  1. Great challenge! and an excellent training plan
  2. That sounds very good. A semester is like 3 months? Yes, was actually my first thought upon reading your new challenge. Fits more in the mental health category for me!
  3. Pistols are very cool! but your first harvest is even cooler and impressive, that's early. I've only had some salad so far!
  4. Everywhere except the Netherlands! But we had a huge strike going on at Albert Heijn's so that's something I had fun catching up, listening to some music, being the only one to understand your fiscal joke.
  5. Congrats on all the writing! It is very impressive to me
  6. That's the reason I started with a gratitude journal. Someone explained it to me as exercise for your emotional bandwidth, so you pick a positive emotion that comes easily to you and then practice feeling that for a bit every day, which then strengthens stuff and makes it easier to bounce back after emotions in the other range. I think gratitude probably works for a lot of people, but we (this was during a course) actually tracked positive emotions for a week to figure out which one was felt most often/easily. It was gratitude for me. Excellent challenge Tanktimus! Love your track record of taking care of yourself.
  7. I think it's probably a good sign when therapy is emotional and draining? but I hope you're feeling better this week!
  8. Yeah she's alright too busy exploring the world to be on the forums I think!
  9. that's a huge win It really sounds like you've got it covered! Don't the Bulgarian split squats also hit your quads? that's where I feel them most x)
  10. 4 weeks does fit very well with the mulligan idea at least in magic you get one card less when you mulligan.
  11. thank you! I love the taste of blackberries- and this one is a variation with larger fruit and less needles, pretty much perfect. Though it probably will try to take over the entire garden eventually.. but that's what swords are for!
  12. Hope your stomach was better the rest of the week? That's awesome! What kind of supplemental single leg things have you been doing?
  13. Maybe that cold is also responsible for some of the other exhaustion, hopefully you'll feel a bit better in general when it's gone! And yes, would love to know how you guys are doing after.
  14. That's great! I love that slowly the taboo around these topics is being chipped away.
  15. It was a beautiful day, warm and sunny! I was at work from 9:00 to 13:00 and from there went straight to the garden. The kids were with me, they helped a little and played a lot we stayed out until dinner time. I got sunburned I did not get my taxes done in time, so I've requested an extension and plan to get some help from a professional this coming week. And I suppose that's it for this challenge.. it was challenging! but I think I've learned a lot and made some progress. I'm not done with the psychologist thing nor all the other headspace stuff. The all or something will have to continue. The hardest part has probably been that it's hard to be satisfied/pleased with work I've done when it hardly seems to make a dent in the mount doom of work to be done looming over me. I wish I could freeze time and take down mount doom without life just throwing new rocks on top of there. But I've been working really hard on not accepting/creating more work (beyond the necessary), hopefully that will create some breathing room. Not sure about next challenge yet, I think I'll sleep on it. Thanks for being here!
  16. You don't have to dig, perhaps you can just cover it with some compost and plant new things
  17. Yesterday I worked literally all day, 9:30-21:30. Only took a break to attend the kettlebell class, which went much better than expected. Today I had 1on1s in the morning and I taught a weightlifting beginners workshop in the afternoon. It went well. Afterwards I did some clean and jerks of my own, including one at 50kg which I enjoyed still being able to do. Dropped by the garden real quick on my way home, I’m enjoying it so much and it’s really good for my headspace. oh and I asked for help with something today!
  18. I really wish I could tell you but Jaap and the kids ate them without me! They said they were much tastier, but that could just be the fresh from our own garden effect. Thanks! And yes! Come join us
  19. It's not that much of a problem for me because I'm focused on growing food and that's mostly one-year plants.. but yeah, I get that too- I would love to put in more asparagus, but that's only worthwhile if we'll be on this plot for 5+ more years. But a lot of things you could move, like the raised beds we put in, we could just move those to a new plot. And the apple tree, we can move that. So maybe just focus on things you could take with you? and focus on that you'll enjoy it NOW, it's not for some unknown future.
  20. Definitely! Today was a holiday, kingsday. And while I don’t agree with having a monarchy I do enjoy some of the festivities. We went to the rommelmarkt in the city centre, where lots of kids lay out a blanket with their old stuff to sell and other kids play guitar or do face paint or make necklaces. We bought a bunch of books and puzzles for next to nothing. The afternoon was spend in both gardens, which was great! I posted some pics in the gardening thread. And in the evening I went to the gym to get some work done on our taxes while the place was empty and quiet, but it wasn’t very easy to focus so I got less done than I would have liked.
  21. Those goats ❤️ Very exciting! That is excellent! Hope day 4 is also feeling good.
  22. I know absolutely nothing about job searching and definitely nothing about the specifics of your situation, so I can't really chime in.. but I think you're doing really awesome caring for yourself by going to the gym and cooking when you feel like it and allowing not cooking when you need it. Good job Tank!
