  1. Well then...haven't been on in a while and it's changed quite a bit!

  2. Well this is...awesome. (Sarcasm) I haven't read up much on Monsanto and all these things lately. Back in the day when I was in High School I was big on these sort of things...maybe it's time I start educated myself again.
  3. It's very awesome, and it's even more awesome to hear that they are already making more videos! Haha That's awesome. Glad you found inspiration in these! I will be starting another thread soon for this other guy I came across that is pretty awesome as well. All bodyweight routines again, but with a slightly different attitude I guess you could say. Sorry about that. Shoot. I will definitely look into it when I get home today, maybe request them to do that.
  4. Short and simple, I like it. Haha. This has been my thoughts about it and it's nice to have someone else confirm that!
  5. To catch them is my real test To train them is my cause! Haha
  6. So, I just read this article from a friend of mine on Facebook. Seems that natural foods are no longer going to be natural soon in the U.S....this is depressing news. Thoughts?
  7. Depends! Some people can go all out quick and some can't! Personally, I couldn't and just now on my...3rd 6 week challenge I have increased from 3 days to 5 day workouts (run every day 2 weeks swim every day 1 week, 3 days gym, 2 days body weight) so, if you have the mindset for it go for it, but don't push yourself if you feel like you aren't ready! Over do it and you will just kill yourself on workouts and give up in the long run, and that is not what you're aiming for!
  8. Welcome! I do agree with 27angel on your goals. Personally, I would stick to numbers 4,5 and 6. Those are a GREAT place to start. 2.5 liters a day, though it is about what your body needs, may be a bit harder. Some people have no trouble with it, some do. I would wait and just let that kind of roll into your new eating habits and working out. As that builds up, you will generally start drinking more water already. Number 2, from my understanding is for "weight loss" and "cleansing." But how much have you read into it? Basically, it gives you diarrhea. Of course this will cause *minimal weight loss and clean your system. But it's also going to cause other health issues if not controlled. I would personally stick to green tea with lemon and honey. The weight loss will come naturally with the new eating habits and exercise. It's best not to try to force something. On average, from what I have seen here, most people tend to lose about 10 pounds in the first 2 weeks of a Paleo lifestyle. Results of course do vary, but everyone gets there in time! Other than that, welcome to the Rebellion, good luck on your challenges and have fun!

  13. The owner of my gym helps me every night that I go. He put it this way; Supplements are great, but if you're just starting don't worry about pre-workout. The main things to get in are carbs and protein. So here's how I see it. You can either eat your carbs and protein (cheaper method, which I do use currently) so have like...pasta...a potato...something, and maybe a little chicken or some sort of protein, (not a whole lot) before your work out. Your body will use the carbs rather than the protein for energy, which you need to happen as protein helps rebuild the muscle. Post workout is when you can chug down a protein/carb mix shake or eat a good full meal of protein and a little extra carb as your body is still burning that energy. And honestly for push ups, you don't need to do much. Check out military.com as they have a shit load of advice especially on body weight workouts. The advice there for push ups is simply to pump them out as fast as possible. The slower you go, the quicker your muscles get tired, as gravity will work against you. Pump them out fast and you will see higher results. I used this method for the police pt and pumped out 65 push ups in one minute. Hope this all helps you, good luck!

  17. Almost succeeded in my week "cleanse" of reading up on fitness articles. I must say it did help make me more productive, but it's nice to get back into it the studying!

  18. Sorry to post so late, but here it is! NEW BAR BROTHERS!

  20. Don't need to spend money on some special belt. Use a backpack, or if you are going to the gym hold a dumbbell in between your calves. There are many ways you can add weight "unconventionally." No back pack or gym? Get a walmart bag or some other equivalent and fill it with dirt/rocks/something, and put your legs through the handles of the bag or use a string to tie it around your waist. Start thinking outside the box!
  21. Ah, sounds better than Hooters haha
  22. New self challenges. No cheat meals until I'm where I want to be with body fat and one week without reading anything fitness related.

    1. Ba'sini'on

      Ba'sini'on

Mind if I join you on the no cheat meals? But what do you mean. not reading anything fitness related?

    2. Synyster

      Synyster

Go for it! As for the other part, no Nerd Fitness, no BodyBuilding.com, no Bar Brothers, nothing related to fitness for a week. The purpose of this is to help get me away from reading or watching too much and confusing myself with what to do or what to try and just put what I have learned already to practice. Basically it will allow me more focus on what I need to get done and stop wasting time on the sites I don't need to be on all the time :P

  23. Youtube. Also book stores. Book stores such as Barnes&Noble have very many books/videos on beginner Tai Chi. Might also look into Tai Chi classes in your area. I have not practiced in ages now, but it does make a big difference. It takes time, as all things do, but after a year or so of practice, you will be able to look back and think..."Why hadn't I started sooner?"
  24. My trick to this. Negatives. Pull ups throughout the whole day, and negatives to failure. Also, add weight. What most people don't consider doing is putting on a back pack or something to add weight. It makes the biggest difference! Take it off after doing a set or two and see how different it is. You will increase very quickly. If my 0x0 to 3x10 in 6 weeks isn't good enough proof...I don't know what is. Also, different variations to work abs more. Strong abs help with a strong pull up. Explosiveness is important as well! Add power to that pull! 3-4 minutes is reasonable, but 1 minute is better. This is from personal experience so of course don't take it to heart, but do give it a try and you will most likely see awesome results!
  25. Denver is beautiful! Haha. It's been years since I have been there as well, used to go visit my great great gandparents when I was little. What's a Tilted Kilt? o.o
