  1. aww, I miss having kitty cats running around. I know young kittens can be a handful. Hope the housewarming party goes well!
  2. This last has been a whole bag of meh. I did track a little, but really had some mental struggles going on. Stopped doing any walking. Still was reading, but have been defaulting back to reading at like midnight or 1, then going to bed after 2am. Went to bed at 4am one night. So really feeling not great mentally, then being tired from lack of sleep means more and more not wanting to do anything. So pretty much just moving last week to the trash. No need to dwell on what I didn't do, and try working on what I can do this week Last night, I did actually go for a walk. In Pokemon Go, the current even gives me double incense time. So my daily goes from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Last night, I took advantage. Some really exciting spawns last night. First spawn was a Dragonite. I was super shocked. I hadn't seen any Galarian bird on the daily yet, but that changed last night Of course, it was a one ball and run away. At least I finally saw it haha. It was colder last night while I was walking, but I made notice of home much I was enjoying the walk. Not just getting some cool Pokémon spawns, but getting out and doing a little "exploring" Ended up walking for 42 minutes. 1.76 miles. I tracked going up to the apartment lockers to get a package there too haha. Also did track food, even if I ate more then I should have. I hope this to help lead me into a good week this week. Squirtle community day classic in a few hours. Then I have some raiding in World of Warcraft. About to go get in some shopping now, but when will I get a walk in, no idea. Maybe after raiding haha
  3. whoopsie So totally went to bed late Thursday night. The next morning I went to see Transformers with my oldest. I had plenty of chances to go for a walk after, yet I did not. It has warmed up, but even at night I did think of it once, but was just not in the mood. Calories were high too, but I did track everything at least. Last night, I again went to bed late. Not as late as before, but still late. Got up this morning, and it felt like it was super stuffy and hot already. Decided a night/dusk walk woudl be better. 9 at night and it was still close to 80F. At least the sun wasn't beating down on me. I did get the walk in at least. I didn't want to pass on it two days in a row. Pokemon daily incense was ok Fire and dark event out, so that was most the spawns. I did catch a shiny Vulpix. not on the incense, but just one out in the wild haha. Calories tracked for today. A bit higher, but not horrible,
  4. Maybe you need to convince him that the house is the station, and he is the home lieutenant haha
  5. Good the weather was nice. Hopefully, next time you will be able to get some play time with Winnie
  6. Yeah, they do. I guess it all depends on the rewards. I could follow a route if it meant chances at a rare spawn or extra XP I suppose. Though I suppose that is suppose to happen with the daily incense too haha.
  7. Well, last night was an over day again, but I did track! I'll really need to get better at that so I can lose some weight. I also went to bed super super late. My wife and youngest kid with to my Sister-in-law for the weekend. My oldest hates to go since it is out in the middle of nowhere. So I end up staying home. He is more then old enough to stay by himself haha. So wife was up later getting things ready to go since she was getting out super early. I stayed up later and read, since there was stuff all over the bed waiting to get packed. On the flip side, I was able to still sleep in, and got a 91 sleep score. Got up and walked this morning. Pokemon Go acted really weird as I went for my walk. I think it wasn't full swapped to the mobile network. I had hit my daily incense, but nothing was spawning right away. I had to restart to get it going. New event going. Mostly all dark and fire types. Nothing amazing, but still managed 21 Pokémon. Only a couple ran. Better cadence for my walk this morning too, but man it was getting hot out there. I've got bowling tonight, then will test my blood sugar levels when I get home. No excuse to not to get to bed on time. Maybe even I should just go read in bed haha. Normally, I don't because my wife has the TV on, and usually loud.
