  1. That clubbell stuff seems like a lot of fun and pretty much right up my alley.... Might look into it some! Great that you're sticking to the program so well, quite impressed you've got the patience to look up and learn these new moves
  2. Oi, sorry to hear about all that. Must've been a sucky night stuck on that balcony.. Makes for a great story though! You told the cubs about it? I'm sure they'd be impressed you climbed back up twice. Very smart you're taking it easy and re-evaluating things. Do the guys you're training have some understanding? You should just sit all relaxed like and shout orders at them *hugs*
  3. Yea I'm with Nymeria and Chris on this one. Wouldn't worry about it so much. I'm also pretty sure getting stronger will help with form. A tucked planche is an epic goal, with you on that one
  4. Scuba diving that's really cool! Great that you got that equipment, and yes being single can be awesome. Have fun with that! One of the biggest things to tackle with eating better is being very conscious of planning for it.. It's hard! But you seem to have a plan, let us know how that goes?
  5. The highlighted bit is what I was struggling with so much that for my new years resolution I went with -zero- restrictions until my head's in a better place. What Wolverine said, I'm very happy for you and it's good to see it's 'possible'. Everyone has to go through the struggles I guess, but hearing that others came out on top does really help! I think in the end the balance is hardest to find, same thing Elastigirl was talking about with maintenance. Finding that comfortable place.. Which makes hard restrictions seem so appealing, but then they f*ck with your head heh. Anyways, thanks for sharing and nice workouts too! Cool to see your son is taking your good example.
  6. Yea I keep thinking the same! You seem like an awesome mom, they'll probably get used to it- maybe you should also come up with a game theme, like ehh.. Indiana Jones who needs to be prepared. Heh. I'll leave the thinking to you since you seem to be a lot better at it Great workouts! I'm impressed with your practicality (getting some exercise in while keeping the kids from drowning) and your patience for doing all this stuff with kids around. The video looks great, very controlled! (lex-style? )
  7. Yes! Real strength points for Kibcy On a side note Obax I think you're pretty awesome and those teenage girls you work with are lucky to have you! Kibcy! *hugs!* have lots of fun in New York, don't worry about other things, you'll be in NY! you won't notice an unclean house and I'm sure you'll come up with something if you miss your cat hotel deadline! Hope you really really enjoy yourself, and think of us a little bit
  8. Yay for graduation I'll keep my fingers crossed for you next wednesday, but I'm sure you'll nail it.
  9. Man, that sounds like a good life!
  10. Shit Did these knee problems happen or were you born with the tendons attached in the wrong place? Have you had problems with it before? As in, do you expect it to go away with some rest or will you be visiting a doctor? Got my fingers crossed for you hon!
  11. Day 10; Wednesday was a rest day because I was too busy. Day 11; Planned to update in the evening, but it was a loooong day so I crashed. I did my own kettlebell training, then taught a kb class (went well!) and to round it off attended the group class. Group class was kinda fun, forgot how fun that can be! Minus the 15 minutes or so we spend in the bottom of the squat for mobility No shoes. My god. Ok it was probably more like 10 minutes, but it seemed about an hour of burning Kettlebells swings, 20x12kg, 20x16kg, 20x18kg, 20x20kg clean&press, 40x12kg half snatch, 2minx12kg, 2minx12kg, 2minx16kg jerk, 3minx12kg, 3minx16kg, 2minx18kg, 2minx20kg The grip training is hard on the skin of my fingers, can barely hold on to the 20kg. Which is annoying. Technique of switching to that grip is going a bit better. Jerks are my happy place right now, no grip involved, yay. Group training lots of things but most interesting; 10 min squat mobility wrist strengthening exercises (I think I need this for floreio, it's quite hard on the wrists) and backsquats, yay! 4x2@52,5kg. Was pushing the limits there, last reps didn't look pretty.
  12. It's weird huh. But maybe you needed the education anyway to be confident in your abilities and that you were able to start your own business? It's an interesting thing. My baby sister is graduating high school next year (big age difference) and sometimes I just feel like telling her to just skip school, go do an internship, travel the world, experience stuff. hehe. I'll be graduating next year, didn't manage to finish a couple courses last year due to being in the hospital. Since I gotta retake those anyway that's when I plan to be done. I guess I'm not doing so bad with food, but in my head it's not pretty. Lost a lot of weight 3 years ago, and I've managed to mostly maintain that, but since then any thoughts of food restrictions or continueing weight loss has just managed to send me over the deep end. Kinda letting it go since january has helped a lot and we'll see how it goes.
  13. No I don't think you've asked because I probably wouldn't have told. I'm still a bit embarrassed about being in such a bad place with my own food-stuff while studying dietetics (there's definitely some cause/effect there). Very excited about this thesis though I've still got a couple months left to work on it, which I need since my test subjects need to follow a diet of my construction for at least a month. I almost can't believe it'd be cheaper to fly to london from malta once a week than living there! My hat is off to you for the dedication it'd take to graduate under those circumstances. And a big yay for non-long-distance relationships. Does it feel awesome to be done with uni? Was it worth it? As in did you learn a lot and do you have the feeling that your clients care about your diploma?
  14. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that! It's very interesting and offers great perspective. You managed to paint a pretty clear picture of how you grew throughout the story. This is some parts like "oh yea i had to learn that too" and other parts "oh yea.... i still gotta learn that" It's also reassuring to know that even though you've come a long way you still have things to learn and happy mediums to find! But despite not being perfect you seem to have found a pretty happy place and a way to deal with bumps on the road. Thanks again!
