  1. I got my fitbit about a month ago, and I love it! Feel free to add me: http://www.fitbit.com/user/24YXRZ
  2. Down another 3 lbs for a total loss of 7.8 lbs and a total loss of 1.4% body fat! As of today, I'm officially trying for 100% Paleo
  3. Looks like you have a great plan worked out!
  4. Thanks! Yep, I only weigh-in on Sundays! I love being able to eat as much as I want, and Paleo fills me up so it's not an issue! I'm very happy so far, and like I said, I know this is probably the 'honeymoon phase' but I did expect it to be much harder to start off. I've been eating a lot of the same foods over and over so far, so my next step is to experiment with recipes....
  5. Ooh, thank you for the Paleo suggestions! I have to say, I am shocked I have not been having carb/grain cravings at all so far...but I know that time will come eventually. I'm not 100% Paleo yet, and I sure that's why everything seems so under control at the moment. But, I was shocked to see the scale this morning: -4.8 pounds!
  6. Just finished two circuits of the basic body workout...probably could have done 3, but decided to hold off since I still need to go to the gym. My goal is to 15k steps logged on the fitbit for today, but i have a ways to go and not sure I can pull it off! I'm going to try! I think some moderate housework this evening might do the trick. Still doing great with food! I haven't gone 100% paleo and don't plan to until at least April 1st. I'm giving myself 30 days to get use to a 'mostly' paleo diet, I'm still feeling full and no cravings, so long as I eat regularly (DH and I were out running errands today and I waited a bit too long to eat, but I still did well and made good choices). So far, avoiding soda has been easy, too. I asked for a water cup at lunch and I didn't miss the soda at all. DH said he was interested in trying paleo with me, but so far he's not taken the step...which is fine. I have a feeling he might once I've been doing it awhile. We've both tried 'diets' in the past, but this is different. It's going to be different...but I don't think he's totally convinced yet, and that's okay.
  7. Did HIIT last night. My knees felt a bit sore but felt better once I was warmed up. Although I haven't been doing strict Paleo, I've been surprised by how long I stay full after eating. It also seems like my carb cravings are non-existent which is kinda weird! I'm sure at some point I'll get hit with it.
  8. No gym this morning. Went to bed late and would have only gotten 5hrs of sleep. I usually only get 6 hours as it is, which is bad enough! If I can get to bed early tonight, I might try tomorrow morning. It is time for lunch and I'm still feeling full from breakfast!
  9. Obviously, we are Star Trek nerds. We have a cabinet in the living room with various collectibles. In the tv room, we have small framed movie posters for Star Wars s well as a few other 80s movies. We also have a picture signed by Shanter, Nimoy, and Kelley. Anyone walking in our house would instantly see our nerdiness, and that's fine by me! We even had Star Trek themes throughout our wedding, including a Star Trek cake ( my avatar was our cake topper)
  10. Did well with food today! Had a minor mishap with lunch, but I didn't break down and cheat. The Paleo snacks I packed were enough to hold me over til dinner. Went to Pei Wei with my sister - it was my first time going, and I wasn't impressed. Overall, not as bas I expected-- think I'm pretty much ready to dive into full Paleo. Already packed up my breakfast and snacks for tomorrrow...just need to decide what to do for lunch. I'll be going back to the gym in the morning....
  11. After all my complaining, the gym this morning was awesome! Hardly anyone there and it was a great way to start the day. Planning on going again tomorrow. I also like that I get my fitbit exercise logged early so I know what the rest of my day needs to look like.
  12. I agree with all the others -- you are an inspiration! I hate having my picture taken, and pretty much avoid it at all costs. I think it's amazing you are facing your demons head-on! WTG!
  13. Goals! Completely cut out soda (as of 3/1/13) -- still allowing myself to have limited quantities of green tea (no more than 2 cups daily)Stick to 80%(ish) of Paleo for 30 days (beginning 3/1/13) -- My goal is at least two meals and all snacks 100% Paleo - going to allow myself to have brown rice with dinner for right now.Exercise daily (as of 2/5/13)And, I think that's enough for now! I'm gong to be starting the NF home exercises to alternate between gym days -- once my 30 day gym challenge is over on 3/6/13
  14. Yay, I reclaimed my motivation!! I needed a little help from my friend caffeine this morning, but I managed to snap out of it and find a better attitude! I did HIIT on the elliptical today....it was awesome. I think for now, it's better than the tredadmill (fat girl on a treadmill is a little scary! Ha). I was able to keep my 'strides per minute' above what I would typically do on a treadmill (obviously), for both working and training intervals. Best part is, I worked for 23 minutes, and only burned 50 calories less than when I do 40 minutes on the elliptical!! Somehow, I even feel motivated to get to the gym at 5:00 am tomorrow! I'm going to go to bed an hour early tonight to try to compensate. During previous WL attemps, I went to the gym in the morning and preferred it to afternoon workouts...who knows, maybe it'll be a better option for me. I have a meeting after work Thursday, so I might have to go to the gym in the morning then, too. My biggest issue, as usual, is food. Now that I've decided to start Paleo on March 1st, I've started a bit of binge eating (thankfully not too bad, certainly not as bad as I've done in the past -- I think my current exercise level is helping with this). I'm not eating tons of sweets or anything, but I am definitely thinking of all the foods I'll miss on Paleo (pizza -- was dinner last night, and Chiinese -- probably dinner for tonight). I know it's not the best thing to be doing..but I'm being honest! It is what it is. Tomorrow's dinner out will likely be unhealthy, and then Friday is GO TIME! Somewhere along the way, I need to find time to make it to the grocery store.
  15. Sounds like a great workout! I love my fitbit...if you get one, be sure to add me as a friend! I don't use fitness pal but maybe I should look into it
