  1. Well, lets see. Its been quite a long time since ive been on here and i can honestly say i dont even know what my weight is anymore just that my pants are getting tight and my shirts are getting smaller. I hit my peak back in mid 2013 while on deployment in afghanistan, 5'7, 190lbs, while squatting close to 400 and running 14 minute two miles. Well deployment ended, some shit happened in the family i took to drinking more stopped working out besides PT got fat and ended up getting booted out of the Army. Now ive been home for 5 months now and im just getting back into a physical job after having a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I dont really know where to start now and cant seem to remember what to do. All i know is i need to get back in shape and soon. so please, any pointers you guys got send em my way. Thank you, -Draken 273 Restarting at Level one after losing my memory card.
  2. Well guys its been a while. Too long. I fell far from where i was..went from 195 back up to about 218. Been flagged for failing a PT test in my stongest subject because of overconfidence/under-training and basically have been down for the last few months. Well you know what, I might have been knocked around and experienced failure but im not defeated. and now i must prove it. Current stats -5'8", 212 lbs. PT test scores - 195 (uhg) Run-16:20 Push up-45 Sit up-55 BF % N-16, W-39.5 - 27% according to tape test (16 neck, 39 waist) Now you know where i am and where i've been, now you get to know where im going. Goals- 200lbs PT test 60 push ups, 65 sit up, 15:15 2 mile. body fat - 19% N-17, w-37 Level up my life goal- Take active steps to increase my self control and will power Work goal- Try to become the assistant supplemental PT instructor, (already have one day a week devoted to "(my name here)'s work out") Starting something i suck at goal- TBA
  3. hey guys just checking in, my weight has refused to move, since the beginning of the 6WC, but ive been good on my other goals. Actually got a surprise BF % test yesterday and dropped a percent so i guess thats something positive.
  4. I love my Merrell trail gloves so far, they dig in so well on dirt/gravel. almost like wearing a set of claws lol
  5. been busy over here, taking a break from lifting for a week as much as i dont want to, to ease an aggravated shoulder. and I just got my first pair of true barefoot running shoes, Merrell Trail gloves, so ill be spending the rest of the week watching my diet and logging some miles to break in my feet.
  6. Woot, Got my new running Shoes in today, Merrell trail Gloves, light as hell, Ridiculously strong sole, and from walking around in them they have material right where i need it and not where i dont. for once im actually excited to run. These are going to be so much better than my previous pair.
  7. Oh yeah, luckily after a few weeks of starvation you wont have to worry about any 7 yr olds slowing you down
  8. Ill admit, i was fooled by Subway, although i still do love me a buffalo chicken sub...
  9. Yeah, I got a bit overzealous and tried to pull 365 the other day, got it half way up then my body gave me a big ole' FU. I was probably lucky i didnt hurt myself. Well thanks all, i think i need to slow down a bit and try to get my form down before i really go into the heavy lifts.
  10. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/12-processed-foods-companies-try-to-convince-you-are-natural-194448833.html?page=2 Linked to the Yahoo! article, what do you all think?
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znye1DGK3YE This one every now and then, but it has to be the music video. Other than that anything rock really, as long as its fast paced and agressive. Oh and Iron by woodkid, because it makes me think I'm Ezio. and yeah..
  12. Hey guys, so i've been lifting weights for only about a month now. Its not my first effort into excercise, being in the Army I PT every day back home, and have been used to vigorous activity for the last year or so. Anyways, i kinda hopped and skipped ahead a bit into stronglifts, so instead of starting with the bar i found out what my current 5 rep max was on everything and started from there. I'm just wondering if doing this could backfire at all, i mean, ive been able to make hop skips and jumps on squats and deadlifts, the presses and rows are coming up slowly, right along with the Stonglifts progression, but its hard for me to not want to slap on 10 or even 20 lbs instead of 5 on the deadlift and squat. I have kinda tweaked my shoulder on the bench press due to improper form, so im trying to be much more form concious now, so im just wondering if trying to progress this quickly is going to cause more harm than good.
  13. Shortly after completeing a set of squats and deadlifts, "hey man, if you wanna get strong you really gotta isolate the muscle, and just hit one group a day" the rebel in me wanted to correct the guy with my bar...to his face. the nerd in me felt like explaining why compound movements are better.. He didnt like my advice.
  14. Weights kinda stagnant right now, hovering between 195-198, depending on the day. diets been kinda horrible lately, Ill admit. I havent ran for a week because my running shoes self destructed and the ones i ordered should be coming in later today or tomorrow. and then im right back on with that. strength training wise ive missed 1 work out with out anything id consider a valid excuse so i guess im doing ok but could be better. current Stronglifts numbers at: Bench press-165, Over head press-125, Squat- 260, Deadlift- 320, and a Barbell row of 135. For therest of this week im going to focus on cleaning up my diet, getting cravings under control and then just plain kicking ass like chuck norris.
  15. Piggybacked the ECU! Good news everyone, as of yesterday i applied for College courses, no response yet, but should be positive. I applied for an Associates of Science in Aviation maintenance...figured i might as weel get a degree in what i do anyways. Looks like that part of the challenge has just gotten its butt kicked.
