  1. Heyyyy I found you! Hope your back is feeling better soon. Best wishes with week 3 Wow! So will you be posting the photos of your tidy room? That is great work. - Adventuress x
  2. Hi Thank you for your replies Motivating and inspiring! This week I've been busier and found my level of organisation has been slipping. In one week, two of my siblings and both my parents have birthdays with a night (or day) celebration organised for each of them which so far has been lots of fun but not very challenge orientated. I felt really proud of myself for saying "no thanks" to four pieces of birthday cake... but I lost that feeling after I munched through several chocolate freddo frogs today (which I bought as my nephew was having a school fundraiser and I couldn't say no to his puppy dog eyes!). This left me feeling guilty and fat and sorry for myself , so I distracted myself with Draw Something 2 in my break instead of doing stair runs... Ohhh, I need a spanking! Park Run... I will go this Saturday morning and walk it... if I feel like running for a bit then I will run. It really isn't a good time for me as on Fridays I go out so on Saturday morning I like to sleep in til 7-7:30am instead of waking earlier to run. Unfortunately, they don't host it any other times. Also, I worry I will overdo it and need to rest and recover. Also, I worry what people might think of my run, like I feel like I might knock myself out and my arms do this prissy chicken flap thing. lol. I used to participate in fun runs all the time and enjoyed feeling proud of myself afterwards, and I guess I made this goal because I wanted to feel this sense of accomplishment as well as doing some training (apart from choosing an outfit to wear!) towards The Stampede I'm booked in to do later this year. Thank you once again for your posts, I really wish I had better news to report. - Adventuress x
  3. Hi Dentinith, Sounds like you are doing well to me and beating yourself up about such as life instances. It's a new week to shine. How are you going Muryanp? - Adventuress x PS - Stop procrastinating and get your arse on the piano stool! Five minutes or a run through the song each day.
  4. Hey! I had a good first week. I found it difficult to focus and remember so many tasks so I wrote them down and most mornings I have been reading them just before I get out of bed. Also, I have them on my desk at work as a reminder. And I put my hula hoop in front of my tv because I have grown a habit of getting home and going directly to the tv and slothing to unwind without really thinking or wanting to watch anything in particular. Over the Friday-weekend-Monday, I was away at a conference which had a built in boxing exercise session each day with yoga in the evening. I went for a long walk in the arvos which I enjoyed as it helped me to process the day and shake off sitting down for so long (and avoid peak hour traffic!). I took a packed lunch and had a picnic which was healthier, cheaper, saved time and very relaxing. I stumbled down the stairs going into the car park and hurt my knee(ouch!!), so I haven't been doing the stair runs now I am back at work, instead swapping this with doing push ups on the edge of my desk. The hula hoop hurts my knee so I have been doing it one legged, lol, I feel ridiculous and unco, but happy that I am doing something... not everyone can hula hoop one legged. I've written a goal that I don't want to work for, , I don't want to wake up early and do Park Run, sure I want the results, I just don't want to work for it. I'm not sure what to do, perhaps I should go and walk it until I feel ready to increase it to a run? Or maybe I should sleep in? - Adventuress x
  5. Nine days of straight exercise? That is not good, I am sure after a weekend of relaxing and body repairing etc you will be ready to get back into this week. You are doing great, I can see how you are feeling a little discouraged. I too exercise after work and three days a week I don't get home until after 9pm because of this and the worst is when my team is scheduled to play at 9pm... meaning I don't get home until just after 11pm. I am sure because I don't like it, it happens more often, lol. The bike ride is part of your workout though? Hey?! Who knows? You might create a soundtrack to dance too, lol.
  6. Yay!! I'm looking forward to the rendition I agree with Muryanp, watch that you don’t burn out. On the weekend I was at a conference and the speaker there said that we need to make sure we aren’t over exercising as this is detrimental as it spikes the body’s inflammatory responses and leads to injury and illness. So to prevent this make sure that there are warm ups, warm downs, drink a protein supplement immediately after training (especially weight training), to get adequate sleep/rest and to have rest days. Also, that each training day a week we should always have a predominate training session based on an element - such as FIRE (anaerobic eg interval training, exercise with recovery) eg Sprint Runs, swim sprintsEARTH (strength training, slow, heavy, steady) eg. Body weight trainingWATER (aerobic activity – flowing exercise) eg dance, aerobics, basketballAIR (breathe) e.g meditation And that for those who prefer the Yang (Fire or Earth) based exercises should always mix it with some Yin (Water or Air) type exercise to create balance in their lives and prevent injury, and vice versa. I was really surprised to discover that meditation could be classed as a “workoutâ€. And that I prefer to exercise in the water element, yoga, dance, jogging. Oh. I’ve just noticed I have rambled, lol, well, I found it interesting!! Adventuress - x
  7. Lol, mental head slap to myself about Call to Duty, I thought that you were training to be a fireman or in the elite forces or something... (Obviously) I am not into gaming so much...
  8. Loved your 10minutes! I found a secluded garden and sat and soaked up some sun (for the last three days!), it isn't much but it brought so much joy to my days away from home to sit and think and take my shoes off and feel the grass under my feet in the middle of the city... yeah, I've totally commandeered your goal
  9. Hi Winter Tempest I too am excited by this challenge and have enjoyed reading through lots of peoples goals, including yours . Burpees, blah. What is your lifestyle goal? Ooooh something fun I hope!! Adventuress - x
  10. Wow! Great start You sound like a super organised person, I am sure you will blitz these goals. I am not sure what "sacred" times are... does this mean that for 5 hours on a Monday morning you are uncontactable to the outside world?? Sounds like heaven to me! Adventuress - x
  11. Congratuations on the birth of your little one! I love your goals but remember not to put too much pressure on yourself in what must be an extremely rewarding experience for you as you learn new routines and enjoy getting to know your little one. I like your superpower, haha. I love yoga too Adventuress - x
  12. Hi Detinith, I like all your goals, seems like you are already well on the way to being where you want to be! Well done on your past success and good luck for your future success! I too look forward to seeing or hearing your piano playing Will you be singing too? lol. I haven't heard of Couch to 5K before... seems like a good programme that I will look up a bit later, usually (okay always) I train on the day of a fun run which hasn't been working out too well for me. Adventuress - x
  13. Hi Azul, Your goals are a total lifestyle revamp! I'm interested! What did you choose to do today for 10 minutes?? I actually feel like stealing this goal, very exciting! Adventuress - x
  14. Love the start you have made on your goals! What is Call to Duty?? Sounds pretty serious! I look forward to hearing more tomorrow
  15. Thanks for your responses LadyofLayton, I hear you! I love exercise and I love eating... but I have to say I enjoy food a lot more than exercise. At the start of this year I began doing what you are doing with adding healthier foods but I soon realised that to add something I needed to subtract something else, or I need to be swapping one choice with a better choice. Each meal I have that is not good for me is at the expense of nutritious food, a better choice - for instance, if I have a biscuit/cookie for morning tea then this is at the expense of the goodness of blueberries or other fruit or a boiled egg or a handful of nuts etc. So rather than saying "no" to a certain food, I am saying "yes to a better choice" My nutritionist is good, but it is up to me whether I choose to follow her advice, take the prescribed vitamins and herbs, or if I agree with her... for instance she hugely advocates organic soy milk and from my own research I disagree with her and do my own thing etc. Gilfren, totally rewiring...!! So much information to absorb here and for free or reasonably priced!! I paid $199 to do an online weightloss challenge (calories burnt through mouse clicks, lol, just kidding) that had limited resourses and none were available after the challenge. Sandree, I love hooping, so much fun! And besides it is great having a party trick Adventuress - x
