  1. Congrats on the job well do so far! Just give the vending machines a wide berth as you walk by. Smart idea on bringing your own snacks!
  2. Sounds like a good goal set and great work on paying off the tuition! How did Sunday go?
  3. Sounds like an awesome and tiring (in a good way) weekend. You're totally covered in regarding to your workouts too. How was your sleeping pattern while at camp? Good to see you in better spirits now and with a good plan for the week
  4. Congrats on the 18miles. I know said you wanted more of it to be running, but that is an awesome start! And with the water goal, I have gotten into the habit of bringing a couple water bottles with me to most events at friend's houses which has helped keep up my water intake. Good luck on Week 2!
  5. Awesome work, especially on smashing the elevation goal! Keep up the great work. What kind of writing project are you working on?
  6. Dinner sounds tasty haha. And sounds like you did very well for a rainy day. And I think furniture lifting/moving definitely counts Keep up the good work!
  7. Sorry to hear you have been feeling down. Hopefully being with the kids at adventure camp will brighten your weekend and get your ready to come back strong next week. And I hear you one getting down if things do not start right...I've learned to just drop the not stellar beginning and restart it in my head. Just think of the name of your Accountabilibuddies group Super glad to hear that people's support on here has helped. We're all here to support each other, and I'll be rooting for you! Have fun this weekend
  8. I liked watching him as a character on the show, he had interesting story arcs, was fun to watch being good or bad. And the finale...the whole, "You know, I know about farming" line gets me every time .
  9. Very cool goals, and I like the ultimate goal! A couple of friends are using some sort of an apocalypse as their inspiration. As for the snacks, my office has the same problem. Any chance you can convince them to have some healthy alternatives like fruit, baby carrots, or some of the good granola bars? When my office started offering fruit, that was the only snack I would allow myself haha Also, what book were you excited about?
  10. Welcome back! Great new goals as well! I think a lot of people are having a bit more fun with their challenges this time round. For the 100 mile goal, are you tracking your normal walking say around the house or out and about? It might not be 2 miles, but you would have a good fraction to start with I dig the climbing goal. I am also focusing my weight training for pull ups and been trying to find some good upper body exercises - so far the NF How to do a pull up seems like a good start: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/04/25/do-a-pull-up/. If I find anything else, I will share the knowledge. Very cool idea on the life goal. I'm sure that now you back at NF, you'll have plenty of practice of accepting compliments Best of luck and I look forward to your updates!
  11. I think adding a sea monster quest in preparation for an End of the World scenario is very smart in a post Sharknado world. Gotta be prepared and look good at the same time Great goals and presentation! Can we expect themed updates as well?
  12. Welcome back and good luck on your goals! Everything above sounds like very sound advice. Maybe the savings on cutting off the soda will help pay for better food? I cut off sweeted ice tea drinks and the unsweeted ones that had sodium in there to either just water or pure ice tea drinks and I have saved some cash there which is now being used for fresh produce and better cuts of meat. One thing I have done to help with keeping active is taking the long, less direct route when out and about. Also, taking stairs anytime I could have taken elevator or escalator...and even on the stairs going up them quickly instead of normal pace. As for the dating thing, getting back out there is a good idea once you are ready for it, even if just for the experience and hopefully confidence booster. I had and am still dealing with getting over someone, and I found when I was ready and started trying to date again, I cared about more what I looked like and eating/working out habits, so I was able to loose some of the additional weight gained when I using eating as a coping mechanism for being depressed. And I agree with lamatt122, you'll find someone! For creating a hyperlink, type out what the word(s) you want to show, highlight it, then select the "Link" icon above - looks like a chain link with a green/white plus symbol. Copy and paste your URL address and hit OK. BAM - handy dandy hyper link
  13. I admire your motivation about being a doctor that preaches what they practice Good luck on your goals, especially the sleep pattern one! How does the special lamp work?
  14. Glad to hear everything is on the mend and good luck with your quest. All awesome goals, and I applaud your choice to do away with cable! I really dig the RGP/FF elements too. It all looks good, but have you determined your Motivation?
  15. As soon as I saw Ninja Warrior, I was like "This will be a thread a follow!" Very smart to put a good upper body strength goal in there as that seems to one, if not THE, more important aspect of challenges. I look forward to seeing your progress!
  16. I think sometimes having these "unsuccessful" weeks are great inspirations and motivation for us to work harder. And it shows true commitment because it would be easy to continue down that road once it already happens...but fighting back and rising up shows that your heart is in it! Keep moving forward
  17. Keeping with the theme of your group (a name that I am pretty sure I coined haha) and since there is no way my typing can compete with the advice of our dear friend Alfred Pennyworth (which even works doubly with why you want to do a pull up!) Great work on everything else!
  18. Glad to be of service. I wouldn't worry about 1 and 2...like Tateman said it was a hectic schedule and did well. And you have a plan for this week, which is awesome. As for exercise, maybe a few minutes in the mornings and evenings might help add time... I am a believer in that sometimes you need to live a litter and make it up later (had my own little issue with that Sun and Mon somewhat) Keep up the good work!
  19. Sounds like you have been doing well with your goals. I might have to use the Italian 'chili' as well haha. So you're a fellow accountant, awesome! I've in accounting, tax accounting to be specific, for about 8 years now - so if there is any advice/help I can give, just let me know.
  20. Great work on the goals...especially pushing through the pain/sore muscles to get that Z5K workout in! I've been told that drinking a fair amount of water, stretching right after, and potassium are good ways to prevent being too sore after a workout. What kind of writing are you doing?
  21. I dig the revised Goal #3. I think you can be ok with the fried foods...if eating out (depending on the restaurant, they should have a grilled option say for fish or chicken. Good job on the other goals as well! I know you had that 15min thing earlier, but besides that is the no snooze thing getting easier? Cool to see the shoulder being back in a happy mood!
  22. Awesome, very proud of you for making it 11 days in a row and catching yourself on the last one! Good work! How much is the "big girl dumb bell"?
  23. I hear you on the late night snacking...I learned not to buy much in the way of snacks. Something simple like baby carrots or peanut butter (the good all natural stuff) which is a nice way to get some extra protein. Sorry to hear about the kayaking job, but least you have a fun story haha. How much of a hike is Mt. Washington?
  24. Awesome work! I would say you get at a B on working out 3 times a week goal since you went for that walk Congrats on the no chips/fries. As for the blogging, they say it takes about 6 days to create a habit, so if you stick to picking a set time to do the goal for about a week, should be easier to do in the future.
