  1. Well it has been a little bit since my last post. I am running every other day if possible if not then I run the next day. I don't feel like I have to follow a set schedule for running. So far, I have done about one body weight workout a week. My food journal seems to be hard,I want to wait till the end of day to record my food, which is not working well.
  2. well first check in slash update... My food journal I is so far telling me things I know deep down,I like sweets. if they are in my house I will eat them. I try and not have any but it's not up to me most off the time. My parents and in laws live to give my family left over candy from holidays. I had started to run a little before the challenge. As of today I went a little over 2 miles running and walking. I don't know how much I am really running but that doesn't matter right now. as for the weight training, :-(. I have tried it for 3 challenges so far and I don't know if I should try something different our try again for 6 weeks. I want to do some exercise to go with my running.
  3. I'm down in sanford. I'm looking to try my first race this year if a number of thing fall in place.
  4. Hello all, this is another attempt at this 6 week challenge. I will finish this challenge being able to run or jog a mile. I will finish this challenge starting a habit of beginner body weight exercise. My major goal is starting a journal, to record food intake and exercise.
  5. Well, I am of to a slow start. I have finally completed my first workout. I don't know how I an going to walk a mile everyday with the temperature dropping, I would love advice on this. Eating seems to be the easiest thing so far.
  6. Hello all, I am a family man trying to find time to work out and get a tiny bit healthy. Main goal: To walk 1 mile outside of work, everyday. I want to work my way up to 5k, but starting the exercise habit is more important. Second goal: Starting beginners body weight workout. Food goal: Adding one cup of vegetables, everyday. Life goal: doing one thing to fix up my house. I bought an old house and it needs lots off work, and I am not a handyman. Not sure if this counts as a life goal and I don't know which one thing I will do yet. Let's do this, yay!
  7. After this first week, i have discovered some new things about myself. Being the family man that i am, i am finding it hard to exercise at night after work. This next week I am going to focus on doing everything in the morning before work... I get up early enough. Another thing is, in my attempt to minimize my workout time. I am not warming up properly. At most I am walking before and after my runs, but that is all my warm up and cool down that i do for everything.
  8. Well I finally made it back to post about my first week. The hundredpushups.com is what inspired me to try to do it. I am doing a modified coach to 5k. So right now the hardest thing is the ten o'clock bed time, but I have five more weeks. Thanks for all the encouragement.
  9. Well, this is my second attempt. My main quest is to run 5k. 1. I am going to retry bodyweight workouts. 2. I will aim to do 100 push ups. 3. 10 o'clock will be my new bed time, so i will have 8 hours of sleep
  10. Second Report Waking up: I was able to get out of bed today at the right time. I think this is a good start.Workout: CheckMile: two days ago, since I didn't get up early, I was not able to do it. Today i was able to do a 15 minute mile, with fast walking and some jogging.Veg/Fruit: I had apples and salad these past few days. so my workout is 3 sets : pushups squatsrowslungesplanksjumping jackswith warmups at the beginning and stretching at the end.
  11. I don't think its the alarm that I'm having trouble with, I think its more of the comfortable bed that is warm. thanks, that is a good idea. though, I am on a budget.
  12. First Report Failed at getting up at 5:30. Its early in the challenge so its ok.Workout - CheckI am just walking/running for 30 minutes. I walked for 21 minutes and jogged for 9 minutes.I had a salad and an apple today. Yesterday, I had an apple. Overall, I think this is a good start.
  13. This is my first challenge. I have been on this site before and have wanted to to challenges before but I have never been consistent before. I picked adventurer because I am just starting out. My goals: 1 - Wake up by 5:30, I have a kid and this would let me have more time in the day for her and other things. 2 - Be able to do the beginner strength workout, since I am on the weak side. Then be able to do the warm up without being tired for the workout. 3 - Run a mile. Edit If I can do it before the end then: Run a 13 min mile 4 - Eat more fruits and vegetables at meal times. I am a meat and potato kinds of guy. I plan to do strength one day then walk/run the next, and go back and forth
