  1. 'cus let's face it, I'm never going to take down Spider-man on my own! But seriously, I'm looking for a friend or two (or 5) to share stories with and work together to improve our fitness. Whilst I'm fairly active with my karate training, I've definitely been slacking on the fitness recently, which my bathroom scales can confirm. I want to work towards improving my upper body strength, but with useful muscle. Maybe getting into rock climbing for example. Or maybe set some daily push up/pull down challenges. I look forward to hearing from anyone who wants to help or talk. Or even just to get that damn wallcrawler once and for all
  2. Have you got any goals clayt? If there's something you want to aim for there you can ask for specific advice on how to get there. If not, is there any one you admire that you feel like you could learn from? Good luck with everything, hope it all goes well
  3. Thinking of doing the 30 day squat challenge. But with pull ups and push ups. Maybe twice a day with push ups. Not necessarily all in succession but all within one sit in (or within a time scale)

Good luck, I started one back in May and only got to day 23. Hope you're more successful than I was!!

  4. I love this challenge. I just did 25, but I used to be able to do a lot more. I'm gonna work on this, upload a video of proof once I get a higher amount, and get my belt =]
  5. Hi Adam. Welcome to NF. I've always found NF to be a very supportive community so I hope you'll find the encouragement you'll need to support your change. As for being Paleo, I made the change last year, or started at least, changing my diet bit by bit, and feel much better because of it. I'd suggest going for it, at least a week trial and see how you feel
  6. Welcome Marius. Hope you achieve your goals. I'd recommend joining the next 6 week challenge as a good place to put these goals into motion
  7. Hi TLS. Hope your challenge goes well, and more importantly hope you feel a bit better about yourself afterwards. Just one query , you say you wanna lose some weight but your Bmi is 21, which is pretty much perfect. I know its a good idea to stop taking in so much sugar (I have this problem myself, such a sweet tooth) but I'm not sure you need to lose the weight. Happy challenging

    Feelin' good!