  8. Routes is a new feature that will be coming from Pokemon Go. Basically you can map your walk from one pokestop to another, then upload it for others to follow. I think there is suppose to be extra rewards, XP, and such for following or completing a route. I haven't seen anything officially announced for all that though. The only thing I was able to do so far was create a loop route, and submit for review. I want to go out a make some others. I haven't seen a way to follow other peoples routes. bunnelby is ok, I don't have the shiny yet. I do have the 100% though
  9. Don't knock it till you try it! haha There was so many times I wondered how my previous cats could even be comfortable laying on the things they did. Also, every time I here about your Dad, I just think how? How can he be like this. A cop for 37 years, and he can't manage something like calling around to figure stuff out for his own home? There is no pressure to deal with, just shit to get done. Then I'm sure you get something set up, and it will be nothing but complaints from him to you. ugg. Sorry you have to deal with that
  10. Thanks! Good to see you too. I have been using a walmart branded https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Strawberry-Watermelon-Liquid-Drink-Enhancer-3-11-fl-oz/554299192 Never had any issue with these. Every now and then I like to see what else might be out there. I had tried these nerds drink mix https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nerds-Sugar-Free-Variety-Pack-Strawberry-Grape-Cherry-Drink-Mixes-on-the-Go-30-count/982660937 and my wife had found some Sonic Cherry Limeaid drink mix https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sonic-6ct-Cherry-Limeade-Drink-Mix-Singles-To-Go-Sugar-Free-Drink-Mix-6ct-0-54oz-15-4g/297482155 Both are really good, and I didn't even think to check the ingredients. So now I know I can't drink those haha
  11. Seems like a great option Can never go wrong with some butter chicken haha
  12. Walked faster today, and my shin was feeling it, so I slowed down haha. Another day of nothing special on my daily. Had 2 pokemon run even Yesterday was a day I just kept feeling hungry. So I had more calories, but did track everything. 92 sleep score according to fitbit. I did go to be later again. Just a bit after midnight. got in 8 hours though So far, so good. I am feeling better about getting up and getting stuff done. Blood sugars are still higher, but better then they were when I was drinking the other stuff.
  13. Walk this morning got me a whole lot of nothing for Pokemon haha Tracking food went well. A little bit of guess work, but I think pretty close. Bed time I was late, and read a little late as well. So I was off to bed after midnight. Fitbit says I went to sleep at 12:22am. 88 sleep score and I felt pretty decent this morning. Will try harder to hit the time when I want to sleep. See if I can get that 90+ sleep score haha.
  14. Hopefully, Monday is treating you well! I tried looking up stuff for your sink to, but everything kept mentioning stuff in the drains. Maybe your latest cleaning gets rid of it
  15. Hey Rookie, following along! I really like the idea of side quests. Maybe, I'll had to add those to future challenges Super hot weather is no fun. Makes me try to squeeze in everything I can in the mornings or night haha.
  16. I did get early access to a new feature in Pokemon GO. Routes was sent out to some. I tried to make it today, but messed up haha. So maybe tomorrow I will get it to work right. Today I did get out and walked this morning. Walked out around the block here. Nothing too exciting on the Daily Incense I'm currently reading The Wheel of Time series. On book #6 Lord of Chaos. I'll be doing my best to get to reading at 10:30 tonight. Sometimes just an hour doesn't seem enough though haha.
  17. Hey all, it's been a bit. Seems like something is always coming up when I think of starting up a challenge post. I'm late to this challenge, but I figured I would start something anyway. Better that, then thinking I'll just wait till the next one The last couple of weeks, I have been trying to get a little more consistent with a few things like sleep. This challenge I might start off smaller and add to it as I progress. We'll see how it goes. I feel like I'll be keeping it pretty casual. A driving force to me really needing to get myself going. High blood sugar tests. Even on medicine. So I need to get this fixed. Then just in general more family deaths, has made me look back to watching to just be able to live a much better life. Also, things may change some because my wife is getting a knee replacement on the 14th. So bowling and pretty much everything else I do is on pause to help take care of her. I hope to be able to get some things going around that I can continue during this time too. So let's get to it. Goal#1 - If I am too tired, I won't do squat Sleep is so very important. I've been working on it again, but I certainly have had the go to bed at 2am+ too often. I just haven't been getting the best sleep. Losing weight will also help get better sleep. So it will all work together. It's summer, so I don't have to worry about taking the kid to school till sometime in August. I have been enjoying my reading as well, even when I go too late at night haha. My wife also bought a sleep mask for me to help with the light Though it is a pain to have a sleep mask and cpap mask on. Off to read at 10:30pm Off to bed at 11:30pm Goal#2 - Movement For the moment, I want to start off with 15 minutes walk. Hopefully I can still do this while taking care of my wife too. For now, I can start the daily incense in Pokemon Go. It's 15 minutes. Walking around my block takes about 13 minutes or so. That is pretty much what I want as my start. Eventualyl either making more time per walk or adding in a second walk later on. Maybe after a week or so I can also start doing some home workouts in. I know I would be able to have that going while I was helping my wife. First though, I want to try to get walking going. Plus getting back to walking will help improve my mood too 15 minute walk each day. Goal#3 - Tracking foods Part of finding out my blood sugar numbers were really bad, was I looked closer to what I have been eating and drinking. Obviously, I knew getting and eating candy or sweets can be bad. I found I was drinking a powered drink mix thinking it was ok. It had maltitol as a sweetener, and that was spiking my numbers a lot. I was drinking a lot of it too haha. At least I figured that out, and took it out. With the blood sugar numbers, I also considered jumping back to keto. Then thinking maybe more keto with fruit or something. First though, I am going to give a shot at losing weight with tracking calories. Lower calorie higher volume is more what I want. More proteins, more veg and fruit etc. Track food intake each day in Cronometer That will be enough. There is plenty more I want to add in, but I want to just focus getting more consistent in each of these errors. No grading really.
