  1. Awesome. I spent a month in Slovenia (and visited Austria, Italy, and Croatia) last summer. So I have some good insight as to what to do in in Slovenia...
  2. I have to say... this. is. awesome. I love Futurama (hell I almost got a Nibbler tattoo). Nice goals and good luck!
  3. Ready for my 2nd 6WC...

  4. Good catch on the spreadsheet link. I had it wrong in my travelling group as well. And here is my thread...
  5. Maybe I should join in case my travelling group doesnt get many people Oh and did you see this update on the role playing FAQ? Looks like we got in just in time... Assigning Attribute Points To Goals*note: this is completely optional and just for fun. It is not a required part of the 6 week challenge. You start out with 0 attribute points - you do NOT start out with 15 any more. After you have reached Level 2, you have the potential of obtaining 15 attribute points per challenge. These will be split up between your goals.
  6. Congrats to all the newbie Rangers who made it to the end. I enjoyed working with you guys. I created a group for the upcoming 6WC for Rangers trying to get fit or stay fit while away from home. Hope to see some of you there...
  7. Mornin' Mac. Just wanted to let you know the travelling acountibilibudy group is up. Hope to see you there! Also, I can use some help adding the team to google docs since I can't access it on my work computer or phone :/
  8. This group is for Rangers who are trying to get in shape (or stay in shape) while being away from home. I always do my best when I am home and can get into a routine. Unfortunately (fortunately?), I will be travelling for almost all of this 6WC. Do you travel? Let's team up and provide encouragement to keep everyone motivated even when on the road. Instructions: 1) Add your name to the Roamin' Rangers roster. It can be found on the Rangers tab on this spreadsheet 2) Introduce yourself and link us to your 6 week challenge. Here is mine. 3) Subsrcibe to the other members' threads. 3) Work hard, work together, stay focused. See you on the road... Members wovercast direrael P.S. You are welcome to join even if you aren't travelling during this 6WC...
  9. Shirt looks good! And congrats on the deadlift milestone.
  10. Goal 1 – Weight Loss: Once upon a time, I lost 100+ lbs. I have since gained about 35 of it back. So for this six week challenge I want to lose 2 lbs per week . Seems doable since I am a pretty big guy. Start: 275 lbs 277.0 (official weigh in on 6/3) Goal: 263 lbs 265.0 (based on official weigh in) Scoring: >12 lbs = A(100%), 10-11.9 lbs = B(90%), 8-9.9 lbs = C(80%), 4-7.9 lbs = D(50%), <4 lbs = F(0%) Attributes: +2 STA, +1 CON, +1 CHA Results: I gained 4 lbs! Frustrating, but I learned alot. Grade: F Goal 2 – Pushups: I plan to start with 4x15 (3x a week) and add 1 rep to each set each week. If my math is correct, I will complete 1260 pushups after 6 weeks. Goal: 1260 Pushups Scoring: >1260 pushups = A, 1200-1259 = B, 1100-1199 = C, 800-1099 = D, <800 = F Attributes : +3 STR, +1 CON Results: Nailed it. I did all prescribed pushups. And can definitely feel the benefits. Grade: A Goal 3 – Legs: I have never focused on leg strength. My goal is to do at least 2 leg workouts a week. In order for it to count it must contain at a minimum squats and deadlifts. I have not decided on a plan yet, but will take a close look at SL5x5. I would like to meet the Spartan Warrior Benchmarks for squats and deadlifts (Squat bodyweight 10x and deadlift 1.5 x bodyweight 5x), but my goals will be based only on getting my workouts in. Goal: 12 leg workouts Scoring: >12 workouts = A, 10-11 = B, 8-9 = C, 6-7 = D, <6 = F Attributes: +3 STR, +1 STA Result: I did all 12 leg workouts. I ended up deadlifting 315lbs 5x and squating 185lbs 5x in my last workout. Considering I had done neither in over 10 years, I will take it. Grade: A Goal 4 – Diet: I eat OK for the most part. I drink plenty of water, eat decent food etc. I have identified two deficiencies that really up my calorie intake. The first is potato chips (and tortilla chips). I freaking love chips. I could destroy a whole bag in one sitting. Also, snacking after dinner. I eat too much junk between 7-10pm. So my goal is to eliminate chips and eating after 7pm. My 30th birthday is coming up during this challenge, so I get 2 cheats (probably both taken up by eating chips, and eating after 7pm in the same night) Goal: No chips (potato or corn) and no food after 7pm Scoring: <3 cheats = A, 3-4 = B, 5-6 = C, 7-8 = D, >8 = F Attributes: +3 CON Results: This was a tough one, but I managed. I cheated 4 times (all related to my birthday and the 4th of July). This goal also left big loopholes that prevented my weight loss. But it did help form some good habits I can carry forward. Grade: B Potential Attribute Points Summary: +6 STR, +3 STA, +5 CON, +1 CHA Earned Attribute Points: +6 STR, +1 STA, +3.7 CON I am definitely looking forward to the next 6 week challenge. I really learned alot in my first one and can't wait to see how my next one goes.
  11. Looks like you did well this challenge. See you in the travelling group next time! I will already be gone before the challenge starts, so I hope I can find some decent internet.
  12. I am the same way. The first mile always feels like hell for me. Then its smooth sailing for 6 or so miles. At least back when I was actually running. I have been off the wagon for about a year. Next 6WC will have me running again!
  13. I just turned 30 years old. I have a pretty good knowledge of science, computers, etc. But I have always lacked knowledge when it comes to engines. I do know how to change the oil/fluids etc, but when it came to actually doing something with the engine itself, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole. The other day at a yard sale I came across what appeared to be a brand new 5500 watt generator. It had gas, so I tried to start it, but it wouldnt fire up. The guy selling it said he did not use it very much and that he hadn't started it in 2 years. I figured it just needed some fresh gas, a shot of starter fluid, and maybe a spark plug so I offered half of his already low asking price assuming he wouldn't take it. Well he took it. I got home, drained the tank, added fresh gas, replaced the plug, and PULLED. Then I pulled some more, and then some more. Nothing. Gave it a shot of starter fluid, it would run for a second and die. Well crap. I thought about cutting my losses and selling it for what I paid for it, but decided to try to fix it myself. I decided it had to be the carburetor since it wasn't getting fuel. I carefully removed it, and took it apart on my work bench. It looked very clean, but there is was... One tiny little hole the size of a pin point was clogged. I blew it out with my air compressor, put it all back together and gave it another pull... It fired up and ran on the first pull (WOOT)! I was so excited about it. This was my first time taking a carburetor apart, but won't be my last. I see a leaf blower in my garage that needs my new found knowledge applied to it... PS I just sold the generator for 3x what I paid for it
  14. Welcome! Good luck in the upcoming challenge. Oh, and I really felt like a nerd when I thought to myself, "She misspelled LAN party" Wait a minute, did you misspell LAN party??
  15. July 29 according to the Challenge FAQ.
  16. Good job. I hear you on the disappearing folks. Glad you stuck with it until the end. As we do more challenges, we should be able to see who sticks with it, and who doesn't. I am lready looking forward to the next challenge...
  17. Hopefully it shows up soon. It's supposed to be a required post to be eligible to win the challenge.
  18. That is awesome. You killed this challenge. And of course you can do half points! I got a 2.7 this challenge haha. Well done. Looking forward to seeing what you acomplish at the next challenge.
  19. Well done! We made it to the end. I am glad you stuck with it even if you didnt feel you were hitting all the goals. Best of luck in the next challenge...
  20. Ditto, I was hoping for more as well. It looks like rangers have more members than any other guild (except Adventurers)...
