Signing out for a few days. Going to be in Belgium for the Free and OpenSource Developer European Meet and ConfigManagement Camp till the 3rd. So no training besides maybe some bodyweight stuff in the hotel room. I'll be popping into irc most likely but not much in the forums i guess. Going to try to get at least a couple of blog posts prepared. Blog is lonely with almost a year without posts.

For me it depends. I used to do hiking alone meeting ppl along the way. But for more remote trips liek iceland or finnland I usually take at least 1 person with me. I'm pretty sure it saved my life in finnland by being able to pull each other out of the snow. But soemtimes I do travelling ing roups as well, usually up to 8 people. For example our trip round iceland with 2 cars or our short daytrip from mainland europe to london via bus. I enjoy the comraderie there but i don't get the same relaxation. Both are very good experiences i enjoy (being part of a group vs being myself) and both will ahve a place in my future travels.

Depends on your mode of travel. If you do lots of airlines something like the RedOxx Airboss or skyTrain might be a good choice. If you are mostly on foot I have good experiences with my Lowe Alpine Cerro Torre though m ine is an older version of the linked one. Have been using it for hikes up to 3 weeks not serious long term travel though. the reason why i would advice for the airboss or a similar product while flying is that it fits carryon specifications. So you dont runt he risk of loosing your baggage.

Currently reading: Neal Stephenson - Cobweb (almost finished) Rippetoe - Starting Strength (finished squats) Taleb - Antifragile, things that gain from disorder (difficult read because i dont like his rambligns and dont agree with his logic, but still feeel he has some valid points)

Hi fellow nerds, since a lot of us are working in IT i thought i'd ask if any fellow nerds are attending the Free and OpenSource Develoepr European Meeting in Brussels and/or the configManagement Camp following that in Ghent. If anyone is interested in a small ad hoc meetup give a shout. best wishes fengor

Hey everyone, i'm battling with my softdrink addiction for years now. Started another try to wean myself off yesterday. The approach before that was trying to wean myself of the softdrinks slowly. Since that didnt worked i'm going cold turkey this time. Wish me luck

Been a while again... Lets see i caved in to the soft drink addiction again :/ I blame work. But startign monday it's back to water and tea again. Got a 5th and 10th place at the last 2 malifaux tournaments which is quite ok. Had an awesome weekend at SaarCon (gaming convention for board games, tabletops, rpg and other assorted stuff in germany) and a nice company anniversary of my former employer last night where i was invited. It was really good to see all of the old gang again and much laughs were had. That's it for now and i will try to post at least little stuff more often again
