  1. Goju-Ryu Karate is totally legit. The most important choice you'll have to make when joining is if you want to learn Traditional (killing/maiming strikes and techniques) or Sport variations of the same. You remember what you practice. Ganbarimasu!
  2. Why does quitting smoking have to be so fucking difficult, I'm going a whole day without cigarettes and I find myself stuffing my face with gross ass food, and now I'm smoking a cigarette someone help.

      Wish I could help but I've never had or seen anyone quit smoking before. I just want to let you know that I wish my dad was doing what your trying to achieve. You can do it, you've already made up your mind your going to quit. I'm sure as with any addiction if you keep at it, it gets easier.

      I'm quitting as part of this challenge. I weened myself down to 3 cigarettes a day first, it has been much easier than the times I've tried before. If cold turkey isn't working try cutting back, that way when the cravings come tell yourself "I can have one "later". Now when a craving comes I tell myself "I'm NOT a smoker". There's no harm/shame in a nicotine replacement either. Try the gum or spray.

      Thanks for the advice everyone, and the motivation. I'm just so tired of paying for them when I could be spending that money doing fun active things like Parkour, or Martial Arts, instead of wasting 75-85$ a month on something that's physically killing me.

  7. Hey Phoenix, just remember when the weight comes off, and the foods not their, you are going to be you. The hardest adjustment I found losing weight was realizing that I look good, seriously if you look at your self with positive self image, others will look/think about you the same way. And obsessing over the weight loss is something I'm sure we've all done a few times.

      Yeah, I was taking the keeper spring (a very high max lb resistance coil) and it was fully tensed. So when I pulled it off it bit my pinky leaving an inch split on the skin and smashing the muscles in a split second. I'm really just hoping it doesn't get in the way of my BW training...

  9. /cry so I was working on a truck and got my pinky bit between a loaded shock and A-arm, so like 1.5 - 3 weeks (no insurance) no frog stands. And I was getting good at them .............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really felt like had I started at the beginning performing the six week mini challenges, I would have stayed a bit more motivated (plus I've run into a bunch of problems so I'm not able to take the time to train. What I liked about the mini challenges is they provide an activity even on the go! without being restricted by the workout program. I think, more challenges could be included, like pistol squats, frog stands, etc. Sorry I can't go into more detail, pressed for time!   12. For me there is a clear knowing when someone is older than their golden years and coaching you, because typically you go search these people out. But if I know your capability (age/size/fitness level) and you aren't willing to just drop down and go do it, or at least something of relative difficulty, then I don't think you have any business telling me what to do. Like my homie the other day was like, "I want to see you do 10 Schools." which means run the local High School 10 times while, running 10 laps around the track up and down the bleachers.   16. Thank you so much for posting that, it was all very inspiring stuff, after watching some of the videos I've seen about it. Ido Portal's training should absolutely be included into a Parkour regimen. I'm still trying to cut off fat, while training the basic qualities of a traceur, once I get down to a certain body size, or achieve a specific level of fitness, then I'm going to "beef it up" with some of this much more complex training!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. As you can see I haven't been posting the last couple of days, I haven't lost my motivation, just had to spend a whole day making sure business got done, and a homie out of jail, literally he's been out of jail for 2 hours by this post, so back on the horse today!
  19. I feel you, when running is the worst thing you got in your arsenal, it takes time to improve and see gains. Initially like most working out the gains will be high, and you'll plateau if you don't throw variation into your workout.
  20. I'm with I-Jo and everyone else on this thread. Personally I was a 260+ lb guy when I really learned how to do a pull-up, and I learned it through P90X. No joke! And like I-Jo said, really the best way to do pull-ups (in my humble opinion) is to complete the entire motion, so your body learns the correct motion from the beginning.
