Saturday, March 29, 2014 CrossFit WOD: 15 Minute AMRAP (with a partner): 20 Box Jumps 20 Shoulder Press (45 lbs) 20 Ab-Mat Sit Ups [50 Double Unders as a pacer] ~ Teamed with with fellow Nerd Cheechoe on this workout. Forget how I did - freaking Cheechoe strung up a bunch of Double Unders masterfully! I had to stop doing box jumps (or step ups in my case) because I was in awe of her awesomeness! After that workout came.... CrossFit Games Open Workout 14.5! For time 21-18-15-12-9-6-3 reps of: Thrusters, 95 / 65 lb. Burpees ~ Time was 26:23. I paced myself way too slowly for this workout at the beginning which caused me to have such a late time. I was told by other CrossFitters that it was a demanding workout, and I thought I could anticipate it by pacing myself throughout it. Anyways, I'll post pictures soon!
  2. Friday, March 28, 2014 CFC WOD TabataRotation: Pull Ups Thrusters 95/65 ~ Did 40 reps prescribed. Took it easy today due to the upcoming dreadful 14.5. ~ Went on a 5.6 mile run with Cheechoe. We always have interesting conversations when we go on runs. Hill sprints next!
  3. Thursday, March 27, 2014 CrossFit WOD: For Time: 800 Meter Run 30 Cleans (75 lbs) 1,000 Meter Row ~ Time was 14:30. Good cardio type workout with the running and rowing. The cleans were messy, though. I probably could've had better form, but when I do that many reps it tends to break down. ~ Weighed in at 194.4 this morning. Interesting to see how my weight fluctuates... ~ Great news! My brother in Chi-Town said we could check out a comedy show that weekend. Definitely looking forward to that.

  8. Monday, March 24, 2014 CrossFit WOD 8 Minute AMRAP (As Many Reps as Possible) of Man-Makers (45 lbs/ 30 lbs) ~ Score was 22 reps of 35 lbs. This. sucked. majorly. ~ After my brother confirmed that he was off during the weekend of April 25, I went ahead and bought tickets to Chicago! The tickets weren't expensive at all ($292), and it looks like I'll be able to check out a comedy show as well as C2E2. I'm pretty excited that I'll get to attend a large convention. I just noticed on the website that Stan Lee will be there! (Although I'm pretty sure I'll be gawking at all the cos-players....)
  9. Saturday, March 22, 2014 After the Saturday WOD with Cheechoe (man-makers! Ugh!), it was time for: CrossFit Open Workout 14.4! 14 minute AMRAP: 60-calorie row 50 toes-to-bars 40 wall-ball shots, 20 / 14 lb. 30 cleans, 135 / 95 lb. 20 muscle-ups ~ Score was 135. I didn't have any issues with the rowing and made sure to pace myself. The 50 Toes-to-Bars was the most difficult, and I ended up doing singles towards the end. Also, I'm not the best at Wall Ball Shots so that wore me out. Anyways, I'm proud of my score especially since I was recovering from my cold.

Friday, March 21, 2014 CrossFit WOD ForTime: 600 meter Run 55 JumpingSquats 50 Barbell "Good Mornings" (75 lbs / 45 lbs) 45 Ab-Mat SitUps 40 Floor Swipers (75/45) 30 Jumping Lunges ~ Time was 10:25! The Floor Swipers were brutal on the abs. A unique workout indeed. ~ Weighed in today at 194.2 lbs. I guess being sick got me to lose a few pounds.... ~ Went on a 5.6 Mile Run with Cheechoe. Great weather, too. We went at a light pace, but still got some good cardio in...

  23. Friday, March 14, 2014 CrossFit WOD: Tabata Rotation (18 rounds): DB Bench Press (45/30) Bent Over Row (95/65) Wall Ball Shots (20/14) ~ My total amount of reps was (at least) 115. I kinda lost count during this workout. I did it RX as well. Then.... CROSSFIT GAMES OPEN WOD 14.3 ! MEN - includes Masters Men up to 54 years old Complete as many reps as possible in 8 minutes of: 135-lb. deadlifts, 10 reps 15 box jumps, 24-inch 185-lb. deadlifts, 15 reps 15 box jumps, 24-inch 225-lb. deadlifts, 20 reps 15 box jumps, 24-inch 275-lb. deadlifts, 25 reps 15 box jumps, 24-inch 315-lb. deadlifts, 30 reps 15 box jumps, 24-inch 365-lb. deadlifts, 35 reps 15 box jumps, 24-inch ~ Since I can't do the Open WOD tomorrow (due to Cheechoe's tournament), I did it today after the regular WOD. My score was 93 reps. I know I could've done better, but the large volume of Dead Lifts had my lower back reeling. I did step-ups as a substitute for the box jumps which wasn't an issue. By the time I got to the 275 lbs Dead Lifts, I was exhausted!
