  1. Sorry I haven't been here in awhile. I just got back from a trip and I have gone completely off my path, so I am heading back to it and I am going to start over with week one. I do have a question for the group though. I have been using Vibram 5 fingers for the last four years, and I am pushing 140lbs over my ideal weight, but still for the most part things have been great. However since I started running my feet have just been killing me and I thought I could push through it but it got to the point where I could barely walk. So I bought a pair of skater shoes, thinner soles than tennis shoes and most of my pain went away. So now I am considering going back to my running shoes, after I dust them off and find them, and sticking with those until my physical self gets more inline with my mental self. Do you think I should just keep pushing through the pain hoping it will work itself out or should I switch to running shoes and then back to vibrams later? I am just looking for an opinion because I am not really sure what I should do at this point. I know the standard answer of consult a professional but I don't trust most professionals.
  2. Thanks for posting the pics. The desk looks nice. I finally finished a bench last challenge, someday when I grow up I might build a desk. Great Job!
  3. Completed W1D3: RunKeeper tracked me at 1.93 miles; 30:31 duration; 15.51 ppmFitBit tracked me at 3862 steps; 20 floors; 1.90 miles Notes: Today was a good run. I am on a red eye Sunday Night/Monday Morning. My flight leaves at 1:30 am and stops moving at 7:45 am so that is going to push me out of my routine. I have never been able to sleep on a plane so hopefully I can get a nap and an afternoon run. If not I may push next week to TRS. How did everyone else do this week? Did you meet your personal goals?
  4. I need to start looking into running a 5k myself, it will be a good bench mark on my progress and if I put it in the middle of the next challenge it will keep me motivated. Let me know how your 5k goes!
  5. It is time for pictures: >insert desk photo here< >insert warhammer photo< What are doing for your main quest?
  6. Have you tried adding in a protein shake to your regiment? The Primal Egg Coffee or even a whey protein shake with a banana blended in will boost your calories and protein consumption. I have read that the primal egg coffee is also good with tea if you prefer it over coffee.
  7. I am sure it is different for everyone but for me Carb Flu was a total lack of energy and I felt like blah for two days, then I started getting my energy back what cravings I had dissipated and I started to feel human again. I wasn't really sick nor and I have ever had withdrawal from drugs or alcohol so I cannot say to those as examples.
  8. Have you tried running barefoot, or with Vibram's five fingers(they are what I use)? I found that they really made me concentrate on how I was walking or running. I also find that I am a lot less clutzy while going "barefoot" rather than in "normal" shoes.
  9. I posted in a lot of places, which makes this a good mini quest for me, I needed the push. Posting in those threads also led me to start a new group C25K - ODAAT ( One Day At A Time), since it seems like almost everyone I posted on is running a couch to 5k program, including me.
  10. I have an iPhone and I use the following apps/websites: RunKeeper tracks my miles, duration, and pace per mile C25K Free tracks my Week and Day as well as gives me cues for when to run and when to walk FitBit tracks the number of floors, for me equals hills, distance, calories Fitocracy helps keep me motivated by tracking my workouts in a progress meter I have completed two days already here are my times: Started C25K W1-D1. - Runkeeper tracked me at: 1.90 miles 35:18 duration 18:35 pace per mile. - Fitbit tracked me at: 3883 Steps, 1.93 miles, 21 floors. C25K W1-D2. - Runkeeper tracked me at 1.78 miles, 31:36 duration, 17:43 pace per mile - Fitbit tracked me at: 3642 steps, 1.79 miles, 19 floors. My schedule is MWF - I am up at 6am so I can get my run in before anyone else shows up at the park..still a little people shy. I will also post notes on my future runs. I am not a fan of their website and think it needs a lot of help but this is where I began my research so I am posting it. http://www.c25k.com/ If anyone else has a better resource please post it, I do love collecting underpants.
  11. C25K - One Day At A Time (ODAAT) Hello All, Stryder here. I decided to start this group because I was reading through the challenges and there are a lot of people starting a C25K or already in the midst of one so I thought a place to get together and keep us motivated and informed would be a good thing. Also I need the socialization practice and I wasn't very active in my last group so I thought this would be a good kick start for me. So for your first post here is what I would like to see: What setup are you using to track your C25K? Have you already completed a couple since this challenge began post those in your first post. What is your schedule? If you are midway through you can post them all or just the ones you have completed since this challenge began I would also like for you to post either after you complete a day or once a week your times and if you missed any days. We cannot help hold you accountable if we don't know you need the help and motivation. So for those check-ins here is what I want to see: Distance Pace Per Mile Which Week and Day you are onPlease feel free to include more information, and tell us how things are going for you, how this day compared to the last one, if you got any extra miles in on your *rest* day and how that affected your workout etc. If you come across any useful information or links please post them.
  12. Your challenge this round sounds a lot like mine. How is your C25K going? You might also try Fitocracy to track your excercises, I just joined up this challenge also so feel free to friend me on there if you decide to sign up.
  13. How is your C25K going? I started mine this challenge and just completed W1D2, I couldn't imagine starting at week three. Have you started the C25K before? Good luck with your quest.
  14. How is your C25K going? I just finished up W1D2 today, started it this challenge also. The iPhone app really helps with keeping my timing accurate.
  15. First I have seen of the Path to as well, thanks for the links. Can you post a link to the tattoo you are going to get. I am always looking for my next piece of body art. Good luck with your quest, started getting up at 6 am this challenge and that is a challenge unto itself.
