Hi, first post here. I've been doing a lot of research this last few months; about 10 weeks ago i heard from my doctor that my cholesterol is too high (it runs in the family). i cut out a lot of the junk food in my diet (easy) and i've bought home exercise equipment to exercise at home. I used to workout in college a lot, but haven't in a while. I'm about to turn 30 next month. i'm down to 140 pounds and have been holding steady for 5 or 6 weeks. I've recently downloaded myfitnesspal to count calories. i'd like to gain some muscle and get to about 15% body fat. my question is: should i have a goal weight in mind or should i just focus on adding about a half pound a week until i like what i see in the mirror? I own a power cage, bench, and 300# of weight. my workout is pretty simple: workout a: squats, bench, and bent-over rows workout b: deadlift, pull ups, and overhead press 3 times a week, a-b-a/b-a-b food wise, i work in a Chinese restaurant 6 days a week. from myfitnesspal app, my fat is a little low, but i'm working on maintaining about 300 more calories than i've been averaging a day. anyhow, i'm happy to be here, thanks for any input you guys have.
