  1. I know I struggled with macros last challenge as well. I pretty much wound up focusing on calories/protein and let the carbs and fat fall wherever. Hopefully you'll be able to figure out what works best for you. And chin up! Go do stuff! Don't give up!
  2. Yeah, week 1 wasn't quite to plan, but much needed. Week 2 is feeling much stronger!
  3. Glad you've identified and remedied the sources of stress and slacking. Way to get on it!
  4. Have fun on your run - don't over do it!
  5. Yay sleep! Glad to hear that planning ahead is keeping you on track for staying paleo-ish. Keep it up!

    Easy Mac

I hope your week is going well, Mac!
  7. I don't know if you've seen, but Waldo is doing a Q&A challenge this go-round. He's a bit of a guru when it comes to macros and nutrition targets - he might be able to help you out. Your fat target seems really low given how high your protein goal is. I may be completely off base on that, but he might be able to help you find alternatives for protein sources as well...
  8. Week 2 / Day 3 Status: Nothing major to report. Took a rest day, my back needed it. Mission 1 Strong (2/5): Needed a day off. Mission 2 Healthy (0 meals): Going much better this week. Mission 3 Good Behavior (6/14): Both routines complete. Supplemental Sleep (5 points): In bed and awake according to schedule. Almost slept in, but I keep thinking back to when I woke just before my alarm every day. That was the best.
  9. Glad at least one thing is going well. And it sounds like you are staying mostly on track with the sweets as well. A slip up now and then isn't a big deal, just keep it infrequent and you're still doing much better than you were before you started! Glad to hear you're still sticking with it.
  10. Oh no!! Rest up and keep up the icing/ibuprofen. Hopefully you'll be back at it soon.
  11. Ahh perspective. So awesome and yet it kinda takes the wind out of your sails when you've psyched yourself up to be cranky. Glad to hear that your day of sabotage was only a slight meander off the path. Make today awesome and know that I'm super impressed with how well you are managing your schedule this challenge. I know that I'd be a lot worse off given a comparable situation.
  12. I think squeezing in whatever practice you can get in your already crazy schedule is uber impressive. Make the most of the time you have and don't stress about getting in marathon sessions. To be honest, a marathon of anything is hard to fit in these days.
  13. Sounds like a good break day! Hope you enjoyed the fair.
  14. Week 2 / Day 2 Status: I dug out some of our crappy modular hand weights for dumbbell rows finally. My shoulders hurt. Mission 1 Strong (2/5): BBWW circuit style. 3 rounds of: Body weight squats: 20 (No support required, but I could feel myself leaning pretty far forward toward the end.) 2nd Stair Push-ups: 10 (I think I'm going to start augmenting these with some push-up alternatives like wide set / diamonds to try and see a little more improvement.) Single Leg Deads: 10 (each side. Holy wobbly batman.) 25# Rows: 13 (each side) Mission 2 Healthy (0 meals): I may have eaten a small armies worth of spaghetti and meat sauce, but it was tasty. Mission 3 Good Behavior (4/14): Both routines complete. So I've tweaked up my routines a bit now that fall is starting to set in. Fall around here means super dry weather, so I've removed the morning face wash and replaced it with exfoliating 3x/week. Skin was feeling super dry. Supplemental Sleep (3 points): Couldn't fall asleep last night, so I wound up playing some sudoku on the phone to calm the brain. Electronics went off at 10:11. Up on time, though.
  15. Ok, ok! I promise I'll do fartleks on my run tonight.
  16. I like the plan for how to stay "on track" with your paleo goals. The challenges are about what works for you. It's definitely better to give yourself a break once in a while if it means you stay on track for most of it. Way to keep up with the exercise goals too - how are you liking crossfit?
  17. Good luck on your panel! I'm sure you'll be awesome. (And OMG. Fall is the best.)
  18. Fartleks have made me cry. More than once. But yes, once I get back to feeling somewhat comfortable at 3 miles again, I plan to bring back the fartleks. With the hills in my neighborhood, though, I feel like I get some pretty good variation in my intensity during a normal run... I know! Hence why I'm trying to work on it now. And thanks, this week feels good already...
  19. Yay playgrounds and YAY PUPPEH! Also, great job on sticking with C25K. It can get a little frustrating in the early weeks, but you are doing well. Keep it up! Also, sad face, because apparently puppy pics don't show for me.
  20. Whew. Finally got my sheet in. Since we already had a bard and a couple of clerics (and my rolls weren't fantastic), I just went in as a generic fighter. Can't wait!
