  1. This^. I was that dude in the locker room with headphones on, sitting in front of my locker half asleep until time to run onto the field...
  2. Yup, it doesn't seem to help. I am explicitly following threads I want to keep up with, but it still gets dropped...
  3. Ah yes, I didn't mean to imply an easy admin fix. Rather a bug fix from the forum developers. Good info though.... and still frustrating :/
  4. Confirmed. The post in question appears to have disappeared at exactly the 1 week mark. Even though I have the activity stream settings set properly. Seems like this would be an easy fix...
  5. Definitely not fixed. Even things i am explicitly following is getting dropped. I saw it happen today. It was there this AM and then gone now. Last post was maybe a week ago? I wonder if it is time based... Oh well, these issues will probably frustrate and push me away again.
  6. Just going to chime in. These issues are exactly why I stopped foruming. I am trying hard to get back into it, but it doesn't seem much better even now...
  7. Thanks Oh, I never took any offense! I am very confident in the way I handle my finances. Could I make some of my money work better for me? Sure. But what I do not suffer from is paralysis by analysis! Admittedly, my net worth growth may taper a bit after I pay off my mortgage because I plan to loosen the budget up for nice vacations and life experiences. Hopefully the stock and real estate markets will make for it And yes. I see many people living well outside their means. It can be tough resisting the urge to "keep up with the Joneses", but so far so good!
  8. Closer than most 33 yr olds I know Current trend should have my net worth over the $1M mark when I am around 40 yrs old.
  9. The only book I have read on this subject is this one... https://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Millionaire-Powerful-One-Step-Finish/dp/0767923820 It is fairly basic, but I liked it. I read it about 10 years ago.
  10. 100% agree. I know how the change my oil, but choose not too. Money well spent...
  11. By not investing that money, I may be leaving a thousand or so on the table each year. I am ok with that for now. My number one goal right now is to be 100% debt free. My only debt right now is a mortgage on my primary residence / farm, and a mortgage on my investment property. Both of which should be paid off in 3-4 years. I tend to do automatic / hands off approach to wealth building. Max out 401k, set everything up on auto pay (including triple mortgage payments), and make sure $ inflow > $ outflow on average. That's it. Once I am debt free, I will certainly re-evaluate how active I am in managing investments. For now I will KISS.
  12. True story. I also maintain funds to repair my rental property if needed. It is going on 12 years old so... Umm 2008 maybe? Obviously, its all about risk/reward. I've maxed out my 401k contributions since I was 21 into 90% stock 10% bond target retirement fund (0.038% expense ratio). But for short-ish term stuff I avoid the market for the most part (unless you count land/real estate). ^THIS. This is why I maintain a large emergency fund.
  13. I have about a year of living expenses in savings. Ooops
  14. What is this moving thing? Is it something people actually do? I can't even imagine moving at this point...
  15. Thread resurrection!!!! Yeah, the forum changes pushed me away for sure. Trying to work my way back in though...
  16. *pretends I read your entire thread* Following for more awesomeness
  17. Glad to see I'm not the only one resurrecting a battle log. Welcome back.
  18. And here comes the once in a blue moon post from wovercast.... Well done so far.
  19. I like this challenge. Its simple, to the point, no extra fluff. I think you can manage this one.
  20. Well done sir! Luckily in TN, there is some cover. I've ventured off path to relieve myself on a run a few times...
  21. What?! Maybe you should jump in there and show them an E and a G
