  1. Well, I had my 28th birthday yesterday. I have an even deeper resolve to not drink alcohol now. I've still never been drunk but damn one mystery shot someone got me and a vodka Jello shot (Tastes like perfume). I think I will add sprints to my workout schedule. My plateau continues. I didn't have one of those tiny cupcakes since I wasn't going to eat cake. and Sunday night I did not eat any of the Chips Ahoy my friend brought for game night. YAY. Well on to my battle log. Week 2 squat 5 × 100 [25,2.5] 5 × 125 [35,5] 3 × 150 [45,5,2.5] 3 × 175 [45,10,5,5] 3 × 200 [45,25,5,2.5] 3+ × 225 [45,45] 3 bench press 5 × 80 [10,5,2.5] 5 × 95 [25] 5 × 105 [25,5] assistance Reverse Hyper ext. I have issues with OHP I only got 2.5 reps of my needed three. its like two steps forward and 1 step back with that lift. Its probably mental as well as physical since I know its my worst lift. The crappy part is my Brothers OHP doesn't want to make gains either. We have a theory its genetic.
  2. Okay, so the whole log thing doesn't work for me. I learned this immediately, but I will try and write things down for myself at least. looks Like gave up in July. Well let me say the second half of 2013 was hell at work at least. I continued to lift and make gains though its practically impossible to make gains and be in a deficit. I managed some though. The end of my 9th cycle on 5/3/1 finished up last week. My actual maxes were. Squat:235 x3 Deadlift: 275 x3 OHP: 100 x1 Bench: 130 x4 All of those I only needed to do one. My weight has at least been stagnant and not gone up since my last real loss sometime in October. last february I was 262 now I am 238 and dropping. I'll take the 24. I resolved to stick to a more Keto style on Paleo for the time being stick to 1800 calories, and 24 g of Carbs. I have yet to go over the calorie goal I've set for myself (YAY) but the carb limitation has been slightly difficult some days especially when Relative spontaneously visit and want Chinese food. Fortunately there is mongolian BBQ. I will update this as I remember.
  3. Hello!!! I've been lurking here since the beginning of my journey in February. I've decided my race is a Dwarf, and my class is a Barbarian. On February 2nd 6 days after my 27th birthday I decided I didn't want to be like me anymore. Two weeks before that, I found the Paleo/Primal diets and web pages. For those two weeks I read and gathered as much information as I could find. I decided I needed to recruit my brother to help me. He started his change two years. ago and I guess it kinda rubbed off on me. He is I would say a level 10 Barbarian Nord. So I had excellent help. I started Lifting with starting strength 5x3. It was HARD!!! but so worth it. Two months ago I had progressed enough to start 5/3/1. That is what I am doing now. I use www.blackironbeast.com to figure out my routine. I started at 262 lbs 5'7" I am 234 now. 4. I am always hungry all day after I lift on Monday because its the only day I lift around midday. To satiate my hunger I usually mix a very small bowl of coconut oil macadamia nuts almonds butter and about 15 dark chocolate chips microwave it and and snarf. After than with a normal meal of meat and veggies I am good till dinner. The key ingredient here is the coconut oil. It really fills you up. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-wonderful-world-of-coconut-products/#axzz2XBKDPgmT
  5. I stalled on bench and military press for the five months I did ss. I have now started the beginning 5/3/1. I used black iron beast and set it on beginner to get my four week plan. For assistance I do all sorts if different things. I can enumerate if you would like. As far as stalling out I would calculate my max Weight x rep x .0333 + weight = 1 rep max Do 80% for training max of that then 90% for lifting max, of that. For my training weight So take my overhead press. I have five rep max of 80lbs. So the math would be. 80 x 5 x .0333 + 80 = 93.32 80% = 75lbs And 90% = 70lbs So the next time I lift I would do 5 sets of 5 at 70lbs Then raise it five pounds consecutively after that each time I go.
