  1. Thanks for the shout out Steve. I'm guessing my fiancé set that one up Had my last chemo session yesterday. It's been 6 long months but I got through it. Now I can't wait to get back the fitness I lost. I've been going for walks to get some fresh air and exercise but anything more would tire me out. Anyone have tips on where I should start after being out for so long? I was thinking of starting with the beginner part in RSG and getting back on my bike. I was doing Kung Fu before but I'd like to get my strength back before going back. Nia
  2. It's about a mile to work so not too far. Only downside is the way back is uphill, wish it was downhill on the way back. I've not updated this in a while as I've not been able to train. I got some bad news from the hospital and had an operation last tuesday which I've been recovering from. I'll be alright, just can't do much with my right arm while I wait for my shoulder to heal. Trying to go out for walks so I can at least do something and get some exercise . Will have to get my kung fu teacher to teach me to fight one handed so next time it happens I'm prepared. I'll have to get better fast and win the next challenge
  3. Rode my bike to work for the first time on Friday. Was really fun except it chucked it down later and I had to give up on the hill on the way home. My gears were a bit stiff and wet so I couldn't switch to a lower gear. I just ground to a halt on that hill. It will be mine tonight. Gym on Friday too. After my bike ride I thought I'd try to concentrate on learnign some weights and stretching (I'm really inflexible). New record for bench press, 10kg, 2x10. My arms nearly fell off though, Calip had to give me a hand and take them off me when my arms gave in. The weekend was filled mostly with baking cup cakes for Calip for Valentines day, proof reading his essay and doing some extra overtime.
  4. Congrats on the baby. Hope they're not keeping you up too much.
  5. Went to the gym last night and tried them for the first time. It was good, I like them a lot more than using the machines. Feels like you're doing it properly. I tried to see how I'd do with the bench press skill (we only have dumbells though). I managed 2 sets of 10 with 8kg so I've got a little way to go. I used to be a bit scared of them, I'm pretty clumsy, so I wanted to make sure I did it correctly. Can definatly lift more next time. My bike also came on Tuesday but it's not stopped raining so I've not ridden it yet. I'm planning on riding in tomorrow if it's not as nasty as today. Calip and I cleared out our shed at the weekend as well. The landlord left a load of rubbish in it that needed getting rid of. Still have some other stuff to tidy and get rid of then we can plan out the veg box Calip is going to build me (we just have patio and the soil underneath is terrible anyway so we're building a box to grow the veg in).
  6. That fence climbing looks so cool. Looks like you're doing well on your goals so far. Keep going
  7. 1.5 hours of kung fu last night. Arms were a bit sore when I went to the gym today. Hour at the gym today. Got my standard plank time up to 43 seconds, rank 2 will soon be mine. Going to try and learn to use freeweights next week if I get some free time to read up. I really wanted to yell at the woman who decided it's ok to cough on EVERYTHING! Some people are just nasty. I was hoping to get some of the garden sorted out this weekend but I've been offered some overtime at work to help a project that's running behind. I could use the extra cash.
  8. Looks like you're doing well. Good luck in the tournament later. I'm new to all this so can I ask what the numbers mean? Is it something like weight x reps?
  9. Thinking of growing some carrots, peas, tomatoes (mine met a horrible death last year), onions and stawberries. I'll probably spot some other seeds that look interesting while I'm out. I'm also hoping to plant a little herb garden if I can. I've already got some garlic growing at the moment that I planted at the end of last year and a half dead chilli plant that I'll try and bring back to life. The frost came in before I could get it a green house. Also need to find a good way of getting rid of the snails here. They destroyed my peas last year, nasty things.

  11. Got to the gym today but had to leave a little early to take care of Calip. Increased my standard plank time to 41 seconds. Working my way up to rank 2 for the monk skill (50 seconds). I also did 10 proper push ups, never been able to do that before. Tomorrow I will get my character sheet sorted out.
  12. Name: Kithis Brief overview of goals: Get to the gym twice a week and kung fu once a week. Ride my bike to work every day (my bike should arrive on the 8th). Keep my character sheet up to date. Sort the garden and decide on the vegetable I'm going to try and grow this year. Class: Monk If you follow a specific way of eating: None. Trying to cut out the junk food but I have a sweet tooth.
