, there's never been any socializing outside of the office. So a couple hours at the bowling alley with all of our families was a really good time. It was nice to finally put faces to the names of the spouses, kids and girlfriends we all talk about every day. I guess this netted me +1 CHA and a Babel Fish Even though I didn't comment in other threads this week, I think I will continue to look through them and participate a little more. Hopefully that will net me some new friends, good advice, and more motivation.
  10. Friday went well. Diet was good and I had a really good workout too. Today I finished and submitted a paper that's due tomorrow. That means I had another successful week of getting work turned in early!
  11. Today was a planned "off day" and it couldn't have happened on a better day. I woke up with a very sore throat and feeling like I was in a car wreck. I'm feeling a lot better now so I'll be back in the gym tomorrow. Unfortunately feeling like crap brought some laziness and weakness to my day. I was too lazy to prepare my lunch before going to work so I picked up a turkey and cheese sandwich. It seems nearly impossible to find anything to eat where I work that fits into the paleo diet.
  12. I have several friends that I have not been in contact with in a very long time, although I've thought about it a lot recently. I'll check back in later to let you all know if/when I make contact. I'll also look to make a couple NF friends.
  13. Three days into this week and I'm doing great. I've been to the gym every day during an extended lunch period, eaten a good paleo diet (with the exception of a little whey protein powder), and I have finished most of my school work for the week.
  14. kind of fell of the paleo wagon..............at a philly cheesesteak. it just looked and smelled so good. guess I just gotta dust myself off and get back on
  15. It's Friday night and I've kept at it. Did a full body workout yesterday so I took today off. Probably do like weights and run tomorrow.
