  1. Huh. Go to your guild master's thread and get haircut advise, the world is a strange place. Glad you got a job interview, can't wait to hear how it goes.
  2. Alright so my little meditate session. I ended up going tV an art gallery (someone invited me) and after an hour of wandering around surrounded by strange people I bailed. Completely going nuts afterwards (crowds and strange people make me nervous. add them together and you end up with very stressed out terromortus) so I decided to go for a walk in the woods. It was very relaxing, managed to put all my worries behind me while I walked and relaxed. I even managed to go exploring and found some really nice places, some of which might have been other peoples back yards. >.>
  3. I was in the same boat myself. *friggin love you Sam*
  4. Congrats on the house, sucks about the robbery but glad to hear no one was hurt.
  5. Ah forgot to mention this. I signed up for a zombie run my gym does and piano lessons.
  6. Gah can't believe how long I leave between these things. Anyway got back on the wagon. Sleep has been proving an issue, I'm thinking that all the extra physical stuff I am doing combined with the fact that I'm not eating super amounts of food is making me sleep more. Not sure how to fix that, besides eating more which is counter productive when trying to lose weight. otherwise things have been going well. Completely forgot to mention this weeks virtue is frugality, which I have been sticking too fvr the most part by allowing myself to only spend a hundred a week. Did very well, though spent more money then I should have on food as I wanted to make sweet and sour chicken (got a new recipe book). So that got a sorta score that way as I did spend money on something useful but it was sort of an impulse buy. 7. Hmmm, I may have to give meditation another go.
  8. Alright so this weeks first post! After the dismal performance last week I'm hitting the challenge with renewed vigor this week. Reading I've nailed and slept a nice eight hours. on a non-challenge related note I even ran three miles last night, so things are looking good. 9. Thanks guys, so far I've been feeling a lot better which is a relief.
  10. Damn that's a lot of heavy lifting, keep it up!
  11. Presence is awesome, it's what convinced my 6'2" sensei that I'm almost as tall as him (I'm 5'8"). Definitely use it to your advantage.
  12. So yeah this week was fail utterly and totally. Today is the first day I actually feel mostly normal and I still am coughing every so often. So yeah sick week which is going to take away from things but hopefully tomorrow will be better. only plus side is that i lost a couple of pounds, so there is that. 13. So apparently I have a habit of composing my responses in my head and not actually writing them down, goody. Last week was pretty bad, I had to combine a couple study sessions Sunday night in order to get them done and reading was hard to fit in. Because our wonderful government shut down the cash I was hoping would help we to practice Aikido again didn't come in. So no Aikido since my dojo is about a half an hour drive from my house and I was broke this week. The only thing that went well was order, which I aced but even sleeping took a hit Sleeping I think took it's hit because Monday I was sick, as in really sick and have been spending the past few days doing nothing but sleeping. Means basically everything else has suffered but considering it took me twenty minutes to get out of bed I can't really do much about it. 14. So first off that movie was awesome. Sucks about losing your job but really happy that you immediately got to work trying to find a new one. What your manager did was unprofessional and I can't imagine you being anything like that. So moving on. Having been working the night shift for a while and knowing a few guys who work third shift, sleep will get weird but I wouldn't worry too much about it. You sort of develop your own sleep schedule, and I'm sure you can fit others into that. or hell turn it into a boon. I'm betting there are tons of people out there with weird schedules who would love a trainer with equally weird hours.
  15. I have that problem with not feeling like I'm not losing anything. Like everyone else says you have to use more then a number on a scale to keep track of these things.
  16. Awesome job on the pull ups! Glad the wedding went well too
  17. Dude awesome job on resisting the temptations. Also crazy jealous that you got to go to a fair, we don't have those types of fairs up here.
  18. I can empathize with not being able to attend classes. I have the same problem compounded by the fact that my dojo is half an hour away. For BW stuff I've been sticking with Convict Conditioning for about two months now and noticed some really good results. Like 13th said you could try combining a few programs to make your own,
  19. I think I'll have to try that out, thanks! My regular shoes are about two sizes too big but that never bothered me until I started running regularly. My running shoes are theoretically properly fitted but I may have to try a different size to experiment at some point. Hmmm those would be pretty cool.
