  1. I've had a terrible year. I'm now ~50lbs away from my goal weight. I need help getting back into it.

  2. Could you please help me with that? I have no support from friends or family, and I don't know how to ask for it or what I need. I wing it because I don't know what else to do or how to deal with extinction bursts. Elaborate on what you mean? I want this more than anything for myself, I just can't go on being so unhealthy and unhappy...
  3. Treating eating carbs like an addiction --- It pretty much IS an addiction at this point. Food addiction exists...and I'm fighting it best I can. I emotional eat. I bored eat. I'm trying to fix the psychological side of things too. I'm working with a therapist for that though, so it's covered I'm pretty much expecting a LOT of withdrawal symptoms, but to have to suffer through it with (hopefully) some support. Reading your blog on weight loss though...that gave me hope. You said that weight loss isn't actually hard...what's hard is getting through the initial steps of changing habits, seeing results, and being comfortable that the changes are working, so the plan becomes more of a second nature. I've never thought about it that way, because I've never made it through the initial steps. The best is yet to come when you've just pushed through the hardest part of the pain. This time I'm going to try to hold on a little longer. I just need support... Today, I'm trying to go all out Paleo. It's good so far, but it's also only 10am here. It would be the first day without any sugar in...ever. I also thought of something during class that I have to consider. A diet isn't forever - it's training your body for a healthier lifestyle. And right now, my body and mind can't handle sugar, so I can't have it yet. I have to go back to the basics of what is healthy for me and then build back up to treating myself every once in a while, once I can control myself around sugar and carbs. But I haven't earned those privileges just yet.
  4. Okay so the problem is I've tried cold turkey too many times and failed...I live in a college dorm on a meal plan, and my tiny 100lb roommate has the junkiest food ever. So just...power through it and expect the cravings to suck, just like any addiction withdrawl?
  5. Long story short, one of the main reasons for my failure in weight loss is my addiction to sugar and carbs, as well as my inability to control myself around them. I can eat two pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and a Chicken Express meal without flinching. I've gained about 15lbs, and it's beginning to seriously have an effect on my health. How do I stay primarily Paleolithic/ transfer to a Paleo diet while kicking the sugar? I was able to once before, but more by force. I have terrible self control. I don't know what to do at this point. And suggestions/advice from those who have been there?

  11. Well, I think I have a pretty brilliant breakfast. Two eggs, banana, some hot tea, and water. Sometimes I'll throw in two Canadian bacon or bacon pieces for added protein. I bored eat.
  12. I need some support. None if my friends talk to me or text me, and none of my family even really cares about my goal to bother supporting it. Anyone up for being my accountability buddy?
