  1. I love coffee to even consider about whether or not its paleo. It's just coffee. It's on the diet no matter what. @anivair: True, but since my mind naturally gears toward rules, it helps by thinking of it that way for me, to keep me on the straight and narrow
  2. 3/16 1) Went to an actual gym with real free weights and benches and squat cages oh my! Had fun. Actually free benched my body weight easily 5 times, so that is now a victory for me. 2) I am so slacking on this particular challenge 3) No running that day, erging on row machine instead (because I never have before) 4) Rental is gone, replacement car here, only thing left to do is turn in tags and such on old car. 5) Apparently, despite herself, she did not do any man -makers. Will re tool for upcoming persistance. 3/17 1) Went on Hike as mentioned above. 4 hours, 2500 elevation change, 7mi or so round trip, and we RAN down. More like controlled falling, but a lot of balance work and thinking 'oh crap oh crap oh crap TREEEEE oh crap oh crap oh crap STREAM JUMP WHEEEEE oh crap oh crap...', so very tiring with about a 10pd pack on your back. 2) didn't make it onto the site between work, hiking, and st patty's day (Everyone was Irish!) 3) No gym, no run 4) Car is being cleaned out sometime this week in prep for removing tags and junking it. 5) Spezzy is man-maker less. 3/18 1) No workout today, as people are town from Boston and they are more important. Also, host is cooking paleo style dinner. 2) see above 3) see above 4) see above 5) see above. Work + friends in town means fun tonight, but paleo style! I will be making paleo desserts!
  3. Nah. We have him do one of Spezzy's or Cacophony's workouts.
  4. *whispers* Maaaaaan-makers..... and I *like* pull ups. *flees*
  5. Ha! You keep it up too! I found after 3 cups of black coffee I felt giddy and talky and kind of the way I do when I drink, so its a good during-the-week substitute. And by the way, give your Trainer a calculator.
  6. So I went out tonight at a bar. Sat down at a table. Looked a menu. And like every paleo dieter out there, thought 'Craaaaaaaaaap.' So, instead of drinking, I had black coffee. Instead of eating something horribly off diet, I found the one thing most likely to be paleo. Sweet potato fries cooked in olive oil. Extremely close, as I know mostly, sweet potato doesn't count as strict paleo, but you know what, I feel that it was extremely close. CRISIS EFFIN' AVERTED. DIET WIN.
  7. @Freefit, Army: Thanks guys. Woop Woop Magic 8 Ball *shake shake* Outlook: Awesome and Squad-Supportive. 3/15 "The ides of the march are upon youuuuuuu... wherever you go, there they will beeeeeeee." (sung to walker, texas ranger, theme song) 1) No workout. Went on life workout instead. Another date. 2) Nothing here. Lot of work today. Boo work! 3) No gym, no run 4) Car is being picked up tomorrow! Huzzah and stuff 5) I haven't heard hide nor hair from spezzy about man-makers. Maybe cross-fit is making her weak? Not worried about lack of workout as A) still have 4 more days in the week and only need 3 I have tomorrows work out (going with a friend to a place with free bench and dead lifting equipment SO EXCITED) C) Going on a 6 hour hike thursday morning with friends to Old Ragtop mountain (4 miles one way, with rock climbing, hand over hand, and a 2500 ft elevation change) hikingupward.com places this as a difficulty 4 (out of 6 I think) and says I will approximately burn about 3000 calories doing this. It also claims its a 5.5 hour hike. Me and my buddies aim to do it in 4. This will be utterly destructive and all fat burn. LOVE IT D) I will just have to find a strength workout on Friday and maybe abs core saturday?

    Pistachio's

Mm, maybe that's it. I did kind of break diet on Sunday (went to a wedding, at a ton of meat, but also had about 3 rolls, some crackers, and crab dip which I am sure had non paleo things in it). Maybe that's why I was starving monday night. I literally could NOT stop eating.
  9. Howdy CptInsane0 and welcome to the Rebellion! The you get 20 initial base points you get to drop in stuff where you feel your baseline is at. Eg if you are ballin at running, you would to drop a couple in endurance. Some people (myself included) just leave them out as too confusing and just start with 0 as a base and get attributes as we earn them.
  10. Howdy there Achhi, and welcome to the Rebellion! You on a college diet or have available meal plan?

    Pistachio's

    A) Pistachios are delicious. I just tried them today because they were on sale. I think I have gone through 2 servings in the last 30minutes. Do we think its possible the body goes through regular cycles of bulk and shred? I seriously feel like there are just some streaks of days where no matter how much I eat I am still hungry. And then some days where I can go for like 6 hours without eating. (and yes, I drink water like its going out of style and the diet/exercise is roughly similar each day to be comparable) C) Does anyone else like to have music to cook to in the kitchen? I find it makes everything better.
  12. Mm. What about agar agar as a substitute?

  17. I know 0 Portuguese, much less fitness related, so I will just say: Howdy Tenkyuu and welcome to the Rebellion! Always good to have another Paleo dieter. If you need any advice for quitting smoking, I know there are a couple of members on the boards, myself included, that would be more then willing to chat with you about methods and tips. One of the best things I found for quitting smoking was exercise. I remember after my first workout, I saw someone light up outside and I nearly lost my lunch.
  18. For learning to run long distances: Use running as an active rest between your weight sets. Like, do some exercises or a circuit then run a mile. Repeat so you run 4 or 5 miles a day. Or split it up so its at the start and end of your workouts. The trick is just to do it. Or maybe take up running outside if you treadmill?
  19. Howdy 1fever and welcome to the Rebellion! Gratso on making through OCS. I hear they sweat you something rough. And WAR DAMN EAGLE. *cough* 'scuse me. Keep yourself and those under you safe.
  20. @altair: They are non existent except for today. When I did something COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone. 3/14 1) Today, got up at 6 in the morning for no good reason and decided to do some body weight workouts get the heart moving. Also did 2 pull ups with a 40 pd weighted vest. I feel pretty awesome about this. In the evening, me and a buddy went to a Gymnasium with springy floors, rings, ropes fun, trampolines etc. We kind of did a little bit of everything and were completely in awe of little girls who were hopping around and being incredibly agile/flexible/springy/muscularly awesome. It made me very determined to get better. I learned I have a slight fear of trying to do a backflip. We then went to the regular gym after for some fun with man makers, pull ups, dips, weighted lunges. Also learned, all the gymnasium stuff barefoot works COMPLETELY different muscles. Also learned, that I can climb a rope with just my arms from butt on the floor to at least a distance of 10 feet up (didn't want to go higher, no harness) I label this a workout 1/4 for the week parkour style. 2) Looked at skills to powerlevel to 6. That mile looks very fast now. But I know I can get multiple skills to 4/5 with little to no effort on my part. Just actually checking the damn things off a list. 3) Tried to run, but my shins and calves hurt from gymnasium fun. So I stopped after about a mile at 7m pace. 4) I pick up my uncle's car tomorrow (he is overseas for the next 6 months) so I definitely made progress because its now street legal (no more expired stickers!). Then its to clean out old car and arrange for pickup. 5) See above spezzy post! progress forward! hah!
  21. Just did the math. 37.58 pds per hand would put you even with me. So 40pds a hand is over and you have to do less or 35 pds a hand is under and you have to do slightly more.
  22. I just called up the 1-800 number they have to schedule a donation. Unfortunately, because I received a tattoo in Baltimore less then 12 months ago, I am unable to donate until May. Drat. Was going to do it today too.
  23. Magic 8 ball : Immunity to earthquakes. Glad to hear you are okay sir.
  24. That is awesome. And makes me jealous. I have a new thing to save for now.