  18. oh that sucks to lose game saves I wish I could get a new phone by saying google maps isn't working right haha. I did one time forget to take off the avoid highways on it once. I sat there for a minute thinking "Whthe hell is it not saying to take the highway? Is there an accident or something" It was late coming home from bowling. Finally I checked the settings and saw I had that checked haha. I check it sometimes at home to see different routes, but I guess I forgot to turn it off
  19. Pretty much the same. I've been very tired. Tonight, I shall get to bed at the time I want! I have been thinking a lot about what isn't working. Like maybe I need to focus on getting my computer area cleaned up and setup better to get me reminded of my goals and such. I am still having a problem of partial tracking a bit the last couple of days. It's always happening in those later hours when I should already be in bed. Even more reason to get to sleep on time. This week I did do ok for bowling. Actually subbed for my friends team one night too. So back to back bowling Wednesday and Thursday. I don't know if I over strained my leg, but randomly I have some leg pain. Not so much hurting when I move. Almost feels like a bruise, but it's on the inner thigh and outer thigh. Very weird. Will see how it feels when I bowl this week haha. It didn't hurt to walk around in the stores yesterday. Wife and I were looking at some cookbooks. We got one for our youngest too to see if we can get him interested in picking out something. We would like to meal prep some food to help with not eating fast food so much. No other real progress though. I did start reading the wheel of time series. So I need to pick it back up this week. Tonight even!
  20. Yeah, since around Christmas. It was like 3 weeks of pretty decent raid for my area in California. Then there was really bad winter storms in midwest and east coast areas. Seems good now, but so many landslide around that a few roads will still be shutdown for a bit.
  21. Good luck on getting the new microwave, also finding ways to not murder
  22. My wife and youngest son's glasses just came in. They just have to go over for final fittings. My exam didn't change, so I didn't update. I was the cheap date for $10 haha Lots of talk about reading power, so when I do eventually get new glasses, they might be the new progressive types
  23. Meh haha Ok, so first few weeks and not a lot of progress happening. Storming and such kept me inside mostly. 100% not any reason I couldn't walk around the apartment, or even walk in the rain, or to the little gym in our complex. For the most part though, I have been good about tracking food, and testing my blood sugar levels. Even reading before sleep. Unfortunately, not so much in the times I was aiming for. I also have really calorie restricted at all, just tried tracking everything I eat, and it has been a lot. This last week I had a few partial tracking days, then I wrote in the notes about going off rails and trying to list what I ate at least. This last week I was going to get posting more, and trying to get to doing more things, then wound up sick. Still sick today, but I did go out and walk. I did 40 minutes of walking this morning. Totally too much at once. I made it, but I am super tired haha. I think I will get in 15 minutes instead. Overall, fail challenge, even though, I am doing better then I was before Oh, had a doctors appointment with my new Doc. We changed insurance, so that meant to doctor. Seems like a pretty cool guy. Did harp on me being fat, it was all just about getting whatever I needed to get blood sugars under control and such. A side note. I had been on Rybelsus for a couple of months. 3mg, then 7mg the next month. I did not like it at all. It's basically the pill for of ozempic. It didn't keep me from eating, because my brain will get me to eat if I am hungry or not haha. It made me feel super bloated, I would have sulfur burps, and it felt like my stomach was a pool of acid when I tried to sleep. IO never had heartburn before, but I started downing tums and pepto bismol. Not to mention the fun gurgle gut. I did have one other problem. You take it in the morning 30 minutes to an hour before any other medication, food, or drink. On the weekends, I would take it, then go shopping with the wife. First place I would feel ok, but then it would just hit. I started breathing harder, would feel really fatigued, and it felt like I was sick. Not throw up sick, but something was wrong. That happened multiple times. When we switched insurance, and I didn't think the new one be available in time. So I stopped taking it. The new doctor asked me about it, and I explained everything to him. I didn't feel like it helped me at all. I also don't think it actually helped my blood sugar either, because my numbers actually started going down after I stopped taking it haha. So more or less, that's what has been happening. Not as much mental hurdles as I was having week 1. Some stuff still there, but I'll deal with it. I am tired of being on so much medicine now. I just need to use that for added motivation to get shit moving.