  15. Gotta cheer for this, that's awesome Recognize it.
  16. And that's just inspiring! Danish actually sounds a bit like dutch, when you hear it from a distance. The hot potato comment is funny.
  17. No not too often, about once or twice a week. I would've gotten a student house there but then my bf asked me to move in with him, sooooo.. mm Well, this is pretty ironic considering my own food demons but I'm writing about if it's a good idea for dietitians to incorporate aspects from a paleo diet into their treatment plans. To make a long story very short Did you study for the design work you do now?
  18. Good, loving it will make it that much easier, hehe. And man... I know we always tried to speak english when his girlfriend was around, but sometimes it's really hard when you're still thinking in dutch or making a joke and before you know it you've switched back unintentionally. It was different when I had a scottish roommate, but mostly because I was thinking in english at that time because I was also studying in english. Then I kept mixing english words into my dutch conversations, hehe. I'm not sure I can wait a full week tbh, maybe you can do session B more often? Just kidding ofcourse, but daamn. Watching your insane progress is just very motivating. Always helps reminding me to stick with the program and it'll deliver, so thanks!
  19. I really don't get it either xD And don't worry, organic chicken is insanely expensive everywhere! I think it's mostly because the 'regular' chicken can be produced so cheaply that the difference is simply staggering. But I work weekends in an organic grocery store so when it'd go off on sunday I can take it home and prepare it 'fore it goes bad Really helped with the student budget to still be able to eat good food.
  20. Thanks man I got a little taste of what it's like to catch up today, I had 64 alerts, oops! I'm loving my new toys btw, and I would absolutely love to have a crock pot. They just seem much easier and safer to use. Now I have to absolutely be in the house, can't leave a fire on without you being there, right? Me too, love anything with coconut When I first saw this floreio I thought it looked ridiculous and I didn't come even close to imagining how hard it is, hehe. Silly me! I'm glad you think so When I first saw it I thought it looked ridiculous, glad I didn't go by first impressions, hehe. Ahh I'd be curious to see how well you'd do! It takes a bit of strength which I think you probably have, but it also requires quite a bit of mobility/flexibility. Good! On my way back from school now (it's 2 hours by train), had a bit of a working frenzy for my thesis research the last couple of days, but I did well and it's going much better. Can finally talk about school topic without wanting to go sit in a corner and cry, so yay. :X Will report back after gym this evening!
  21. Thanks for the tip! And yay for jerks It's not exactly rules, it's just that the movements need to be controlled and making a lot of sound when you place a foot or a hand back on the floor is a clear sign that it wasn't controlled. I'm really curious to see some of your flows Thanks for the tip! That is a brilliant idea, so yes, absolutely I'm sure lex would join us and maybe wolverine? And there are a lot of assassins doing yoga. Thank you Chris Doing stuff that's hard can be a lot of fun! I thought the food was yumm, but my bf doesn't like chicken so I don't make it very often, such a shame.. Just the usual, salt, pepper, garlic, ehh.. lemme do this in dutch; komijn, paprika, ui en kerriepoeder. And thanks! I'm making a big collection of video's. I'm kinda imagining that someday it'll be fun to look back at them and be all like "ahhh remember the good ol' days when that stuff was hard?" hehehe. Thanks Rybo!
  22. Great going, it might not seem like much but i'm impressed you managed to do so much after 10 hours of work! Nice that you managed to make it to the driving range for a bit. Loved the mini-conversation with the yoga teacher I like reading your updates, and not just because of the puns, hehe. Did you read hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy? I had to ask because of the towel.
  23. No problem! Using the least resistance bands is pretty awesome, even if they're not full ROM. Great you're already gonna do a squats set with 20's next time! Already can't wait for that update, hehe. Great job on the workout Great that you're getting danish classes! A girlfriend from a good friend of mine did the same type of class with dutch, she's now fluent enough to be able to follow along during party's and such- and that's pretty good with drunk ppl and all yknow. It's a huge time commitment, but I'm guessing it'll be well worth it so yay!
  24. Nice workout! Great idea! It'll hopefully give you the chance to sit down with him for a bit, which would give you a lot more time to ask questions and such compared to if you'd just say hi while he's in the yard.
  25. Day 8; Shark attack so I decided to skip the gym, did some cooking instead. Made rice with veggies in coconut sauce and roasted chicken legs! Ate that for dinner (and more for breakfast today) and froze a portion to find out how well that freezes. Will eat it sometime soon so I'll know. Picture! On a side note, I'm stuck for ideas how to label my packages. Anything that's sticky doesn't really work on them.. Any suggestions? Day 9; To make up for missing a day I spend 2 hours in the gym; floreio and kettlebells with a little break in between. Floreio is really, really fun and really, REALLY hard. I'm focusing on progressions for the lizard, after a minute of practice my heart rate is through the roof and my limbs are shaking as if I'd done a 50min workout. Never expected that. (here's a link to a video of a full lizard, it's only a bit sloppy) Today I worked on perfecting step 2 (it needs to be fluid and you're not allowed to make any sound when placing your feet on the floor). That went well enough that I got to work on step 3, which went pretty ok but will still need a lot of work. Here's a video of step 2; Don't laugh at me! I feel like such a weak lil' kitten when I do this, but my bf says I'm actually doing very good. Kettlebell work was grip first; 2x20 swings first with 16kg, then 18kg, then 20kg. So 120 swings total. Then technique work, just cleans with the 18kg, 2x 4minutes. This was sucking all the fun out of kettlebells, so I decided to do something fun that didn't involve this grip stuff, so jerks! Did a max set of jerks with 24kg, 4 on left arm and 6 on right. Roar
