  1. Nostalgia incoming in 3...2...1.... https://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/29593-newbie-rangers/ https://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/33388-not-so-newbie-rangers/ https://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/33848-not-so-newbie-ranger-squad-vs-squad-battle-royale-june-29-september-8/ 5 years ago!
  2. Looks like you'll find your rhythm in no time My lower back kills me if I stand for more than like 30 minutes. But I can walk / run forever. Last month I did a Tough Mudder (11 miles) and my back felt great the whole time. Is that the case for you? Standing hurts more than moving?
  3. Yup, 2024. Surely you have an excuse to come to my area sooner than that!
  4. There is a very good chance I will be in Dallas for the solar eclipse....
  5. I'm not bitter at all. I am totally ok with NF not doing camp again. Totally. OK.
  6. We'll have to get together again at the next CAMP... Oh wait...
  7. Nice 1st challenge. You're setup for success. I remember from your intro post that you want more independence. How are you working toward that? Do you want to learn to drive? Or work toward moving to a city with public transport??
  8. You should def play Borderlands. Brick is my spirit animal...
  9. The other day I saw a neighbor walking along the road and I stopped to talk. I started with "Whatcha know good?" in a very southern (even for me) accent. He had no clue. I had to translate to "How are you?"
  10. I am with @Rooks on this. The forum bugs have really pushed me away. I've been trying to make a comeback, but it just isn't sticking since the bugs are still around... 1) Whenever I post in a thread I am following using Tapatalk, it unfollows me for some reason. When I use the website, I have to relocate the thread and refollow it every time. 2) There does not seem to be a good way to reliably follow threads. They seem to get dropped randomly from the "Content I Follow" page. One trend I've noticed is that it gets dropped after 7 days of inactivity, which is not desirable at all. Old related posts below...
  11. I highly recommend reading this article... http://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/training/tips-and-general-info/damper-setting-101 And this one... http://ifailedfran.com/why-you-shouldnt-set-your-rower-to-10/ I typically row at a DF of 125 which corresponds to damper setting between 3-6 on most rowers I've used. My stroke rate is usually 20-22 for most training. It goes up to ~30 for 2k time trials or intervals. Hope that helps!
  12. I'm here for the 2k row PR. Please tag me when you post your result. For the record my PR is 6:55.3 Good luck!
  13. I like that. Maybe if I call it that, my wife and I will be more likely to do it! As far as the healthcare / bc issues. I have no advice, but I will say I'm sorry to hear the issues your having. Hopefully they get you taken care of asap.
  14. Who hi-jacked it from @miss_marissa, who hi-jacked from you apparently? Ugh, I am definitely in the hurt back club too. I don't see myself DLing or squatting big weights any time soon. Good luck sorting it all out!
  15. A good idea for who? It was a great idea for the companies' bottom line. Pensions are an unknown cost to employers since they have no clue how long retirees will live. Simply matching a 401k contribution is more predictable and shifts the financial responsibility from the employer to the employee. Does that mean retirees are better off? Hell no. So many people live beyond their means and don't bother to save for retirement. Some don't even save enough to get employers match, missing out on thousands of dollars in free money...
  16. You know I'm from the South, and I've never seen this before. And hope I never do again
