  1. Been super sick the last week or so. Some days feel fine and can work out, but most days my congestion is so bad it is hard to breathe just sitting down. Due to my lack of motion and anything else my diet has crashed. I had two tomato soups the other day and that was it. Had no more than 500 calories that day. I know that I need to eat more so yesterday asked the wife to add some extra veggies to my chicken noodle soup. Just wondering has illness hurt you guys on your diets and or exercise routine. Only got two workouts in this week.
  2. Good Job Darkryft, my brother lost over a hundred pounds and is weighing in at 230ish we are about six feet or so, but he looks sickly at that weight his muscle mass is now for endurance as he bikes everyday a minimum of 10 miles last night he couldn't sleep so he hit 26 miles before he stopped for a break and ate something, which was a few miles just to get to the house if he didn't take any detours. Some people just have large frames and keeping your look and your health in mind will make you much saner than reading the scale. I on the other hand am a lifter I love to lift and want to as long as I can, this is different for my brother but different strokes, he is lean and is still working, now he takes my workouts and tries to adapt them for him to get there too. These are all numbers and we must remember that congrats to all of you and have a great day!
  3. The strength training will definitely help add to your goals. It may not help you lose the weight on the scale but scales are very deceptive. As they stated earlier knowing you bf% and see how the strength training will change that even though the scale doesn't move at all is an even better feeling. Once again congrats on the loss so far keep up the great work! Plus have a blast in Jamaica mon!

    Diabetes?

Here in South Texas Diabetes is everywhere. My family has some people in it with it so I watch it, it has ruined my wife's side of the family, uncle has lost one leg and now possibly another he is not yet sixty. So we watch what we eat and work out sometimes it gets away from us but we try to watch it, mainly watching the refined foods as much as possible. Does it run in your family and are you concerned?
  5. Thanks guys I appreciate it. I did break it and got down some more, I did have a heavy dinner last night but it didn't got back to where i was up a little but still good. Yeah I know I need rest and have been trying to be better with that but with such a crazy schedule and a 2 year old at home sometimes it is hard to rest but will try to do better with that.
  6. Yeah my carb intake is at 80 or less have not gotten near the 80 mark but once or twice since i started. I am on a 1800-2000 cals a day sometimes 1600 just depends on my hunger, my bmr is at 2775, so doing well on my deficit and working out harder. Busted through a plateau this morning at now down 13 hope I can stay safe and keep losing it.
  7. Yeah I am tracking the calories normally less than 2000 somewhere between 1600-200 depending on the day, carbs under 80g a day. I use my fitness pal. My bmr is 2775, so at least at a 700-800 deficit each day. Yesterday I was full at 1300 cals, we measure most of the food that we eat, like the veggies and stuff like that. Each day I will eat a bar for breakfast, chobani yogurt for snack around 8:30, lunch will be 6 slices of ham, 2 cheese sticks, two servings of pork rinds 160 cals, and will eat a cup and a half of fresh okra. Wash it down with water today I added a couple of pickles to my lunch. Dinner is different everyday but last night was chicken breast stir fri 2 cups and 1 cup of cauliflower shredded to look like rice and is a great substitute.
  8. I hear you HeyLookOverThere I am in the exact same spot as you. Got heavy and trying to fix my life. One point I was at 354 I thought how disgusting a person I was. I did the hcg diet with my mother in law and lost 40lbs but gained about 25 ish back lost that and now back down to 318 but am stuck there, don't worry it will work. Just have to like they say eat better and start doing something. HAven't got the fitness guide yet but may look into it. Best of luck on your journey.
  9. So been dieting this last month on low carbs and been going harder in the gym. I am a big guy, a fat guy too but a decent sized boy. 6" flat and weigh 318ish depending on that morning. I lift weights at least 5 days a week and do so for about an hour been doing more cardio started the couch to 5k training program. Now I am a coach and am very active with the players mainly high school football and some middle school off season. I am able to help them but not able to help me, how do I beat this platuea and keep on losing weight and not my mind?
  10. So my father in law whose has diabetes started a low carb diet as suggested by his doctor to help manage his blood sugar levels. My wife so scared that she will get it has adopted it aswell. Being the good husband I took it up also to help keep the stuff she likes out of the house. We started at the beginning of this month and did well so far lost about 10 lbs but been stuck there for a week or so. I started more cardio and running (jogging and brisk walking) to try to help get it down. Even been hitting it harder during my lifting sessions, less weight more reps and less rest to keep the heart rate up but still not dropping. One night we had pizza two slices and a salad and the next day I lost three pounds. Has anyone else had this type of success or lack thereof on a carb restricted diet?