  20. Hey Zuel how is tha challenge going?
  21. Alright so an update for the past week and a bit on the coming. So last week I missed one of my study sessions, not good. Problem was on Thursdays when I had time I got lazy and convinced myself that I would do it another day. of course this didn't happen since the other days I was too exhausted (also Game of Thrones distracted me) so never actually did it. While not happy with myself for that I'm taking it as a learning experience, do it when you have time. My other goals I did well on. Silence for my virtue this week wasn't much of a challenge, I'm already really polite and well mannered all the time so it wasn't a stretch for me. That said I did cut down on some of my mindless chatter which probably helped with my big silent type idea. This week's Virtue is Order and I can already tell this will be a difficult one. Simple fact is that my house is a mess (after my first challenge things fell by the wayside as life got busier, plus another housemate) but it is at least organized chaos. I have a habit of putting things off (shocker) so clean clothes take a few days to actually be folded, dishes are the same, etc, etc. So I'll have to work at this one. Tyrion Lannister: Reading for the Week 1/7, Studying for the Week -/3 (First Week: 5/5 and 3/3, Second: 7/7 and 2/3) Jon Snow: Hours Slept Per Night: Mon -, Tues -, Wed -, Thurs -, Fri -, Sat -, Sun -, (First Week's Average: 7, Second: 8) Jaime Lannister: Aikido Classes Attended: -/3 (First Week: 2/3, Second: 3/3) Eddard Stark: Order: Monday, Sort of. Tuesday, -. Wednesday, -. Thursday, -. Friday, -. Saturday, -. Sunday, -. (Temperance: 12 points, Silence: 14 points)
  22. Alright so there was to be food porn but my camera decided it was evil. I made Cumin and orange chicken (same recipe that Leonine used) with sauteed mushrooms, almond and garlic green beans, and rice. First brined the chicken for about ten hours in a combination of apple cider vinegar, orange juice, and orange marmalade with a few peppercorns thrown in for the hell of it. Afterwards coated it in a cumin, salt, and chili powder and baked it at 300 for about a hour. Came out a little dry but good. Green beans I prepared by first sauteing the almond slivers in a bit of better then removing them and cooking some garlic and the green beans in the remaining butter. Add some water and boil it down to cook the beans, followed by a bit more butter and serve with almonds sprinkled on top. Mushrooms got sauteed in the remaining sauce.
  23. So yeah I've been getting blisters between the toes of my right foot and was wondering if this is normal and how to stop it. I think it may be due to my running form ( I tend to favor my right foot) but some advice from more seasoned runners would be appreciated.
  24. Alright so update before sleep. Reading went very well, was hoping to get another study session in yesterdays but errands ended up getting in the way. Still I'm happy that things getting done was the reason rather then excuses. Sleeping went well, I was actually super tired around 1 am and slept till a little after 9 am. Still I do need to work on things a bit, get a set schedule for sleep. Aikido was taken care of Thursday evening. Two hours in one day was intense but so worth it. Silence is as always very easy. It helps that I practice good manners all the time anyways in terms of cell phones and in general don't like chit chat. Tyrion Lannister: Reading for the Week 5/7, Studying for the Week 1/3 (First Week: 5/5 and 3/3) Jon Snow: Hours Slept Per Night: Mon 8, Tues 10, Wed 6, Thurs 8, Fri -, Sat -, Sun -, (First Week's Average: 7) Jaime Lannister: Aikido Classes Attended: 3/3 (First Week: 2/3) Eddard Stark: Acts of Silence: Monday, Yes. Tuesday, Yes. Wednesday, Yes. Thursday, Yes. Friday, Yes. Saturday, -. Sunday, -. (First Week: 12 points)
  25. Thanks. I knew sleeping would be the hard one, I tend to sleep like a log so altering my patterns is next to impossible. Dishes isn't a bad idea actually. Cleaning and doing dishes is probable 40% of what I do all day. Cooking usually takes up maybe 25% tops. Thanks you! Now I just have to work on getting it even lower so that I have some breathing room.
