  1. Thanks for the support team :-) I see we have another challenge!!! I think I'll do the burpees (hate them but must master them), fingertip push-ups, squat variations, and handstands (I've been practicing these...it would be cool to do it well!). I haven't been keeping track of my points....not sure I've earned any yet but I am more conscious of my protein intake so that's a good thing and I think I totally skipped the limber week
  2. It's been a rough week - so far this month we've had 4 occasions that call for cake with 3 more coming!! I'm working a lot of hours and no time for my normal workouts so I've been walking at lunch. Then we found out this week that my 17-year-old is diabetic and needed to start insullin shots right away. Wow what an awakening to how much sugar is in the food we eat. Of everyone in my family, this kid eats the best and is the most athletic - he's been working hard in the weight room at school and is on the varsity football team. Sometimes life just isn't fair! So as a family, we are all going to make smart choices at the grocery store and look at labels for sugar content. Next week we go to a dietitian which will help him (and me) to understand how to control this disease for the rest of his life. This life change should make us all healthier and make us a stronger family!!!!
  3. I'm doing pretty good this week - I've been logging all my food and staying in my calorie range. Ran 4 miles on Monday and did these killer stadium steps at our high school; yesterday did pilates yoga which kicked my butt but it included weights so that's good for my goals. Weekends are the hardest so stay strong my doodle friends!!
  4. OK - just joined up today and I guess I posted something on your other blog page - color me confused!! LOL Anyway I'm here and ready to go - fyi: not much of a "nerd" and don't get the "nerd" references but I'll learn. Looking forward to a fun 6 weeks - ready set go!
  5. Missed the challenge cut-off but I'm here anyway. Don't know a lick of French and pretty much failed Spanish but I'm game for anything as long as fun is involved :-) I'll put my seat belt on and enjoy the ride!!!
  6. Thanks for the encouragement!! So far I'm do good Angel - I put a weight loss number because I know if I stick to logging my food and not cheat I can lose one pound a week so if I lose 5 pounds in the next 6 weeks I'll be happy. I'm bouncing up and down 3 lbs lately - these graduation parties are killing me!!! This will be a hard month - my birthday, my son's birthday, my anniversary, my parents anniversary, father's day, grad parties - and I know there will be cake for all of them!!!
  7. This is my first NF challenge but I've been following the NF emails for about a year. They have been really helpful in keeping me focused and inspired! I've lost 30 lbs since last July and want to lose about 10 more but mostly just wanna look and feel good in a bathing suit. I've followed the Paleo diet but not hard core and logged everything I eat with MyFitnessPal. This challenge is coming at the perfect time because I'm starting to get lazy and I don't wanna regress. I've started running and - can't believe it - actually enjoy it. I like to do yoga which I've noticed has made my running easier and I can go longer. My goals are: Lose 5-10 lbs Weight training at least once a week (not my favorite but I know I should do it) Get back on track logging my food (I've been slacking) Start actually putting money away in my saving's account - 5% a paycheck I have 3 teenagers that keep me busy and I want to be a good role model and show them you're never too old to try something new or better yourself!!