This sounds like a lot of fun. Its nice that you can do it with your family too. I need to find some courses like this
  9. sorry for the lack of updates (sorry to myself I guess as it's for my benefit). Life's kinda got in the way of getting online much and sometimes my challenges. I missed my run on Friday which I was disappointed about. Just got back from my run this morning, 5.01k (did a slight detour to get that extra 0.1k in) in a time of 22:53. I'm sure that time should be getting faster. Oh well, no stops today, ran from start to finish. Been stretching everyday though which is good. Been a bit harder to get the workouts in but I'm trying where I can. Will keep better track of my activities
  10. Was dumbbells last night. I do like body weight type exercises though so think today I'm going to do a push up orientated work out. There's a good work out video posted by the Bar Brothers on youtube that I'll work to
  11. Update day 3 My run this morning was 4.9k again. Was a bit windy out and I thought my time would be a lot worse, but when I just uploaded my work out I found my time was 22:46, only about 8 seconds slower than monday. I didnt think my running would be quite that consistent. Managed to do some really good partner stretching today with a friend after karate. Which sounds really gay, but it actually works really well. If I stretched this hard everyday I'm sure I'd be doing the splits in no time. Time to work on my muscles now, well as soon as I've posted this post. Gonna do some weights focusing on arms and shoulders. Some serious squats coming tomorrow I think
  12. Ha I'm sure that's not the case. Starting to think a Raptor Run app could actually make a lot of money.
  13. Thanks kishi, that's kinda what I needed to hear. I shouldn't be trying to fit my daily life into the challenges, I should be fitting the challenges into my daily life. Will do something tonight more specific to training, maybe arms and shoulders.
  14. Ha I loved this. What kind of dog is he?Wish I had a dog to go running with. Well done on your first work out =]
  15. Just a quick update and a few replies. so, on Monday, day 1, I went out with the darts team that my dad and brother play for, so definitely got some social points in there. Finding the time to work on some muscles is actually proving to be more difficult than I hoped. Managed An hour and a half of Wing Chun today, left my arms and shoulder feeling sore, so I'm hoping I can count that as my workout?? Also, getting some stretches, can do them while playing games on my phone or reading a book, cus that's the kind of multi-tasker I am. I would deffinitely buy an app where I had to run away from Raptors. Very excited to find the Zombies, Run game has launched some new story lines today, have been waiting for them for a while. I have long legs, they do all the work for me "Never trust quotes you find on the internet! - Abraham Lincoln I come from Stratford-upon-avon, pretty much central of the country. Only famous for the fact that William Shakespeare was born here (but got away as quickly as he could). Where are you from Cheechoe?
  16. Right well now I want to reset all my challenges. I think, I can probably change the goal name of each to something dino-related. I'm also really excited about the new JP trilogy they is supposed to be coming out soon. But they have been saying this for years. Thanks for the encouragement RisenPhoenix. Are you doing the challnege?
  17. Thanks for the advice Kishi, really appreciate it. I'm hoping I will be able to make the time each day to strengthen my body. All in all, about an hour a day split between running, stretching and exercising shouldn't be too hard to do. I mean, there's enough time that I'm sat around doing nothing trying to think of something to do. Elder, glad to have your support. Will keep it updated as much as possible. So, morning of day 1. Just been out for a run. 4.9k completed in 22:48 minutes. had a 30 second rest walk about 3.7k in which I was dissapointed about because I feel like I should of just kept pushing that little extra bit to complete it all without slowing. But, looking at my speed (I use nike+) I was slowing down, and once I rested my speed dramatically increased
  18. This will be my first time attempting the 6 week challenge. I'm very excited to get started and post my progress. first of all, I hope I'm posting in the right place. I'm not gonna bore you with too many details, here's the main things you need to know: 1) I'm male 2) I'm 27 3) I've been practising Tang Soo Do for about 5 years. 4) I live in England 5) I really like dinosaurs So, my goals are as follows: 1) Run from those Raptors. I run already, but fairly infrequently.I can run at a reasonable pace, for fairly long distances, but sometimes I can go weeks without running. I'd like to start falling into a regular routine of running, I would quite like to compete in a marathon at some point in the near future and realise a regular training routine is a key part to getting there. By the end of 6 weeks I'd like to be completing at least 30k a week. And be ready for any Raptor attack of course 2) Stretch every day. This is something I always mean to do but never get round to doing. It would be really beneficial for my martial arts, for increased flexibility, so my kicks can be higher, and mainly because I really want to be able to do the splits some day. So, at least 10 minutes a day, and try to stretch for up to 30 minutes a few days a week 3) Dinosaurs don't like tough meat Work on some muscles. I do not have the body of a Greek Adonis. Silenus maybe. I don't expected to 'get ripped in 6 weeks' or any other amazing feats that hundreds of phony personal trainers promise on youtube etc, but again getting into a routine of doing some core activities that help strengthen my body, and help me stay in shape, is what I'd like to achieve. so, half an hour a day, focusing on one area of the body (i.e chest/triceps/shoulders, abs/core, legs) 4) Build a community to fight the dinosaurs with Be social. This will be my life goal for the next 6 weeks. At least once a week, do some kind of activity, with a group of friends (3 or more). I've lost contact with a lot of friends, some I see less regularly because of work and personal activities get in the way, some I've just neglected or vice versa. Time to make a change and try and rebuild some friendships. Would like to hear your views on my goals. I'd like some advice assigning some attribute points to my goals so I cant start levelling up my life. I'm also here to make friends if anyone wants to add me or message me or talk about martial arts or dinosaurs or anything else
  19. I feel Yoda has sold out. I see him in these Vodafone adverts recently and I just think, what went wrong? Does he need the money that badly? Can he not afford the heating to get him through this cold winter? Ha of course we can still be friends
  20. Thats what drew me to this post too. Good luck with your training Allons-y. The hardest bit is starting, but the best part is seeing all your improvements. When it comes to push ups, its amazing how quickly you can build these up, you can start by doing knee ones to build your strength and then progress from there.
  21. His fight scenes in 2 and 3 were so awesome and surprising, I don't think anyone was expecting them (well the first one at least).
  22. I need a week off so that I can watch all the Star Wars films without distractions. R2D2 and C3PO are brilliant. I don't know how R2D2 can come across as so cheeky when he can only beep and whistle, but you can tell he is. How does everyone feel about Yoda?
  23. Have you watched episode 6 yet elder? Guys if there's a comic-con near you you should just drag someone a long. Even if they aren't that interested in comics, there's normal plenty there. The one I went to had lots of actors doing signings. Plus there was a cosplay event which was really fun to watch. I need to get to one this year myself
