  1. Go for it. I am an avid moto enthusiast and I've been riding for about 4 years- I love it. I couldn't imagine my life with out. Please please please please make sure you do your research. MSF. Motorcycle safety foundation. They will teach you want you need to know in the bare bones of what you need to know. Invest in good gear. It can mean the difference between walking away or dying. yes- the same accident can result in death- or merely some stiffness the next day all depending on your gear. Don't buy the first shiny bike you see- get one that's beginner appropriate (plus all of these things will help you convince hubby that you are being as safe as you can) I know it's six months off- but- oh lord I could ramble for days about bike stuff. LOL I'll just step off the soap box now. You'll do great- stick with it and when you start hunting come back to me with any questions you might have!!
  2. and all those who wander are not lost. Ze first challenge- I was ABsolutely inspired by the 6 pack ab chaser thread.... and I totally gooned up my thread posting- but hopefully we'll get that fixeded. Let's see if we can get my post before I retype everything!
  3. I've been reading Steve's blog for quiet some time. big perk- it's allowed at my work which is indeeded fairly restrictive on the sites I can visit. I love it- for various reasons and I figured I'd finally jump in to the community. I think I've just lurked for a while mostly because while I'm an engineer. I'm not an uber nerd gaming nerd. So sometimes I definitely don't get the references and other nuances- but I'm all about joining communities and being around people who love being fit and are working on goals. And one's who crack math jokes. What makes up a Jo: Dancer Motorcycle enthusiast. Engineer. Or at least I pretend to be Equestrian Pain in the ass. Work out addict Now to the working out: I love working out. I'm utterly addicted to it. I have been doing it for since as long as I could walk. I went to a military school and it was a big part- between various ROTC stuff- and playing soccer- working out was literally just a way of life and something we did. I was really big into lifting and the soccer stuff- so lots of sprinting and all sorts of shennanigans. After school I continued to work out- I did a lot more swimming as a life guard- and practical working out. But definitely not as much as school. Moved on with my life and wandered aimlessly with my working out. I started dancing quiet a bit at this point- dedicated a lot of time and effort and money into class, workshops and my own personal time drilling tech and what not. This is usually a 1.5-2.5 hour process. And didn't leave much room for traditional "weight lift + cardio" then add in dance. I stumbled upon bodyrock.tv and I've been HIITing ever since. I hate their new site. I admit. I still check in but in the last two years found these sites I kind of tag along and follow Lovingfit.com Angry Trainer Fitness Nerd Fitness and now separate from bodyrock is Zuzka on youtube. Love them all and the variety I get from the workouts. I'm jumping in head first to do some challenges and try to join up with the community. Oh. yes. I'm semi paleo. But I like to do my own personal 30 day challenges with my diet. I'm less concerned about weight loss and more concerned with being fit and healthy and being the best version of me that I can be. I'm really excited about going hard for the 6 pack abs and 100 day burpee challenge. I've been inspired by the girl at my gym competing in the Arnold Classic this weekend to shoot for more defined abs. The switch to paleo-ish made me realize- i'm NOT just stuck at 170ish- and I don't have to be miserable to actually get more definition- I just have to be WAY more proactive. Can't wait to see how things go. I live in the People's Republic of New Jersey so if any one wants to do some running/obstacle course/generic meet up but not turn me into a sock puppet type events- I"m totally down with it. I look forward to learning new and exciting things- and yes. I ramble. It is what it is.
  4. there are some things there are so laughablely true it's just why did you bother to take the time to type it.... and then the rest of it. bitch please. And yeah- pink makes it's rounds. So what. So does black and blue. I fail to see how that has anything to do with the way anyone trains. ..... and my only final thought was back to a recent experience. I was at the gym- doing whatever- I don't know. And I hear this god awful ohhhhohhhhhhhhhuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh. very porn style moaning. And I"m looking around trying to figure this out. And this goes on for maybe 15-20 seconds (which on an open floor of freeweight lifting- is a Loooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time) and Suddenly I realize it's one of the train- doing an upright bench. Moaning like a female porn star the whole time. needless to say- much shit was given that day for such nonsense I grunt- no question about it- but it's completely different. what a wackjob.
  5. had to bump this... brastop.com they have TONS of different sizes. I read an article that said I was a 32DD. I'm managing okay with a 34D from Target... but I have literally been wearing a 36C for the last 10 years- I"m shocked I had to go up. the only reason I haven't ordered from brastop yet- is because I don't want to spend 50 bucks on 32DD's that I don't know will fit- and I'm too lazy to go get fitted and see if that size ACTUALLY fits. anyway. hope it helps- they sell regular bras as well as swimwear and sports bras. Everyone I know who has shopped there swears by them! Happy hunting!
  6. I posted up in your other thread- I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure where I should have started first!!! and I get the basic idea of the challenges- how you guys do them here is different though so I'm not sure how one just jumps in... but I"m totally game. I'm starting at 5'8" (nothing I can do about that though except fab heels ) 162 (will get a more accurate measurement tonight) I think I do my own challenges list (I believe if not someone correct me or guide me LMAO) > Be more accurate with my food consumption. - how much am eating now - do I need to eat more - do I need to eat less - more of XXXX less of XXXX??? > I'm giving up sugar (I talked about it for February- but February is birthday month- so I knew it wasn't happening) the time is now though!!! > I'm totally going in on cold showers (hate them-then love them- did them for other things- will do again) > Re-incorporate jump roping as the shoulder allows - I'd like to do this 2x a week- but I have to play this by year > Start running again at least 2 times a week- minimum of 10 minutes -(signing up for a 5K in the summer so it's time to add) I'm pretty happy with my training as it is so I'm not sure if I'm going to tweak that or not. I think mine is more dietary issues- but I'm going to go week by week and assess- there may need to be more actual strength training involved... I mostly do 12-20 minutes of HIIT + 1-3 hours of structured dancing. Added the Burpee challenge for shits and giggles. and that's that
