  1. Whoo! My computer has been acting up and I haven't been able to get online, but that doesn't mean I've given up! I had wheat two different days - one was because of this big party we had been planning, and I knew I was going to have some desserts then, and the next day, it felt like the universe wanted me to have a donut, they were surrounding me on all sides, so I ate some. I felt awful afterwards, no more donuts for this chick. Otherwise I'm doing pretty well on my goals, I haven't been able to work in the schools much because of state testing this week, but I then spent all day applying for permanent jobs or doing other work that resulted in money, so I counted those days toward my goal
  2. I've edited my first post with how my goals are coming along! Had a pretty good day. Was tempted by fast food this evening when everyone else went out. I had chicken instead
  3. Today was fun! I went on a scavenger hunt with friends at a nearby campus. Fun fitness is the best kind
  4. First day down! For starters I went to work today! (a rare Monday occurance) and it was a wonderful day at school. However, no wheat, and as a result, no sugar, and I had a monster of a headache at the end of the day. My body is protesting hardcore. I've decided to edit my first post each time I'm on with the percentage I've completed already. Goal 1 is how many cups out of 126 (3*42) I drink. Goal 2 is how many days, same with Goal 3. Goal 4 is based off of work days (24) Hope everyone else had a good first day! Looking forward to day 2!
  5. Thanks for looking out for me! I think I'm going to change it to just moving every day, I need to stop making excuses, so I'll just reserve those activities as options for movement than a specific goal.
  6. Love Battlestar Galatica! I would love to be on the same level Starbuck is - let's do this! I feel like we are similar (except for the novel thing - I'm a terrible terrible writer haha) I'm just working at getting up, getting active, and loosing a ton of weight. I'm so stoked for this challenge to start, and I'm going to keep checking in on you!
  7. Thanks! ^-^ Haha thanks, I hope it keeps you checking back This is the second I've just heard of the Dresden Files! I'm definitely going to give them a read.
  8. Love your goals! (Of course I do, mine are pretty similar ) I totally understand you about feeling guilty about collecting your money - I get the same way when confronting people about things equally sensitive. Power to you, and I'm excited to see you become more assertive and make your business more successful!
  9. Woot! We can totally do this Oh my goodness, frozen fruit in water sounds AMAZING. Why have I never thought of this before? I love your name! Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely take a look at those - though truthfully, I'm working at just moving forward. I've been a bit of a couch potato my whole life haha. Thanks for making me accountable!! I'm not sure about what's kosher regarding attribute points as this is my first challenge, :/ I suppose I'll look into it.
  10. Whoo! I'm so excited to start a challenge - I've been lurking on and off since January. I'm better at short term success, so I'm really hoping that these challenges will keep me improving! I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Music, and my teaching license. I'm a substitute teacher while applying for jobs (it's....interesting.) I love to read (any recommendations? I'm between books atm) My biggest nerd loves are Doctor Who and Harry Potter. Goals: 1) Drink that water. 19% Complete on 4/23 So I have this cup with a straw that I drink water from (the staw improves things more than I imagined) and it's 24oz. I will drink at least 3 of those (72oz) daily. CON: 3 2) Drop the wheat. Replace with healthy alternatives. 14% Complete on 4/23 2 of my family members have recently been diagnosed as wheat intolerant, so insolidarity with them, and because most of what keeps me from being healthy has to do with cookies, cake, brownies, etc. I'm going to go 6 weeks without it. Also, I don't want to replace it with corn chips, french fries, and icecream - I will choose vegetables and lean protien when I can. CON: 5 3) Move. 17% Complete on 4/23 I need to do something active every single day. Even if it is just a 30 minute walk. Enough with the excuses! Ideas for moving include, though are not limited to: walking, Zombies, Run!, Beginner Bodyweight, etc... STA: 3 STR: 2 4) Work. 20% Complete on 4/23 I am a substitute teacher and I set my own schedule, this makes it very tempting to work only 2 days a week. I will work the equivalent of 4 full days each school week. (5 is not always possible because of job availability) WIS: 2 Allons-y!
  11. I love it! I started with Season 1, but now I'm currently doing the 5k trainer. It really keeps me motivated to go out and run. Also, I've always been one to get my workouts in at night. I think that it adds an entirely new element to listen in the dark. I'm really glad that I live in a safe neighborhood, and that there isn't any one out who can judge me when I jump at my own shadow.
  12. Hey there, So I'm really good at short term goals - I can eat only raw vegetables and small amounts of animal protien for 30 days, or juice fast for 20, or workout for 6 weeks. But then tranistioning my gung-ho, super stoked attitude into a more moderate healthy lifestyle has been the challenge. But this is the next beginning! And as long as I keep moving - I'm bound to get somewhere, right? So I want this part of my life to be the long, hard working part of that awesome training montage with the best song, that turns me into the better me. A little about me: I'm a teacher, currently substitute teaching while waiting for a positition. Ask me about this - it's both horrific and hilarious. Doing anything but snacking and vegging after a long day at school seems atrocious - but that's what montages are about, doing the hard, ugly part. I swim alot - I love it I run a little bit - I love having DONE it ... but hate doing it. I'm scared of the weight section of the gym - but I'm looking forward to conquering it. -Madness
