  1. You could try some other low impact, low intensity forms of cardio besides running. Hiking, elliptical, swimming. If i do run, I go mostly easy and limit my runs to 20 minutes.
  2. Just broke 200lbs! Officially the heaviest ive ever been! :D

  3. I have a rotisserie in my countertop convection oven. Its a pain tying the legs together but i cook it for 10 min then brush it every 15 min with a mixture of butter, salt, pepper and paprika.
  4. http://lifehacker.com/this-is-your-brain-on-sugar-1501074572 Whole30 is good. Understand that there is sugar in a lot of processed foods and condiments too. Like tomato sauce and katsup. Look for healthy alternatives that you actually enjoy
  5. If you are trying paleo, make sure you are eating enough healthy fats and proteins. They will keep you full and satisfied much longer that empty carbs and only veggies. Try real nuts or seeds instead of peanuts/butter. Almond butter, cashew butter are good examples.
  6. 5x5 tells you to rest 1:30 between sets (at least the app does) if you pushed out 5 easily. If its difficult, rest 3-5 minutes. OP is always the first to stall. I had a lot trouble getting over 100 lbs at first, now im up to 126. Thinking about form and breathing helped a lot.
  7. I wear LOW-top Converse Allstars in the winter and barefoot in the summer. Only because I lift outside. I like feeling the ground with my feet.
  8. Its amazing how much the quality of one piece of fruit can alter your mood.

HATE when it's not ripe enough. I had one the other day that had a 'ripe now' sticker on it. LIES.

    4. Teros

like when I bite into and apple and it's all crumbly. GROSS. I need them crisp.

  9. I was doing 20 min sprint sessions on my off days during the summer while cutting and lifting 5x5. Now im doing low intensity cardio for 40+ min. Like walking or light elliptical. keeping heart rate in the 110-130 range. im still trying to figure out this cutting bulking thing and how to relate it to 5x5 and cardio depending on the time of year.
  10. Whole clean foods are always better than shakes. But shakes are very convenient. I make a shake 5 days a week for breakfast but i mix in a ton of healthy crap too (frozen fruit, broccoli, flaxseeds, almonds...). I have a slight intolerance to milk but Whey powder and greek yogurt dont seem to bother me. A lot of powders are full of crap so look for a clean one if you decide to go that route. I use 100% Gold Standard Naturals which is sweetened with Stevia instead of cane sugar and crappy artificial sweeteners. I also eat eggs 7 days a week so don't think that I don't have other breakfast options.
  11. Just gave my 2 weeks. Time to Level Up in 2014!
