  1. It's definitely harder for me on weekends. Without the schedule we have mon-fri i forget to workout and tend to eat foods that are easier to prepare. I'll have to recommit to my challenges tomorrow. Habits don't start over night,... right?
  2. Welcome to the challenge and good goals! What eating plan are you hoping to stick to? Are you cutting out sodas and sugar, just trying to eat more veggies, or doing a specific diet plan? What kinds of things do you like to do to keep active? Are you talking walking/jogging, workout videos, going to the gym, or simply playing with the kids more? It helps to have specific goals in mind so we can help motivate each other. Let us know what you've been doing and keep up the good work!
  3. Good goals! What are your plans for achieving them? My husband is doing "couch to 5k" on his phone. It tells you when to run and walk and progresses each week. I think it's a 9 week program but he really likes it. He's also doing a "strong man 5X5" program to increase weights. Your goals are similar to his. What does your 1 hr workout consist of? Good job on the weight loss. I'm trying to lose weight too by getting more active and paying attention to what i eat. Keep up the good work!
  4. Good goals! How are they coming along?
  5. Swimming went great! The kids had a blast. My hubby and i took turns playing with babies and being able to actually swim ourselves. I definitely need to do that more often! It was girls night last night and today i'm refocused on my challenges!
  6. Wow, yesterday was a busy day! Welcome ChrisSeal and Maggie_bee! We took the kids swimming yesterday in a friends pool. I love exercising in a pool! Last night was girls night so i wasn't online. I'm motivated and excited for new day! We can do this!
  7. Hmmm, today didn't go so well. I did manage to get a schedule planned for my kids summer. I'd been putting it off. Tomorrow it's back to working out. We're taking the kids to a friends in ground pool tomorrow. Excited about this summers first swim!
  8. I dropped the ball on dinner. I worked on our new summer schedule instead. Looks like we're having KFC grilled chicken and steamed veggies.
  9. Welcome to the group Beautyeb35! That is definitely a full schedule. You are amazing!
  10. What's for dinner? I'll either be serving Beef stew or a new chicken recipe. Thanks for the ideas! I LOVE chicken pot pie so this is a big contender. I'm not sure i'd have the strength not to eat the crust so i'll have to check the carbs and possibly just go for a run. I've heard you can chop up cauliflower and use it as a rice substitute too. I also looked at someones paleo blog that had Zaghetti (Zucchini spiral cut to resemble spaghetti then sauteed till bendy but still firm). I'll have to try that sometime!
  11. Way to go! I'm glad you're enjoying the journey. Keep up the good work!
  12. Hey Ladies! I'm a 34 yr old mom of 5 and this seemed like the place for me! This is my first challenge. I use to worry more about chore charts and dinner than working out but my dear husband and i decided it was time for a change. This week i started Blogilates. I can do it while the baby is napping and the older kids are playing with the younger ones. I'm having to reteach myself to cook. We've decided to cut down on carbs, cut out simple sugars as much as possible and eat more veggies. There are surprisingly very few recipes for chicken that don't have pasta or rice in them! I allow myself a cheat snack every once in awhile. I just find it most important to pay attention to what goes in my body. I really had a problem with just eating food because it was there. I have a 14 yr old girl, almost 12 yr old boy, 9 yr old girl, 4 yr old girl, and a 1 yr old girl. My husband and i have a bet going. Whoever can lose the most body fat by October gets $100. We've enlisted the help of our oldest boy and girl. My 14 yr old daughter is my trainer and our 12 yr old son is his. They also get $100 if they are on the winning team.
  13. Today's Blogilates kicked my butt! I am ashamed to say i was shaking all the way through my plank and for a while after. Considering the extent of todays workout, i have decided to amend Goal #1 to walking 3 times a week instead of 5. I wasn't walking at all before this challenge and think i overestimated a bit.
  14. For goal #2 this week i'm trying Pop Pilates! I found http://www.blogilates.com/ Cassey Ho does Pilates to music and has a beginners calendar for one month. Check it out and tell me what you think. So far (day 1) I like it. Also i had to clean my room for a private place to do Pilates so goal #4 is also well underway!
  15. Unfortunately there isn't a lot to choose from as far as local gyms go. I know there's one in town but i don't think they offer any classes and my funds are limited over the summer. I was hoping people would suggest online videos i could try. My husband is putting together a make-shift gym on our back deck. Next time i plan on making some strength training goals but for now i'm trying to choose which category of the rebellion i fit in. Proud to be an adventurer for now! Kick boxing intrigues me and i'm really excited to try it! I think Yoga could be good but the slow moving and deep breathing bores me. It's hard to meditate with ADD. I end up stressing over to do lists. The dancing idea is GREAT. I bet i could get my girls to do them with me! I'm not sure I can pull Tumbling off. The thought of me trying to roll around on the floor makes me giggle. I think i can still complete a cartwheel but not without pulling something Hmmm, sounds like it could be a future goal though. Thanks for the great ideas! Keep 'em coming!
