No more weight loss while sick. You're right, I need to take it easy until I feel better. I'm even allowing myself a little bacon, since its healing properties are well established ;-).
-
Well, I just went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a sinus infection, so my exercise goals are still on hold until I feel better. Not sure what to do about the weight loss goal as doctor didn't think losing more weight is a good idea. Will continue to eat paleo and work on my budget. Am thinking about how to scale back my exercise goals so they are achievable in the time remaining.

Still not able to do all the strength training I want to do with my neck/shoulder pain...but getting a massage on Friday. I did get my bike back from the shop, good as new and am doing well with my budget and eating (though I did succumb to bacon at brunch yesterday....).
-
Xtina, I bent the bacon rule over the weekend because I was out of town visiting friends...but now I'm home and back to business. Hope your challenge is going well!
-
LOL, I know, giving up bacon seems a little extreme, but it's only temporary. So far so good on the eating, but I need a trip to the chiropractor before I can get started on the core exercise. I have a giant crick in my neck :-(.

Hey part deux, here's my story. I've always been pretty fit (lots of cycling, walking, weight-lifting) but over the last ten years my father got sick, I took care of him, he got better, died unexpectedly and I got fat and depressed. Started to feel better, my mother got sick etc. Same thing. I gained almost 50 lbs from stress eating and inactivity. Throw in a herniated disk. Last year a co-worker suggested I change my diet to paleo and that made a huge difference. I learned about Nerdfitness and lurked while trying to "level up" in my life in various ways. Since I'm close to my goal a fitness challenge seemed like a good way to approach taking off those last few pounds....
-
I'd like to join this squad, as weight loss is my primary goal.....

where is the spreadsheet?

Reposting my original goals from yesterday: I'm in.... 1. Eat paleo (I already do but have been fudging too much lately) 2. Lose 5 lbs (have lost 40 in the last 12 months eating paleo....5 more to go) 3. Exercise - walk an extra 30 minutes 3 days a week, work up to 15 reps of push-ups, up to 60 seconds of planks x2 4. Develop a personal budget and follow it. Expanding on #1, less alcohol, less bacon, more veggies. For #3, I also want to get back on my bike...which needs to be tuned up. A task I've been putting off for a while. To that end, Personal goal #4b - stop procrastinating.

Per Spezzy, I'm expanding my challenge to include daily dishwashing, and keeping up with budget tracking (I purchased YNAB but haven't started using it routinely). Stretching is another goal I hadn't mentioned previously...I'd like to be able to touch my toes and twist my ankles behind my head by the end of the month. I'm a bit behind on all my goals though because I've been in bed battling an intestinal rebellion. I hope to get back on track this week. On the bright side, I've lost 25 lbs since I started eating Primal in October. Yea me!

I'm totally with you on the dishwashing and finance goals....I HATE washing dishes, but letting crap accumulate in my sink resulted in a $140 bill to have the drain snaked. Spezzy and money are my inspiration to do better.
