  1. Finish Walking = 96% Yoga = 78% Moderation = 70% For the lofty goals I set, I'm very happy with the outcome for Walking, satisfied with Yoga (although was hoping to get over 80%), and pretty disappointed with my Moderation. And as I have done in the past, what I was worst in will become the focus of my next challenge! What I learned (or rather reinforced) is that yoga is excellent exercise for me, and I need to keep doing it. So, I will try to do 2-3 hours of yoga per week during the next challenge even though I won't make it a formal goal. Ditto for 3 hours of walking (w/ 30 minutes at least 4 times a week at work) or other exercise per week. I knew this would be tough, and it was, but I'm glad I made things a little tougher this time. Looking forward to the next challenge!

  3. Thanks, Eve! Will be a downer end this time as I've got a bad cold, but still going to finish better than I expected!

  11. Mid-challenge update. Walking is going excellently, yoga is going very good, and diet is going poorly. Diet will definitely be my main, perhaps only, focus next time. I've had a lifelong struggle with eating habits, and breaking old habits is much harder than forming new ones. Breakfast and lunch are usually just fine on most days. It's dinner and the damn evening munchies that always seem to get me.

  14. That is a good idea... I may need to pick up some La Croix--thanks! The best DVD I've found for me is called "Yoga for Inflexible People" by BodyWisdom media. Its got tons of exercises and routines, so it doesn't get redundant. I also cruise the free stuff on Amazon Instant video.

  16. Yoga is awesome! I've picked up a few more DVDs/instant streaming stuff to add variety. Unfortunately I tweaked my back Friday evening (not while doing yoga), so couldn't finish my yoga for the week. The fact that I was depressed about not being able to do yoga says a lot! I picked up some blocks and a strap as well to help with certain exercies. Diet has been VERY rocky, but I expected it would be the biggest hurdle for me. On to Week 3... 20. Heh, I think it's the Druids association with yoga, and yoga's reputation as a "women's exercise." Which is silly, since it was created and taught/practiced mostly by men for centuries, even though today most yoga classes are dominated by women. So yeah, the more dudes the merrier!
  21. Oh...I have no idea what that is...lol
  22. Good goals! That's really great that your husband is on NF too--great support network! Question, your meditation. Are you doing a form of contemplative Christian meditation, or is this is just a more general type?
  23. Looks like you've got a solid set of goals. Maybe I mis-read but did you forget to specify # of times per week of yoga? I'll have to look into this Wai Lana as I have no idea what that is!
  24. Woohoo! More D(ude)ruids!!! Good to see you. You have really well thought out goals. I'm definitely interested in hearing more about your NF leveling program.
  25. Week 1 - Cumulative Progress Walking 180/180min -- Goal Complete! Yoga 181/180min -- Goal Complete! Moderation 16/21 Free Passes 3/3 -- all gone :/ Got all my walking/exercise and Yoga in this week! Moderation is not going as well as I had hoped, and I think it's partly due to my over-restrictive guidelines. I've since found out that I do not have food allergies or sensitivities, so my obsessive avoidance of certain things is not really warranted. That being said, I still want to minimize intake of processed and refined foods, while still being flexible. The most important thing is moderation. I want to be able to eat a wide variety of foods, including some of my favorites. Otherwise it starts taking on the feel of a restrictive "diet," and that never works. Will be revising later today...
