  1. I have never before cared about basketball before, but I'll be cheering for them now
  2. Love your butterfly fairy! I'm very tempted to join in, but I have no experience and already too many hobbies..
  3. Spend a couple of hours in the garden today! Putting in some seedlings, killing dandelions, relocating strawberry runners and planting purple potatoes Some pictures behind the spoiler.
  4. I hope this won't end up being necessary but it does sound like an excellent plan!
  5. Catching up! that retreat sounds so amazing, such a great way to connect with people I love following your process with writing your own program, all the small details and realisations along the way! How often you need to deload ofcourse also depends on how much volume you're doing, hopefully with the reduced volume for legs 5-6 weeks will be manageable. But I thought I'd share that I have a lot of people on a 4-1 or even a 3-1 schedule, so that wouldn't be a bad thing either. And ofc I also have a lot of people on 5-1!
  6. This morning I went for a hike with the kids, it was cold but very nice out. After lunch I did the therapy thing, it was pretty good. Then I had work. Had a decent training session in fragments inbetween work.
  7. Afaik people with Addison's still make adrenaline, so that could fit. But Addison's or not, it seems like a really great idea to get all those hormones checked!
  8. Tuesday I blocked time for a proper workout but got interrupted 3 times so it turned into a something workout. Then I took my 6yo for a paediatrician checkup, eyes and ears and growth all functioning properly In the afternoon we went to a museum, then I briefly considered getting fries for dinner but cooked something simple instead.
  9. This is probably silly and just something I’m thinking because it’s something I’m familiar with- but the improvements after increasing salt combined with some of your other symptoms made me think of addisons disease. That’s something that can be determined with a blood test but it is very very rare so it’s not something they regularly test for. Well, like I said, it’s probably a silly thought, but maybe worth mentioning?
  10. Me too! x) Maintenance is one of the hardest parts of dieting, especially when there is the anticipation/expectation of more cuts to come. Does a real number on your head! I hope you can come up with a plan that feels right for now.
  11. Bit late, but those shelves look great, love the paint! Sorry 'bout the dark hole, it sucks. And guilt towards your first child is really a thing, it was pretty bad for me in the first couple months after the baby came too. It ebbs away, though it still sometimes hits me because I'll be more patient with the 3yo and she gets more physical contact throughout the day while the 6yo gets corrected far more often and ugh. Luckily it does get compensated by precious sibling moments ❤️
  12. Hello gardening friends! I've spent a lot of time in the garden the past two weeks, half of it in my own community plot and half of it helping a friend setup a large kitchen garden of het own. My own garden; My friend's garden;
  13. I'm sorry things are so hard Harriet! You probably don't have the energy for this at the moment, but when you do, maybe it'd be worthwhile to browse past challenges and make a sort of map of how you were doing. It's common to feel like things are generally going downhill in a low moment/period, while it might not seem that way during better days. Maybe the pacing really hasn't helped at all, maybe it has, I'm trying to respectfully suggest you might not really know at the moment?
  14. Anxiety should sod off, but it's very understandable considering. Maybe some slow breathing will help a bit? And a reminder that the 'new situations are scary and anxiety inducing' and the 'this may be a great opportunity to find more fulfilling work' can exist at the same time and it's ok to feel those both. Mandarin oranges are a favourite with my kids too. You're definitely giving her the best start you possibly could! ❤️
  15. This is familiar! Sometimes really wish there was a sort of reset button or a giant pause button so I can sort out my stuff before having to go on with life. Maybe also sleep for a week I suppose we'll just have to make do with small breaks and trying to regain strength while everything continues. This is lovely! Maybe a matching list with all the things you already have and deserve and are grateful for?
  16. That's a lot of work done in the garden Love the extra smol lettuce. I'm late for this one, but it is still exciting! And so awesome that they did it for you, extra secure
  17. That sounds very nice and with excellent results Thanks for sharing! I like the extra options for gratitude practicing they've listed and that leave on a stream exercise is very interesting.
  18. I really thought that this challenge I might actually keep up the semi-daily updates, but I let two weeks go by without updating, booooo! x) There are reasons ofc, I think I mentioned my mom being homeless atm and coming to stay with us for a while.. so since just before easter I hardly had any real alone time so I skipped a couple updates and then that created a barrier and then here we are! Meanwhile there was also a lot of drama and stuff happening, around finding my mom a temporary place to stay (that's sorted now!) and with my sisters health issues and her narcissist husband. Not to mention the draining therapy stuff. But I haven't slacked on the challenge. There was a lot of asking for help. Jaap is now in charge of laundry- which was hard for me to let go but actually does bring a lot of peace of mind. I asked a friend for help with a hard email I had to write (body doubling). Did a lot of something-training sessions except the last couple of days as it is that time of the month. Did quite a few other things for work and the garden despite feelings of doooom. So ehm, I'll try to finish this week strong!
  19. Hey! Good to see you Probably yes! Annoying/frustrating though x) Thanks for asking! I'll finally update in a sec.
  20. Yesterday was a very good day (because SUN) we had friends over for brunch, went for a bike ride and a kid friendly hike, had family spontaneously drop by for sitting in the sun and dinner, then went to watch the Easter fires which I really really love. Hope you all had a good Easter too!
  21. Thank you they enjoyed it! im glad you also think so.
  22. Friday we had a homeschool meet where we hid eggs in the woods and drew treasure maps to keep track of them. After swimming lessons in the afternoon I went to work and joined the kettlebell class after. It was an intense class! My mom came home from visiting her brother in turkey for the past couple weeks and she’ll be staying with us for a while since she’s homeless at the moment. Today I had a full work day and did a short workout during my lunch break. I wasted a lot of time unable to get started on an important task, but I did get it done in the end. In the morning we had another swimming lesson and I spoke to one of the teachers about an incident the previous day and that was a bit scary but I did it. So I suppose I did two hard things today, which is better to think about than the amount of time I wasted. (one of the teachers had grabbed my daughter by the arm pretty harshly and said ‘if you don’t do it right this time you can just go shower and go home’ which I really thought crossed a line- it was mostly hard to address because one of my best friends works there and im normally so happy with this place, they are really kind and great)
  23. Not at all, it was a very apt comparison, don’t apologise and thank you very much! I do wonder if they ever encounter 3 year olds who can’t stack blocks! My eldest refused to cooperate with those tests at all when she was 3, but when she whispered her explanation to me in perfect grownup language the lady stopped fussing about it x)
  24. That sounds great EG This I recognise! I remember a YouTube video somewhere that said to list all the 5 minute tasks you have and just go from there. From Huw whatshisname..
