  1. Wife's been sick, so I've stayed home the past two mornings so she could sleep in. That's a good idea. I'm going to try to sneak in some lifting this afternoon and if I still have problems I'll start bridging.
  2. ãã®æœ¬ã¯ã€€ä½•ã§ã™ã‹ã€‚
  3. My vocabulary has disappeared. Hopefully it comes back quickly.
  4. I tweaked my back cleaning the garage yesterday. It doesn't hurt until I got under the bar. Every warm-up rep hurt worse than the last; so, I stopped. I'll try again on Wednesday.
  5. That's great. I'm sure it will work with any line of questioning as well. But, it might get real awkward real fast.
  6. Good? Who said anything about good? I just hope I can get to the "not embarrassing" stage.
  7. Fuck Yeah! I felt strong today. I wish I had more time. Squat: 45x5, 135x5, 165x3, 185x2, 195x5x3 I wanted to do more but I needed to save time for deadlifts. I'm amazed at how much stronger I felt with the right neck angle. Who knew something so small would have a huge impact Bench: 45x5, 75x5, 95x3, 115x5, 125x5x3 Powered through. Form was a bit off at the end but the weight was lifted. Deadlift: 135x5, 205x5 Yeah, Haven't done these in at least 2 weeks. It shows.
  8. Greetings from the Monks. Here's the Monk's Courtyard thread where we all hang out: http://rebellion.ner...al-chat-thread/ Man, I wish I could finish a book in a week. I'm lucky to have enough time to finish one in two months. Also Jupiter's Travels look epic. I've seen Long Way Around, and have added that book to my list. I would love to travel around the world on a motorcycle (my wife thinks I crazy for this). Great job on the first two days and good luck.
  9. It looks like we have another boxer: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/49423-archaeos-first-battle/
  10. I've known how to "swim" since I was a kid. Currently, my swimming consists of a lot of splashing, a lot of noise, and not much forward progress. I hoping my technique will improve with more practice.
  11. I'm hoping so; but after 3 years of wearing boots it feels a little weird. --- Swimming: 3x100m 5x50m That last 50m was brutal, sucked in way to much water.
  12. That's my last purchase before I start upgrading. Good choice, I like the sliding miter saws. But word of advise: don't trust the laser too much.
  13. Welcome. Cheechoe has said many great things about you. Awesome goals. I've spent many a night wanting to build a mini ninja warrior course. If I ever get started, my first obstacle will be the salmon ladder. What table saw are you looking to get? I've had a cheap one for a while, but I need to think about upgrading.
  14. It wasn't supposed to be, but it does sound awfully close to one. --- I think I need to change the stretching goal to stretch on workout days instead of off-day. Today my hips were super tight from last nights stretching. I had to back off the weight because my hips were screaming at me and I couldn't hit parallel. Squat: 45x5, 95x5, 135x5, 165x3, 185x4, 195x5 (questionable form), 155x5x2. Driving to the gym I somehow pulled a stabilizer muscle in my arm; so, I had to back off the press today as well. Press: 45x5, 75x3, 85x1, 95x3, 85x5x2 And I ran out of time. Not a good day at the gym, but a bad day at the gym is better than not going at all.
  15. ã‚ã‚ŠãŒã¨ã† It's been a while since I've touched Japanese. It didn't sound right; but it was the best I had at the time. But, even when I was studying and talking regularly, I still screwed up the politeness.
  16. Good to be back. --- Slept in today. So, I didn't get to swim today. But, I did sit in the squat position for 5 minutes tonight.
  17. Watashi ga wakarimashita; node anata no nihongo wa warui dewa arimasen I need to go and study, it's taking me way to long to construct sentences. How are you using google translate? Be careful not to let it become a crutch.
  18. Last heavy squat was 190x5x3. Today: Squat: 45x5, 125x5, 165x3, 185x1, 195x3, 135x5x3 (hip started to cramp, so I deloaded) Bench: 45x5, 65x5, 85x3, 115x1, 120x5x3
  19. ã“ã‚“ã«ã¡ã¯ konnichiwa I found the japanese grammar to be much easier than english. Most everything is labeled (topic, subject, object, place markers). But, I would think the grammar and hiragana would be hard to separate.
  20. Your home gym looks very familiar. If the mat was green, I would be really worried that I didn't lock my door ninja-proof my house correctly. Congrats on becoming a guild leader.
  21. Congratulations on becoming a guild leader. I knew it wouldn't be long. Also, http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/49551-nihongo-hanashimasu-ka/. May help with the Japanese goal.
  22. The last couple of challenges haven't gone so well. I think it's the type of goals I've been setting. I don't think do activity X, Y number of days works to motivate me. However, in the downtime between challenges I've found that short goals seem to help. So, this challenge will be different in setup and hopefully outcome. 250 1RM On the last Friday of this challenge, I will load 250# on my back and squat at least once. I'm back to following SS and progress is steady, just not 15# per week steady. BW Squat with heels on ground My ankle and hip mobility is bad (putting it nicely). It's actually keeping me from progressing as quickly as I want to in SS. In the past 4 weeks I've had to take 2 deload days because of hip problems. So, on non-workout days, I'll stay in the squat position for a total of 5 minutes a day, and I've given up the boots as daily footwear this challenge. Swim 1000m I'm going to take my family snorkeling this summer and don't want to be a fish out of water. Currently I can swim just well enough not to drown and I'm hoping this (http://ruthkazez.com/SwimWorkouts/ZeroTo1mile.html) plan will help. I only have two days to devote to swimming; so, I've scaled the final distance back a bit. Keep up There's so much awesomeness on the board that It's hard to keep up; but I'm going to try. Not real sure how to evaluate this, I may just default to "leave one comment a day".
  23. It's a common mistake. No worries. I forgot to mention http://en.kanjiroushi.net/html/page/ is a great website to learn kana and kanji. The latter I need to work on. Also, really jealous of the japan trip; I'll get there, just in the distant future.
  24. I took 3 semesters of Japanese in college but haven't done anything with it after that. I need to start back; so, i'm game. One note: I think you wanted to say gozaimasu (ã”ã–ã„ã¾ã™). gozaimashita (ã”ã–ã„ã¾ã—ãŸ) is formal past tense, meaning someone already did something for you to thank them. I'm not entirely sure but it makes since to me. ã“ã¡ã‚‰ã“ã (kochira koso)
