  1. Sorry for the slow pace - got caught up with a couple busy weeks at work. I must say, I'm quite impressed with the level of Seth digging thus far with the dwarf story.
  2. Pariwena gathered her pack a little closer after hearing the elven thief outed by the dwarf... better safe than sorry, after all. As the hubbub began to die down, she looked back at the half-elf who had challenged her to a game. "A game, huh? Which one did you have in mind?" she asked with a smirk. It's been a while, but I'd imagine I can take him in most of these games... And I could definitely use a free drink!

I'm sorry the back is still being tweaky. Glad to hear you haven't fallen off the earth. Hope to see you back at it soon!
  4. It was better - not great, but better. And ohhh holidays. This is going to be interesting... Ha! Yeah... but I found that when I slept in on the weekends, it was like taking a bad jet-laggy vacation. I do much better during the week if I maintain a rough semblance of the same sleep schedule on the weekend. It makes for some super grandma moments when I beg out of parties at 10:30 because I'm ready to pass out, but overall I'm a much happier person when I stick to it...
  5. Better than last week is important. And I definitely understand. Even with just me and my husband, the "but donuts" cries often wind up with a meal out. Good job getting a little bit closer - keep it up!
  6. lol! Dude! I love that you just up and decided to do a half on a whim. There's still a little Scout in you.
  7. It's awesome that you've found an exercise group/plan that you love. I'm sure you'll be making progress lightning fast with the extra guidance!
  8. Week 5 was a lot better, all things considered. I got in 3 runs (woot for actually training for a 5k) and one yoga session. We did extremely well eating in during the week and really only ate out because we were out and about running errands on Saturday and Sunday. Sleep is still all wacky. I actually wound up sleeping in until almost 9 on Saturday. I can't even remember the last time I slept past 8:00. I'm pretty sure I was sick that time. Blergh.
  9. Based on your tracking, though, it looks like you are still doing pretty well! Keep it up!
  10. Hey smurray! Hope you were able to finish out last week strong. Glad to hear the calf is feeling better - did you enjoy your workouts again?
  11. Haven't heard from you in a while, so I thought I'd check in. Hope the challenge is going well! Last week this week!
  12. Just popping in again really quick. Hope things are ok!
  13. Have you seen the trailer for the 50th?! I don't quite know what to think of it yet... Hope your challenge is going well.

Hey Mac! I hope you had a great time in France. Can't wait to hear how you're doing when you have a moment to catch your breath.
  15. Small victories for the win! I'm finding with push-ups I'm having a similar experience to your pull-ups. Depending on time of day, level of exhaustion, and how well I've been eating my performance varies hugely. Some days I can crank out ten on the floor, other days I'm struggling to get 8 on the stairs. Usually it's a matter of how recently I've eaten and how fresh I am. Have you noticed any common trends on days when you seem to be struggling on your pull-ups? Hopefully the little one feels better soon!
  16. One workout done... Yoga tonight! How goes food for you?!
  17. Great job last week Laureleye! And glad to hear you felt good on your run. Hopefully your strength training will continue to strengthen that knee for you.
  18. Week 5 Days 1 & 2: Getting a lot more on track. Still off on sleeping... Mission 1 Strong (1/5): Went for a run yesterday, have yoga on the schedule for today. Mission 2 Healthy (0 meals): Made some pumpkin chili and chicken enchiladas... So excited it's fall and oven cooking season again! Mission 3 Good Behavior (4/14): On track so far. Supplemental Sleep (3 points): Overslept Monday. So much sleepy...
  19. Way to go MLP! 2 minutes against the wall is impressive.
  20. Week 4 Summary: Got marginally back on track, but still room to improve. Mission 1 Strong (3/5): All of them running. Gotta get better for my 5k on Thanksgiving! Mission 2 Healthy (2 meals): We picked up groceries as soon as we got back, but we went out for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Mission 3 Good Behavior (10/14): Did better, but I know I wasn't perfect. Supplemental Sleep (9 points): No seriously. Slept late almost every day.
  21. Haha! I was about to throw back some smack talk... but you're forgiven. I did get much closer on the exercise front last week! Bring on Week 5!
  22. A roar of cheers erupts from the Panda Brewing tables, jolting Pariwena from her reverie. As she glances over at the tavern, she notices that she has company at the tree. With a quick half smile at the man, she gets up and brushes herself off - double checking her pack and pockets to make sure everything is secure. I wonder what's got everyone so worked up at the tavern. It's a bit early for people to be this rowdy! Upon closer approach, she realized that a few of the locals had beaten traveling merchants in a game of coppers. Coppers! I haven't played that game in years. I can't believe it's still being played in these parts... Rather than drawing attention to herself, though, she found a quite spot at the end of the bar and ordered a small pint of the Panda Smith's Day Special. The barmaid passed her the beer. "Thank you," Pariwena said softly, before relishing the first sip. The earthy ale had a light spice to it and struck her as a perfect embodiment of the spirit. The barmaid bustled off to the other customers and Pariwena settled in, keeping a watchful (and amused) eye on her fellow patrons. Just as she was about to take another sip, the bar jumped as one of the men nearby thumped it with his fist... (Edited slightly by Gainsdalf.)
  23. Haha! I don't even know how to describe it. Alone, I don't know that I would do it again... but I could totally see using it like bacon fat in cooking. Anyway. New experience? We'll chalk it up to that. Good choices were made... aside from some dancing at the wedding, there wasn't much time for workouts. But I feel like I've spent far too much time this challenge dwelling on what I haven't done, rather than what I still can do. Need to get on that. Thanks for this.
  24. Your goals are your goals. You should make them what you need them to be. But yay for actually getting OT pay!
