  1. Great job! Keep going, but watch out, the bridge in Khazad-dum is a little rickety.
  2. Ok, haven't seen your final results. How did you do?
  3. Ok, haven't seen your final results. How did you do? Meant to post here and not on your other thread....

  5. Grats! Way to embrace the signs of victory that don't come from the scale!
  6. Grats! Great job so far...keep it up!
  7. Thanks for the words of congrats and encouragement...that's what keeps us going!
  8. Woot! Today is 30 days since my last soda. Made my goal for the last challenge. Funny thing is that in giving up 32oz per day of soda, I added about 64oz per day of water. Interesting factoid...water makes you pee...
  9. Grats! Way to roll back the clock and get fit!
  10. Grats! Great job...certainly a case where quitter is not a bad thing...
  11. Grats! She picks things up, she puts them down.
  12. For many runners, the extra space is preferred. When you run distance in shoes that are too small, your toes can hit the end of the shoes and cause blisters/toe nail issues. Hence the usual recommendation that you use running shoes 1/2 size larger than your regular shoes. http://running.about.com/od/commonrunninginjuries/p/blacktoenail.htm
  13. Whew! Finally done with this challenge. Definitely a struggle to make it through. Goal 1 - Complete "Finally Do A Pull Up Level 2" +4 STR No progress. Pretty much exactly where I started but considering the effort I put in it's certainly understandable. No points. Goal 2 - Work up to 6 hours per day using stability ball instead of a chair +1 STR, +2 DEX, +2 STA Technically I made the goal of getting to the point where I used the ball all the time I was in the office. But I really don't like it. It's ok for an hour or two. Had a sore leg for a few days. Not workout sore, but hurt sore. I think the ball might have been a factor. Accomplished the goal, but not sure it was the right goal to have. Grade C (+.5 STR, +1 DEX, +1 STA) Goal 3 - Eliminate soda +2 CON, +2 WIS At the beginning, I was averaging 2 16oz sodas per day, so 14 for the week. Week 1 - 6 for the week, Week 2 - 1 for the week, Week 3 - 1 for the week, Week 4 - 0 for the week, Week 5 - 0 for the week, Week 6 - 0 for the week. Last soda was on June 19...tomorrow will be 1 month. Grade A+ (+2 CON, +2 WIS). Thanks to Feistysurgeon and summerose for the help! Goal 4 - Post one positive comment/word of encourgement per day (average) to someone working on their fitness/weight goals +2 CHA On average I accomplished this goal with more that 42 posts during the challenge. Even better news, is that I feel like some of my posts made a difference helping someone else and folks reply posting really helped me. A better result than expected! Grade A (+2 CHA). Other non-goal (and therefore, non-point) progress. - Was able to get up to 5 sec on the crow. Feels like I'm getting close to another break through to go longer but don't want to be too optimistic. - Nailed down deadlift form and have a place to start. Thanks to huskerfan for the help! Not sure what's up for the next challenge. Have family visiting and work will be very busy next month. Plus, August is a busy birthday month. Maybe the goal needs to just simply be...don't drive the bus into a ditch.

  15. Same boat here. Well, not school but many other things which will mess up the next 6 weeks. Good luck whichever you decide.
  16. Goals are highly individual (duh), but they do seem to be balanced. Two fitness, one health, and one life. Also, they don't look like they conflict with one another. Most importantly, they follow the SMART philosophy. Must be good... In your comment, I think you hit on a key element. "I want to try". Well, figure out how to make that into a goal for yourself. If it's already on your agenda, setting the goal just adds some accountability for you. Maybe it's try one new recipe per week...write it down here or better yet, tell the family. Then they'll be expecting it..."hey, where's that new food you promised?" You almost have three picked out balance, parkour, and new food. Just need to figure out how to get them into the right frame work.
  17. Get going girl! Only one week left!
  18. Haven't been online or to the gym near as much as I would have liked in the last few weeks. Still making progress but not near as much as I would have liked. Goal 1 - Virtually no progress here. Move forward slightly then backward as I miss too many workouts. Pretty much at the same point I started 5 weeks ago. Grade projection F Goal 2 - Used the ball last week but ended up going home Wednesday with some leg/back pain. Took several days to go away. Think it was from using the ball but not certain. I accomplished the goal of using the ball consistently during work hours, but not sure I want to keep up with it. Grade projection C (accomplished the goal, but not sure it was the right goal to have) Goal 3 - At the beginning, I was averaging 2 16oz sodas per day, so 14 for the week. Week 1 - 6 for the week, Week 2 - 1 for the week, Week 3 - 1 for the week, Week 4 - 0 for the week, Week 5 - 0 for the week. Grade projection A+ Goal 4 - On average I accomplished this goal...as of this morning 42 encouraging posts (across several sites) which equates to 1 per day for the challenge and I still have a few days to go. I didn't log on and post everyday but made a heavy effort in the beginning which paid off with several folks encouraging me and offering helpful tips. Grade projection A
  19. Good luck! Start thinking about goals for the next challenge. The last week of this one and 1 week break in between will go by fast.
  20. Welcome back...figured you were lost in the jungle of life. Great news that you've been able to keep on track with the goals. Less than 2 weeks left, so good luck in the last 10 days.
  21. Ok, another mixed bag last week. Extremely busy so didn't get as far along as I would have liked. Goal 1 - Only made it to the gym twice last week. Lots of other busy acitivites which would count as quasi-exercise (walking, carrying luggage, etc) but unfortunately not much really helped toward the goal. Goal 2 - Wasn't in the office much last week, but when I was, I was using the ball. Probably used the ball over 50% of the time available. Not sure how I'm going to count that. Goal 3 - About ready to call this one a success. At the beginning, I was averaging 2 16oz sodas per day, so 14 for the week. Week 1 - 6 for the week, Week 2 - 1 for the week, Week 3 - 1 for the week, and Week 4 - 0 for the week. Thanks to FeistySurgeon and Summerose for the help and encouragement. Goal 4 - Good progress here too. Again, not posting every day, but over 30 posts since the challenge started. Other non-graded goals: Crow - Can consistently get 5 sec. Still not very graceful, but making progress. Deadlift Baseline - Not quite there yet, but been working on form with very light weights. Will be ready to set a baseline soon so I can have a deadlift goal in the next challenge. Thanks to huskerfan.
  22. Thanks! My wife's aunt and uncle were visiting so we went to the mountains. 86 degrees at home and 90 degrees in the mountains. Also the irony of snow still on the peaks...go figure.
  23. Now there's a success you probably didn't expect. Progress is progress so congrats!
