  1. Ain't that the truth. I'd be rocking if this were last challenge where most of my focus was on running.
  2. It's tough to get creaky bones moving in the morning, but early workouts make the rest of the day go so much nicer.
  3. I really enjoy reading about your cave adventures. I'm going to try some version of this with my trail runs next challenge.
  4. Oh, and I had more than just "a snack" last night. Sigh. Moving on... better at least eat breakfast so I can try to build that rock pile back up.
  5. That's a lot of burpees... I'm always self-conscious when I run (which might account for some of why I try to run on trails mostly). I really doubt I could bring myself to do that in public. But it would be cool. Maybe I could psych myself up for it. Too bad I don't drink. This would be the perfect time for some liquid courage.
  6. By "made that sign", I mean "I took a really cool graphic and put some graffiti on it."
  7. How do you do a quarter mile of burpees?
  8. I've been putting them in the squad vs squad challenge the Not-So-Newbie Rangers and the Also-Not-So-Newbie Rangers have been doing. I suppose it would be a good idea to post them here as well. I started doing Strong Lifts during the last challenge, but I only did it twice a week at most, so the weight hasn't gotten very high yet. I've done all three lifting sessions for the week, so I might as well summarize my progress on that goal: (All goal weights assume I stay at 190 pounds) Squats: 100 lbs (Goal: 75% of BW, or 145 lbs) Bench Press: 80 lbs (Goal: 50% of BW, or 95 lbs) Deadlift: 115 lbs (Goal: 100% of BW, or 190 lbs) Rows: 85 lbs (Goal: 50% of BW, or 95 lbs) OH Press: 50 lbs (Goal: 35% of BW, or 70 lbs) Bench press and overhead press are already starting to get difficult. I've never had much upper body strength. Rows are still ok. Squats and deadlifts are going strong.
  9. Got my lifting on this morning and running this evening. DOMS are starting to dwindle away, (They were pretty rough the first couple of days back.) and I didn't walk around wobbly-legged throughout the day. The run was pretty muggy, but an occasional breeze helped. I worked on increasing my pace since I haven't yet gone back to trail running. I may give the trail another shot tomorrow. Diet-wise, I'm still sitting on two rocks a day. I haven't snacked yet today, but it's Friday night. I figure it's going to happen.
  10. I made this sign to keep the dog out of my exercise space. Seems to be working so far...
  11. I think it's fun... Lots of coding in the Android class, but also design philosophy and some stuff regarding navigating the legal quagmire. The other two classes, not so much coding. I specialize in artificial intelligence type stuff, but I usually teach that in the spring.
  12. I know, right? Learn to program + ?????????????? ________________ Profit!
