  1. I survived day 2 of the Whole30. Still finding myself lacking energy and I'm not sure if that stems from not sleeping well, not eating enough, or both perhaps? I'm going to go check out the book and see what I should be expecting. Also had a hard time getting out to exercise. It's been so oppressively hot that it's been difficult to run, even in the morning. I still don't tolerate the heat well and it's hard to me to run in the heat. Hopefully things cool down soon so I can get out there and run again.
  2. I successfully managed to finally make it through day 1 of my Whole30 program yesterday. Had eggs, salads, apples, and I and grabbed a few Whole30 approved Larabars for a snack if needed. I also went for a run but had to cut it short because it was way too hot (I don't tolerate the heat well at all), but I did go to the nice air conditioned gym for lifting. Right now I'm struggling with my energy levels. I'm trying to combat my lack of energy with a black & green tea mix (I drink mine straight up with ice because I don't like tea with added crap in it) and I'm hopin
  3. The Loco Half Marathon, which starts and finishes in my hometown (Newmarket, NH). http://locomarathon.com/ I'm also doing a race called Vino and the Beasts in Connecticut in September and a Spartan Sprint at Fenway Park in November. I try not to race in the summer because it's too hot.
  4. I've had a couple of rough days trying to start the Whole30 because a couple of family issues came up. Had to go meet with my dad last night because I was having some concerns about family members who are trying to keep the drama surrounding my brother's wedding going. Basically we're trying to come up with a strategy on how to get everyone together on a united front for my brother. My brother is super sensitive and it's hard to get everybody to support his decision to get married because they don't seem to understand his fiancee. It's really sad because she genuinely means well and isn't a ba
  5. Former Vermonter here (I've since moved back to my home state of New Hampshire). I used to live in Randolph and work both in Montpelier and WRJ.
  6. Hey all, I've signed up for the Spartan Sprint at Fenway Park in Boston on 11/13 but none of my friends who said they were going to signed up ended up signing up for the team so I'd like to open this up to other rebels who might be interested. Link to the race: http://www.spartan.com/en/race/detail/1641/overview I've signed up for the morning run on 11/13 and created a team. Here's the team information: Team Name: Scuderia 603 Password: bmrs2016 I'd love to get a group together for this event so I don't have to do it by myself. W
  7. This is right up my alley. I'm training for a half marathon in October so I need some motivation to get out there. :-) Also, I'm going by CheekyNando for this challenge. Because why not have some fun?
  8. Greetings again! It's Amanda, although I'm going with a new "alias" in Cheeky Nando (my username on Hearthstone). I decided to do Whole30 starting next week, and it just so happens that my start date also coincides with the next 30 day challenge. Here are my goals for this time around: Diet Complete the Whole30 program with no slip ups. This might be a challenge since I work at Dominos and the food smells so good. But, on the flip side, I've added an InstaPot to my arsenal of cooking gadget and picked up a few books, specificially Nom Nom Paleo, Whole30, and It Starts With Fo

  13. Hey everyone! I decided to create a new thread for my alter ego (real name is Amanda btw) to log mostly workouts so I can keep track of my progress easier. Feedback is always welcome. First a bit of background. I picked my alter ego's first name from a random name generator. The last name, Ichiban (literally 'number 1' in Japanese) was inspired by one of my favorite F1 drivers, Jenson Button, who uses that word frequently. My alter ego is based on the main character in the novel I'm working on, I just didn't want to use the same name for both. Here's my origin story (thanks to the Level Up Yo
  14. I'd be game for doing something the 20th or the 21st. I live in Vermont but it's not a bad drive down to Mass to do something. :-)
  15. I'm starting to notice a pattern with myself... So much has happened in the past couple of years that I've come to realize that I need to make some seriously major changes in my life because I find that I keep falling into the same rut over... and over... and over again. Hence, it's time for a respawn and this time I'm working really hard to make the respawn stick. Long story short, I'm once again battling a nasty bout of depression. I can tell because I'm not happy with anything, I sleep a lot, and I don't enjoy things that once made me super excited. It's taken me years to realize this,
